Chapter 45: Chapter 45

Chapter 45

"Besides, I did secretly meet some acquaintances, but they traveled discreetly. I cannot reveal this to anyone, as my pen name must not be associated with the Villainess Qin identity. Otherwise, no one would pay to support me, no matter how good the novel is... Therefore, their travel group remains anonymous, and I cannot disclose it either. All interactions were done very discreetly."

"It’s okay, I believe you. You would never do that," Mu Heng said, even if he saw her entering a room with a man. Knowing Yueqian’s character, he was certain she would not do such a thing.

The beautiful woman looked at her handsome husband. Though he didn’t have the refined look of high nobility, the aura of his masculinity was unmistakable. He was straightforward and solid, and his thinking wasn’t shallow.

Yueqian knew this man would lead a joyful life, and he would also bring happiness to others around him.

"Thank you for believing in me. Actually..., since my birth, only you have trusted me to this extent. Even my wonderful mother, upon hearing such things, wouldn’t truly believe in my innocence. Only you believed in me without questioning anything." Yueqian thanked him sincerely.

What she said was what she truly felt. Her parents never really saw her as their daughter and didn’t know who she really was. They were concerned with maintaining appearances, and although her mother loved her, the old-fashioned thinking had pushed her to prepare her daughter to be the wife of some nobleman.

She believed that having a husband with status and power was better than one with just a good nature.

"Don’t say that. Once you are my wife, you and I are one," Mu Heng caressed Yueqian’s hair gently in response, his rough hands being careful as if he was afraid of hurting her.

The young woman felt great about this and gave him a sweet smile before leaning her soft body into his embrace. Mu Heng stiffened in surprise, but soon his racing heart trembled. His face flushed with shyness, but his strong arms wrapped around her, as if he would never let her go for the rest of their lives.

Gurgle!

Just as the couple was being sweet, suddenly the sound of young Xiao Long’s stomach rumbling interrupted them. Mu Heng and Yueqian pulled apart, and the embarrassed Xiao Long chuckled sheepishly.

"It seems... I’m hungry," the little boy said shyly, scratching the back of his head to ease his embarrassment.

"Your stomach is a villain indeed," Huan’er chided. She was enjoying watching her sister-in-law and big brother sharing their love so blissfully. Who would have thought that her second brother would make such an embarrassing noise?

"I’m hungry, it wasn’t intentional," Xiao Long argued loudly.

"I’m hungry too, but I’m still holding on," Huan’er was not to be outdone, throwing another jibe.

"Can I control my stomach? I’m holding on too."

The two siblings argued cutely, causing Yueqian to feel the amusement. She tightened her grip on her husband’s hand, showing her fondness for him, yet her gaze shifted to the children to stop them.

"Let’s go inside and have dinner," Yueqian told the little ones, prompting them to finally cease their argument.

Knowing the dinner that they were waiting for was imminent, Xiao Long and Huan’er transformed from foes to allies, joyously heading inside together.

The food, already prepared, was served with Xiao Long lifting a large bowl of fried rice, while Huan’er hurriedly arranged the bowls. The two siblings worked in perfect harmony. It turned out their big brother and sister-in-law did not have to do anything.

The fried rice, slightly cooled, and the still-warm soup were unexpectedly delicious. Its deliciousness was great, yet Yueqian felt a slight regret; freshly made, the meal could have been even tastier.

Mu Heng consumed two bowls of rice, a testament to his enjoyment for this fried rice, which brought a satisfied smile to the beautiful woman’s face.

The evening sped by swiftly. The children retired to their own rooms as the weather had warmed up, allowing the two to sleep together, talking like how husband and wife usually do.

Although Mu Heng and Yueqian frequently shared a bed, recalling the recent events and the deepening of their affection rendered the atmosphere in the room even sweeter.

Yueqian lay down next to Mu Heng, enveloped by his arm around her tiny waist. Despite the many months of their marriage, such closeness had never occurred before. She knew Mu Heng often had desires, yet he patiently waited for her true acceptance of him.

His gentlemanly demeanor had always been etched in Yueqian’s heart. Today, he had again acted on her behalf. Thinking back to a previous argument with his uncles to retrieve her money..., her thin brows frowned.

