Chapter 337: Chapter 208: They’re All Trash

The Immortal Mansion Secret Realm had its own inner workings, teleporting entrants to different areas based on their Cultivation Realm.

But this wasn’t true for everyone.

Some, blessed with extraordinary luck, were sent directly to its deepest parts.

Ji Yifei, for instance, had appeared right beside the coffin the moment he entered.

Information about the layout, the furnishings, and the general situation of this place flooded his mind like a tide. He also became aware of the rules governing the areas outside this chamber.

To obtain his own destined opportunity, he needed to act as a guide, introducing this place to those who arrived.

If someone took a specific treasure, he would receive a portion of the inheritance.

For him, this was a massive opportunity.

He didn’t care what the inheritance was, nor did he plan on practicing its techniques.

After all, the Immortal Sects operated under a strict order; he had to climb the ladder one step at a time.

But he could turn the inheritance over to the Sect. If it proved useful, he’d be able to study it for free.

The resources he would gain would be enough to give him a chance to enter the Sect’s inner circle and become a Direct Disciple.

But as for what this "specific treasure" was, he still had no clue.

Despite repeated investigations, he couldn’t find the slightest trace of it.

Just as he was lost in thought, the heavy stone door groaned and was slowly pushed open.

He saw a person who was at once familiar and yet a complete stranger.

The man’s silhouette seemed familiar, but a closer look revealed a total stranger.

His horrifying appearance, in particular, made Ji Yifei think he had just climbed out of a coffin.

’But this person had definitely arrived too early.’

Ji Yifei took a deep breath, suppressed his surging astonishment, and asked, "How did you get here?"

Jiang Man replied, confused, "I came down from above."

"I know you came down from above, but why were you so fast?" Ji Yifei asked.

Jiang Man answered truthfully, "I came down as soon as I was done fighting."

Ji Yifei stared at Jiang Man, calculated the time, and couldn’t help but ask, "You only fought for a day? Did you take some kind of shortcut? Did you break the rules?"

Normally, it would be impossible to finish in a single day, unless someone had used forbidden means.

Of course, there was no such thing as "breaking the rules" within the Immortal Mansion itself, but it would be considered a violation by the Sects.

You wouldn’t be held accountable here, but you definitely would be once you got out.

"Couldn’t it just be that I’m too strong?" Jiang Man felt the other man was being prejudiced.

Ji Yifei didn’t believe him. However, the more he looked at Jiang Man, the more familiar he seemed.

So, he asked for his name.

’I guess I’m not that much of a genius after all,’ Jiang Man thought. ’He didn’t even recognize me.’

When he stated his name, Ji Yifei froze.

He was incredulous. "Weren’t you only at the Early Stage of Golden Core?"

’This guy has a pretty rigid impression of me,’ Jiang Man thought.

’Still, if we were to fight, I’m not sure I’d be a match for him in my current condition.’

’Besides, he got here too, didn’t he?’

’Is he also an Unparalleled Celestial Pride?’

Jiang Man marveled internally.

Ji Yifei: "..."

He took a deep breath. "This is a tomb. You are currently in a place where its master specifically left behind opportunities. As for whether he himself is lying in the coffin, you can speculate on your own."

"And I will be your guide to this place, helping you select a treasure that suits your needs."

"Can I touch it?" Jiang Man asked.

’Touch it?’ Ji Yifei fell silent for a moment before saying, "You may."

Jiang Man then walked over to the coffin and asked casually, "So you’re the guide here? You didn’t have to fight your way in?"

"The moment I entered the Immortal Mansion, I was already here. I’ve been waiting for the rest of you to make your way down. You’re the first one."

"So, you really didn’t break any rules?" Ji Yifei asked, his curiosity piqued.

Jiang Man shook his head, signaling that he hadn’t.

Ji Yifei didn’t seem to care much. "Whether you did or not is actually very easy to confirm. We’ll know for sure if the Law Enforcement Hall comes looking for you once you’re out."

Jiang Man: "..."

’The Law Enforcement Hall really is going to come looking for me.’

Putting the thought aside, Jiang Man stood before the coffin and placed his hand on its lid.

It was an icy touch, like laying a hand on thousand-year-old glacial ice.

He then activated the Celestial Mirror Hundred Books.

The pages of the book flipped, finally stopping on the last page.

Words began to materialize.

*A coffin containing an inheritance, awaiting an heir of the bloodline. Others cannot obtain the inheritance through normal means. Barely worth mentioning.*

Jiang Man: "..."

’An inheritance coffin?’

’The lack of an illustration means it’s not a top-tier item.’

"Did you find out anything by touching it?" Ji Yifei asked, watching Jiang Man.

Seeing Jiang Man’s serious expression, he had a gut feeling that the man could actually learn something just by touching it.

"The inheritance of the Immortal Mansion is almost certainly in here," Jiang Man said, his words a mix of truth and lies. "You can try opening it. You might just be the one to receive the inheritance."

Ji Yifei was rather surprised. ’The inheritance is in the coffin?’

’Is that true?’

He couldn’t be sure, but his curiosity got the better of him. "Then why don’t you open it?"

"This inheritance isn’t worthy of me," Jiang Man said with a hint of disdain.

Ji Yifei froze. For a moment, the prize he had been so desperately pursuing suddenly seemed less appealing.

’Does this person really look down on the inheritance that much?’

"What else is in this place?" Jiang Man asked, glancing around.

"The master of this tomb was known as the East Traveling True Immortal," Ji Yifei began, his voice taking on a recitative quality. "He was blessed with an immortal fate from birth, and his Cultivation progressed at a staggering pace. After reaching a certain level of power, he slew demons in the east, vanquished evil spirits in the west, and brought peace to the land. However, his greatest achievement was determined by another event. While he was suppressing demons and monsters, he encountered an Immortal."

"The Immortal was clad in white and wielded a seven-foot Long Sword."

"With a single strike of his sword, he sundered the heavens and annihilated a Great Demon that terrorized the lands."

"The sheer magnificence of that sword strike was so vast it sparked an epiphany within him, leading to his comprehension of the East Ascension Divine Travel Technique."

"From then on, his progress was unstoppable, and he eventually ascended to the rank of True Immortal."

"Just when he thought he could finally seek out that Immortal and thank him as an equal, he instead encountered the most terrifying despair of his life."

"He once said that before his own ascension, seeing that Immortal was like a frog in a well gazing at the moon. But after he became an Immortal, seeing that same person was like a mayfly gazing upon the vast, blue heavens."

"In his entire life, he never managed to exchange a single word with him."

"This endless regret and despair led him to comprehend a new technique: the Nine Revolutions Moon Gazing Technique."

"Even at the very end of his life, his one wish was still to thank that Immortal."
