Chapter 285: Chapter 283: Healing
Hilia’s class wasn’t made up of only Mier as the sole noble.
So, before long, news of what happened in Mier’s family spread throughout the whole class.
"No one knows what happened to Mier’s father, his magic power’s all gone, he’s become a normal person, and he’s badly injured, still lying in bed even now."
"That serious? Was he attacked by heretics?"
"I heard that this morning, his father suddenly broke the flying ban, flew straight over Huijin City, and landed near the school. A lot of classmates on their way saw it."
"One of my friends said they saw it, said Mr. Deville was terrifying that moment. Wherever he flew past, no one could withstand the pressure—everyone knelt."
"So how did he end up as a normal person and heavily injured?"
"Supposedly, he sided with a sect, obtained power from that unspeakable god, but it was only temporary. The price was severe injury and becoming a normal person."
"Such a heavy price, just to enjoy a few minutes—is it worth it?"
"Who knows. Sect’s seduction is scarier than floods and beasts. Even a Tier Four Earl couldn’t resist—so tragic."
"..."
Hilia listened to the rumors, piecing them together with Anarce’s situation, and Blake’s sudden contact with the Heart of the Magic Puppet, resulting in his coma at Benovia’s house; gradually, the truth emerged in her mind.
Mier’s father somehow got his hands on that Heart of the Magic Puppet, then put it into his own magic puppet, gained the puppet’s power, grew arrogant, and went to cause trouble for Benovia.
It’s strange that he didn’t confront Anarce but went after Benovia instead, but in the end, like Anarce, he ended up badly injured and turned into a normal person.
But Anarce is young, can slowly gather magic power again. As for him, an old guy, his body can no longer handle slow meditation and cultivation—he can’t accept becoming ordinary.
As for what’ll happen to him eventually, Hilia has no idea.
"After school, I should go check on Anarce." The girl thought to herself.
Rose’s voice sounded in Hilia’s mind: "Bring Benovia along and have her bring the Heart of the Magic Puppet. I’ll teach you how to reverse-assimilate it, so she can regain her strength."
Hilia’s eyes lit up, "Okay!"
Rose added, "Make sure your classmate doesn’t find out, or he’ll pester you day and night begging you to help his father recover."
Hilia shivered, "I definitely won’t!"
After school, in the Meditation Room of Serenity, after evening meditation, Hilia and Benovia arrived at her prayer cabin.
"Benovia, can you avoid letting Mier’s family know about our actions?" Hilia asked.
Benovia nodded, smiling, "Don’t worry."
Hilia still felt uneasy, but thinking it over, Anarce was now in the medical wing of Huijin Divine Hall. She and Benovia visiting counted as normal. As long as no one else knew, and Anarce herself didn’t realize, they didn’t need to worry about the secret getting out.
Provided Anarce didn’t wake up.
"Feels like as soon as she’s healed, she’ll wake up right away..."
Hilia thought a moment, then said to Benovia, "Benovia, I’ll disguise myself in a bit, you take me into the Divine Hall to treat Anarce."
Benovia was stunned for a second, then nodded, "Okay."
A moment later, Hilia appeared before Benovia, disguised as a very unremarkable girl.
Benovia looked her over, left, right, up, down, clicking her tongue in awe, "Hilia, your disguise is flawless—not just your looks, your figure’s different too. How did you do it? Where’d you get the Disguise Skill?"
Hilia felt awkward under her scrutiny, shrugged, "A gift from the God."
Anyone else would think she was joking, but Benovia, who truly received divine graces, immediately looked enlightened, "So that’s it! I’ll pray and ask the God for this skill too!"
"Alright, let’s go."
"Let’s go!"
...
With Benovia, Hilia entered Huijin Divine Hall without any proof or questioning, and easily arrived at Anarce’s hospital room.
Compared to the past few days, Anarce looked a bit better now, but even with the God’s precise control, her body—being only Tier One—had endured more than Tier Three power, pushing her to the brink of death.
Fortunately, Phil spared no effort in healing her, saving her life. But the lingering divine power still affected her body, causing a slow recovery.
And now—
Hilia took out the Divine Fragment, closed her eyes, and listened to Rose’s guidance.
Following Rose’s instructions, she gently released her spiritual power, resonating with the Divine Fragment; with this resonance, she slowly drew the divine power within into her body, then guided it together with her holy magic power through her other hand into Anarce, tracing a specific circuit, gradually nourishing Anarce’s body and condensing magic power.
The process was extremely taxing on spiritual power.
Luckily, once the Divine Fragment resonated with her spirit, it partly restored spiritual power, allowing Hilia to keep healing.
About two hours later, Hilia’s lips were pale as she slowly stopped treatment.
Benovia asked with concern, "How is it? Is she cured?"
Hilia rubbed her head, took a deep breath, and slowly exhaled, "Yeah, it’s done—her magic power is back, though it’s empty and needs her to replenish it herself. Her physical wounds need long-term treatment, and her soul’s stabilized, but will also need time to fully recover."
Benovia nodded, amazed, "Hi... you’re incredible. I wonder what else there is that we don’t know about."
Without waiting for Hilia to reply, Benovia winked, "I get it—it’s all the God’s blessing."
Hilia: "..."
"Yeah..."
This moment, Anarce let out a weak sound, slowly opening her eyes.
The two looked over; Hilia was about to step closer but remembered her disguise and quickly stopped.
As Benovia went over to check, Hilia pretended not to know Anarce, telling Benovia, "Alright, your friend’s treatment is finished. I’ll leave now."
"Okay, thank you, Priest Lady." Benovia winked.
Hilia nodded and was about to leave when Benovia called out, "Oh, Priest Lady, could you get Hilia for me? Tell her Anarce’s awake."
Hilia paused, then nodded, "Alright."
Leaving the treatment room, Hilia hurried out of the Divine Hall, to the empty street, found a secluded spot, scanned with her spiritual power to confirm no one was around, then returned to her own appearance and went back to the treatment room.
"Anarce, you’re finally awake."
Anarce saw Hilia, and her gaze flickered a bit, "Hilia, I’m sorry..."
Hilia smiled, "No need to apologize, you were brave!"
Anarce was stunned, her expression complex.
"Thank you..."
"You should thank Benovia—she brought you to Huijin Divine Hall for treatment, and found an unbelievably skilled priest for you."
Anarce turned to Benovia, "Thank you, Benovia..."
"You’ve already paid me, no need to thank," Benovia smiled gently.
Just then, the door creaked open, and Phil walked in. Seeing Anarce awake, his eyes widened.
"How did you wake up?"
