Chapter 364: Chapter 362: Pamisha
The receptionist displayed three commissions in total.
The first one is an investigation team. The Northern Alliance is organizing an investigation deep into the Land of the Far North and is currently recruiting mercenary investigators, requiring at least a Tier Two Mage who can follow orders.
Hilia took a look at it and shook her head.
Official team from the Northern Alliance?
What a joke, with the Northern Alliance’s efficiency and the officials’ conduct, dealing with them would mean even getting payment would require multiple approvals and stamps, going through layer after layer of audits before being released.
By the time the payment is released, people would have already cooled off.
Besides, this commission is a large-scale one, requiring the recruitment of dozens of people before departure.
Hilia can’t wait that long.
"The second commission is collection..., can I ask, is this commission deep in the Land of the Far North?"
The receptionist glanced at it and said, "It is, but according to the route given by the client, it requires going around in a circle, slowly moving deep into the Land of the Far North."
"How long does the commission take?" Hilia asked.
"About a month."
"Forget it," Hilia shook her head and looked at the third one.
The third commission mentioned that someone discovered a new ancient frozen ruin deep in the Land of the Far North. The ruin is very beautiful, so the client wants to go and see if it’s really that beautiful and plans to record it with a bracelet.
"Isn’t this commission about exploring ruins?"
The receptionist shook his head, "No, the client is the daughter of our town mayor. She loves beautiful scenery, so she issued the commission, hoping to see if the newly discovered ancient frozen ruin is truly beautiful. Once confirmed, you can return."
"This looks good, and it’s the mayor’s daughter. I’ll take it."
Beside her, Rose showed a vague smile.
But he said nothing.
The receptionist shook his head, "This commission requires you to go to the mayor’s house and pass the mayor’s assessment before you can accept it. According to mercenaries who have taken it before, this assessment might require at least Tier Three in strength."
"No problem, I’m a Tier Three Mage. Please tell me where the mayor’s house is."
"Okay, the mayor’s house is..."
...
The center of the Extreme North Supply Town is a large plaza, with a tall statue erected in the middle. Beside the plaza, there is a large mansion.
This mansion is the home of the town’s mayor.
When Hilia arrived there, she saw many people gathered in the plaza, occasionally bursting into laughter.
She walked over and found a few ashen-faced people running out of the crowd, shamefully leaving.
"What’s going on here?"
Hilia squeezed through the crowd and made her way to the front row.
In the center surrounded by everyone, a blue-haired girl wearing Mithril armor, holding a Longsword, looked around and loudly asked, "Who else wants to sign up?"
"Sign up?" Hilia was taken aback, and immediately saw a paper pasted under the statue, which was unmistakably written [Pamisha’s Guard Commission Assessment], with the detailed assessment requirements below.
Actually, there was only one line of text: Defeat Pamisha, no Magic Puppets allowed.
The first line made many people think it was easy, while the second line immediately deterred most mercenaries.
"Pamisha... isn’t that the mayor’s daughter?" Hilia mumbled.
A mercenary next to her heard her words, turned to look at Hilia, and was slightly surprised, then warmly explained, "Yes, Miss Pamisha is the mayor’s daughter. She’s recruiting a guard team to explore the newly discovered frozen ruins deep in the Land of the Far North."
Another person interjected, "But Miss Pamisha recently advanced to Tier Three. Without Magic Puppets, you can’t defeat her, and so far, she’s only recruited two guards."
"Tier Three? And she still managed to recruit two?" Hilia was surprised, "Is she really just purely wanting to go deep into the Land of the Far North to take photos?"
"I don’t know, the depths of the Land of the Far North are too dangerous. Lady, why not join our Mercenary Corps and explore with us... What are you doing? Don’t have a death wish!"
Before the mercenary could finish, Hilia had already stepped forward.
Pamisha noticed Hilia’s arrival and pointed her Longsword, "Do you want to participate in the assessment?"
Hilia asked, "Yes, Miss Pamisha. May I know when are you departing?"
Pamisha expressed interest, "Such confidence, directly asking when we’re departing. Sure, I like it. If you can defeat me, we can set off tomorrow."
"Alright, please proceed."
Hilia took out the Ten Thousand Lights Sword.
The design of the Ten Thousand Lights Sword did not become ugly due to the seal, still flickering brightly, immediately capturing the attention of Pamisha and the surrounding mercenaries.
"What a beautiful sword!"
Pamisha immediately became serious.
"With such a beautiful sword, your skills must be strong. Then, take this!"
With that, Pamisha charged over.
Hilia held the Sword with both hands, standing it upright in front of her, and the Ice Shield Combination Skill appeared, enveloping her.
Boom!
Pamisha’s Sword Qi slashed at Hilia’s Ice Shield, leaving a shallow mark.
"Such a sturdy defense."
Seeing this, Pamisha was immediately motivated to win, "Let’s see if your shield is tougher or my sword sharper!"
Boom boom boom!
Pamisha’s attacks pounded on Hilia’s Ice Shield like a storm.
The surrounding mercenaries instinctively backed away, giving the two of them more space for their duel.
The magic of a Tier Three Mage was powerful, unlike these mostly First or Second Tier mercenaries.
Some of the onlookers were even ordinary people; being accidentally grazed by the aftermath of the Sword Qi would at least lead to serious injury.
Those mercenaries with ulterior motives were shocked to see such fierce attacks.
"Miss Pamisha is so strong!"
"Is this the power of a Tier Three Mage? Terrifying!"
"Who needs a guard if Miss Pamisha is so strong? She could go alone!"
"I feel like this mysterious lady is stronger. Such terrifying attacks, yet her shield remains unbroken."
"What kind of magic is this? How is the defense so high? It’s said the Shield of the Earth is the strongest defense in Tier Three, and I’d say this Ice Shield is at least as strong as two Shields of the Earth!"
"What if this is Tier Four
"Magic?"
"I didn’t say anything."
"..."
A moment later, Pamisha, panting heavily, complained, "Hey, are you just going to turtle in your shell? You won’t pass my assessment that way!"
Hilia raised an eyebrow, "Miss Pamisha, is the assessment to defeat you? I thought it was to test the ability to protect you."
Pamisha was taken aback, "The ability to protect me... Well, you’re not wrong. Your magic’s defensive power is impressive, but just being defensive isn’t enough. If we encounter powerful demons, just defending won’t solve anything."
"Understood."
Hilia casually dispersed the Ice Shield, letting the Sword fall, "Well then, my apologies, Miss Pamisha."
With that, before Pamisha could react, an Ice Shield enveloped her.
Hilia swung her Sword, and the Ice Shield immediately lifted her out of the spectator circle.
Pamisha touched the cold Ice Shield with a bewildered expression.
"Huh?"