Typically, their shyness meant they never faced each other in bed. If Yueqian turned towards him, Mu Heng would become awkward and switch to lying on his back. So, to facilitate his comfort, Yueqian would always lie facing away.

Suddenly, the delicate woman started to move. Mu Heng opened his eyes a little to see the beauty; he then saw Yueqian turning towards him and even hugged him back. The large man lay rigid, the feelings expected of a man surfacing again as he was close to her soft body and inhaled her sweet scent, his desire mounting uncontrollably.

Before Mu Heng could escape to lie on his back to hide his evident erection, Yueqian moved forward and kissed his cheek.

"Ah, Q... Qian..." Before he could finish, Mu Heng caught the loving gaze of his wife.

He calmed his panic, leaning into Yueqian instead of refusing and fleeing from the rising emotions.

"Qian’er, I..."

"Yes, my husband..." Not waiting for her husband to finish, Yueqian closed her eyes contentedly, her beautiful, natural alluring poses nearly causing Mu Heng to go mad.

He slowly removed her garments, revealing the most beautiful sight he had ever encountered, before Yueqian received the great deep affection and tender care from her husband.

The next morning, Yueqian’s body ached terribly, despite lying on her own spring mattress. It was the first time in her two lives that she had experienced such intensity from a man, hence she was unaccustomed to it.

She couldn’t even rise from bed, due to the pain in the area, but fortunately, Mu Heng came to check on her. He insisted that she continue to rest; she had a slight fever. But Yueqian mentioned she had already taken some medicine, so he refrained from calling a doctor as she didn’t want.

The clean white sheets were stained with red, if the parents were living with them, she would have to bring the sheets with the virginity blood stain to dry outside for people to see. However, since Yueqian and Mu Heng had been married for some time and it was winter, no one would be interested to see them.

Yueqian didn’t intend to hang the sheets out for embarrassment. For safety, she discreetly disposed of them into a dimension and had Mu Heng replace them with fresh ones.

Her husband watched her actions silently, not questioning where the old sheets went or how the new ones appeared. He simply cared for her and assisted when she struggled with tasks.

That morning when he first woke up, he knew his wife must be in pain since her blood stain on the bed was evident. Mu Heng knew since last night that he was her first.

The city rumors were wrong. They said Yueqian was despicable and would do anything to attract the Young General’s attention, even stripped and slept with him before marriage. In fact, none of that had happened. Yueqian had been slandered, to tarnish her reputation.

Reflecting on this, Mu Heng could not help but feel angry.

He was upset by the thought of how much his wife must have suffered in the capital. He was enraged at her former fiancé—how could he, being engaged to her, allow his Qian’er to face such defamation? She was a little woman with no strength, and he was a man. Shouldn’t he have protected her?

Mu Heng felt a deep bias against all who had berated Yueqian.

"Today, I’m not going anywhere. I’ll take care of you all day. If you need anything, just call me. Don’t worry about food; the kids prepare it. They know what to do. They used to cook for me all the time, so there’s no need for concern. Just rest for now," Mu Heng said, almost wishing he could spank his wife’s little bottoms. He already told her she did not need to get up, yet she got up to change the sheets.

"I’m not that badly hurt, I can still help out," Yueqian protested. She knew she was in pain, but it wasn’t incapacitating. It was Mu Heng who was being overly protective.

"Can’t you just listen to me for once?" the large man asked seriously, his sword-like eyebrows knitting together.

"Qian’er?" Seeing such demeanor of her husband, Yueqian could only lie back down.

Mu Heng, seeing his wife comply, smiled contentedly. His thick hand opened, revealing an unusual packet of medicine. Yueqian looked at her husband who was about to leave with curiosity.

“Husband, where are you going?"

"Ah, just to boil some medicine for you."

"Medicine?"

"Uh, yes, a nourishing tonic..." Mu Heng replied shyly, seeing his bashful demeanor made Yueqian smile, feeling an urge to tease him.

"Nourishing, for what?"

"For your health," the young man replied, avoiding eye contact.

"Is it a tonic for nourishing before pregnancy? I heard the pharmacist mention last time that you bought some," Yueqian didn’t let him off easily, exposing his secret until the young man was at a loss for words... Well, how could Mu Heng explain that he had been longing to hold his wife like this for a long time? He had even wanted children with her since before she allowed him to hold her hand!
