Chapter 19: Chapter 19 What the hell had I just done?
Aria’s POV
His eyes darkened. "Neither." He reached out, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear, his fingers lingering against my neck. "You’re something far more dangerous."
"What’s that?"
"Mine."
My breath caught. His hand was still at my neck, thumb brushing the hollow of my throat where my pulse hammered wildly.
"Aria," he said, and my name on his lips sounded like a prayer and a threat all at once.
"Yes?"
His eyes met mine again, dark and burning. "Tell me to leave."
I should have. God, I should have told him to walk out that door right now.
Instead, I leaned in.
His mouth crashed into mine.
The kiss wasn’t gentle. It was claiming, demanding, devastating. His hands slid into my hair, tilting my head back, and I gasped against his lips.
That gasp was a mistake—or maybe exactly what he wanted—because his tongue swept into my mouth and I nearly came undone.
God, it had been so long. So long since I’d been touched like this, wanted like this.
My body responded instantly, desperately, two years of neglect making me hypersensitive to every sensation.
He backed me against the wall, his body pressing into mine, and heat exploded through every nerve ending. His thigh pushed between my legs and I whimpered at the friction, shameless and needy.
"Damian," I gasped when his mouth moved to my jaw, trailing fire down my throat.
He growled—actually growled—against my skin. The vibration went straight through me, pooling heat low in my belly.
His hand slid down my side, gripping my hip hard enough to bruise, and I arched into him.
"You smell so fucking good," he breathed against my neck. "Like lavender and something sweeter. Drives me insane."
His teeth grazed my throat and I nearly sobbed. Every touch felt magnified, overwhelming. My hands fisted in his jacket, pulling him closer even though there was no space left between us.
"Please," I heard myself whisper, though I wasn’t sure what I was begging for.
His hand slid under my shirt, palm hot against my bare skin, and I shuddered.
When his thumb brushed the underside of my breast, I made a sound I’d never made before—desperate and wanton.
"So responsive," he murmured, his lips finding mine again. "So perfect."
The kiss deepened, turned frantic. His hand moved higher, cupping me through my bra, and the pressure made me gasp into his mouth. Pleasure sparked through every nerve ending.
This was dangerous. This was insane. But I couldn’t stop. My body was starving for this—for touch, for desire, for feeling wanted after so long in the cold.
His other hand gripped my thigh, hiking my leg up around his hip. The new angle pressed him exactly where I needed it most, and I rolled my hips shamelessly against him.
"Fuck, Aria," he groaned. I could feel him, hard and ready against me, and it made me dizzy with want.
"Damian," I breathed again, his name the only coherent thought left.
He kissed me harder, one hand tangled in my hair, the other still gripping my thigh. I could feel his restraint fraying, could sense something wild barely contained beneath his skin.
And god help me, I wanted to see it unleashed.
Then—a sharp knock on the door.
We both froze.
"Alpha.Emergency." A male voice came through the wood. "We need to leave in fifteen minutes to make the flight."
Damian’s forehead dropped to mine, his breathing as ragged as my own.
"Fuck," he muttered. Then louder: "Understood, Rick."
Footsteps retreated down the hallway.
We stood there for a long moment, neither of us moving. His hand was still under my shirt, my leg still wrapped around his hip. I could feel his heart pounding against my chest.
"I should go," he said finally, though he made no move to step back.
"Yeah," I whispered. "You should."
Neither of us moved.
Then he kissed me again, softer this time but no less intense.
He stepped back, and the loss of contact felt like a physical ache. He straightened his jacket, running a hand through his hair where I’d messed it up.
"If you have any troubles, give me a call," he said at the door.
"I will."
He looked at me one more time, something fierce and possessive burning in his gaze.
Then he was gone.
I slid down the wall, my legs shaking, my whole body still humming with unspent desire.
What the hell had I just done?
