When Liora said that something else was going on, Roxanne wasn’t surprised because Liora had already informed her today about what was going on through the ’artifact.’
"What is it?" Arin asked.
Liora’s eyes suddenly sharpened. "Vaelric.... He has turned against us."
"Huh?" Arin muttered, his brows rising in curiosity.
"What do you mean by turned against?" he asked.
Liora blinked, her expression still indifferent.
The next second, she had already begun explaining to Arin.
She told him how Vaelric pointed his sword at Thalos, and also the things he said and how they also pointed their weapons at him to defend the king.
She knew that Arin would need to know some things first before he would understand what Vaelric said, so she also explained some things that happened in the past to him.
Things like the war with the humans and how Thalos stopped the war, making some Vampires, including Vaelric, very angry.
She explained that Thalos had ordered that no one should talk about it, but in every meeting, Vaelric was always hinting at it.
She explained a bit about the last king and how Vaelric preferred his harsh style of rulership.
Arin didn’t know all these because they weren’t mentioned in the novel, so he was quite shocked about some of this information, especially one in particular.
’So that’s how the Vampires feed, huh?’ Arin thought as Liora’s explanation about the humans in the Vampire Kingdom lingered in his head.
Though, the good thing was that the humans there weren’t being maltreated, and that was due to Thalos’s orders, if not....
Arin digested all the information he just received, including the one about Vaelric leaving the meeting.
According to Liora, all the Progenitors present, including the King, knew that Vaelric was about to do something, and it was certainly related to the humans. After all, he was obsessed with continuing the war against the humans.
Liora also told him about Sylas’s idea of just observing for now, and when they finally noticed even the slightest thing related to Vaelric, they would instantly make their move.
"I also agree with that," Arin said, squinting his eyes. "Like you said, Vaelric is currently nowhere to be found, but he’s certainly doing something, and it surely won’t remain hidden."
Liora nodded her head. "Yes. And the King has also decided to do anything possible to make sure the humans aren’t harmed."
"So if Vaelric manages to get here and start a war, the King will definitely support the humans, even if they accept his support or not," Liora added. "But with the current problem with the Phoenixes, it’ll be more than hectic."
Roxanne sighed. "We may be biting more than we can chew, but it’s only right to support the humans. After all, they didn’t do anything to the Vampires in the first place. They were just on their own."
Arin held back his smile after hearing what Roxanne said. ’Bite more than we can chew? That phrase just sounds funny in this context. I don’t remember Vampires biting anything.... They only drink...’
"Why do you always have random thoughts like this when crucial conversations are going on?" Seraphine asked with a sigh.
Arin rolled his eyes. "Look who’s talking....."
Suddenly, he noticed that Liora was staring at him.
"You’re talking with Seraphine, right?" she asked, with a slight smile on her face.
Arin didn’t bother to deny it. Moreover, they already knew that Seraphine was with him.
"How did you know?"
"Your facial expression gave it away," she replied. "It changed for a second."
’Maybe she noticed it when I rolled my eyes,’ Arin thought.
"Back to the topic," Liora said. "Progenitor Arin, we have all agreed to start making plans now and try to take things one step at a time.... If possible."
"The King also mentioned that if there’s still a way to avoid war against the Phoenixes, then he’ll definitely do that," she added.
"I see...."
Liora continued. "But even with that, we’ll need your help now. Like you mentioned, information is power, and you have that. It’ll be helpful to us if the war ever starts."
Arin nodded his head. "That’s true. I want to help, but I’m currently not in a situation to leave this place now."
Liora squinted her eyes. "What’s the problem?"
"The Academy just got destroyed due to a battle that occurred, and as you can see, I’m currently in my parents’ house," Arin said. "Leaving now will cause major problems for me."
Arin was very sure that Roxanne had not and would not tell Liora that it was them who actually fought a certain person and caused the Academy to be destroyed. They had agreed on that before.
Liora was quite surprised when she heard that this was his parents’ house.
In the Vampire Kingdom, Arin didn’t even say anything about himself or his background, so this was new knowledge.
"Oh," Liora muttered. "But you also can’t break your promise."
Arin nodded. "I know, but me being here will still benefit the Vampires, most especially the King."
Liora squinted her eyes as she crossed her legs. "What do you mean?" Discover stories with Freewebnovel
Arin stared at her. "Vaelric is making plans to come to the Human Realm and start another war, right?"
Liora nodded, waiting to hear what Arin would say next.
"When the King finally realizes this, Vaelric must have already started his attack. But with me here, I’ll instantly sense him and do two things."
Arin’s expression turned serious as he continued. "Firstly, I’ll instantly inform the other Progenitors in the Vampire Kingdom, and secondly, I’ll instantly begin supporting the humans before the King sends his support."
Liora was about to say something, but Arin had already continued talking.
"And apart from that, with the preparation for war against the Phoenixes, does the King intend to send all the Progenitors here?"
"I don’t think so," Arin answered his own question. "So, anyone he sends will join me, and with my knowledge of this human realm and the different places, I’ll be able to guide any Progenitor he sends to join me, and it’ll make supporting the humans easier."
Immediately, Arin concluded, Liora was left quite speechless.
His points were so solid, and she didn’t see any loophole in them, at least for now.
What was even more surprising was the way he formed this plan within seconds, just after she finished explaining.
Arin stared at her. "What do you think?"
’This plan should be good enough,’ Arin thought. ’I don’t see any reason to disagree.’
He remembered that the last time he went to the Vampire Kingdom, an entire day passed in the human realm, and with his insane parents and old younger brother who would be capable of spying on him in his sleep, there was a high chance that they would be suspicious when they didn’t see him.
’Normally, I would be able to make up a good excuse for that, but I just don’t want to go to the Vampire Kingdom now,’ Arin thought.
He could go later, but now? He just didn’t.
Liora was silent for some seconds as she squinted her eyes, looking deep in thought.
Arin and Roxanne just watched her in silence as they waited for her to say something.
Finally, she raised her head, looking at Arin.
"That’s a solid plan," she said. "I agree with it, but....."
She paused for a second before she continued.
"There are still ’three’ more Progenitors who are included in this matter, so it’s not like I can just make the decision myself."

Arin nodded his head. "True....."
"So I’ll return to the Vampire Kingdom and propose the idea to the King and the other Progenitors," Liora said. "I’ll try my best."
Arin smiled. "Thank you. If it works out, I’ll do everything in my power to make sure I support the humans."
Liora smiled as she nodded.
Arin stared at her, remembering that Roxanne mentioned that her parents were also killed.
He quickly discarded that thought as he watched Liora and Roxanne chatting.
Liora had a bright smile on her face as she laughed with Roxanne.
’Her expression instantly changes whenever she’s talking to Roxanne. She laughs and shows a side of her that she doesn’t normally show,’ Arin thought, making him wonder why she was actually showing that side of her in front of him.
’They must really be closer than I thought.’
A few minutes later, a circle formed on the floor.
Liora glanced at Arin. "I’ll get back to you once we’ve made a decision."
Arin nodded, and with that, Liora disappeared from the room along with the circle.
Roxanne lowered her head and was about to transform back into her bracelet form, but Arin stopped her.
Without saying anything, he pointed at the window, and a bright smile instantly formed on her face as she rushed towards it.
"Thank you, Arin."
The window was facing the other side of the street, so she could see the people walking around.
The day was already slightly dark, but the street was still busy.
Arin noticed that Roxanne had been looking at the window ever since she appeared, and he knew exactly what that meant.
Arin sighed as he jumped on the bed, remembering his conversation with Liora.
But suddenly.....
’Wait.... I still had unread notifications....’
