Chapter 175: The calamity 7
A hailstorm of metal spikes pierced through the air with speed that displaced the air, leaving in their wake a loud boom. Damon bent his back almost parallel to the ground, and the spikes flew overhead.
The heretic meanwhile disappeared from from he spot and appeared before Damon’s rising form, and drew her fist back. Her fist met his guts the moment he rose back.
Bang!!
A dull sound echoed as Damon got folded in half before the heretic’s fist burst into his guts. A geyser of metal spikes burst out from Damon’s body in a violent explosion of gore, tearing him to pieces.
Anastasia instantly appeared behind the elf, her sword piercing towards the heretic’s heart, but alas, the heretic ducked under the sword, materializing another metal spike in her hand before swinging it at Anastasia’s legs.
Suddenly, both the heretic and the metal spike she was swinging slowed down just enough for Anastasia to flicker backwards. At that same moment, Anastasia made a swing of her sword.
"Stillwater severance."
The heretic instantly withdrew the hand she used to swing the spike at Anastasia, but it was too late. Anastasia’s attack split the heretic’s arm perfectly in two from the fingers up to the shoulder.
"You brat!" the heretic scowled, launching herself at Anastasia, a metal spike materializing in the hand that Anastasia had split in two which was already healing in less than a second. However, inches before the spike made contact with Anastasia’s head, a mirror like blade appeared in heretic’s vision.
"Fall!"
Damon’s calm voice fell as his sword cut through the heretic’s shoulder like a hot knife through tofu.
Thud!
The arm fell to the floor with a dull sound. Damon however, didn’t just stop there. His sword transitioned into an upward swing, trying to take off the heretic’s head in one swing.
However, he was severely underestimate the tenacity of a Zeta ranked, not to mention a heretic on top of that. The elven woman completely ignored her severed stump that had already begun squirming and caught Damon’s mirror like blade firmly with her bare hand.
The blade cut into her palm for a few inches, drawing blood, before it stopped.
Damon put strength and exerted the muscles in his arms, but the sword refused to budge. Anastasia moved forward, her sword inching closer to the heretic’s head, but the woman, still holding Damon’s sword in her hand spun on her heel along with Damon and kicked towards the redhead.
Anastasia activated her ability, slowing down the heretic, but the attack had been too sudden and too fast.
Anastasia’s sword broke into fragments on impact, sending shrapnel flying.
At the same time, another Damon flickered behind the heretic, but instead of trying to behead her, he spread his arms and embraced the elven woman’s waist from behind.
The Damon whose sword she held also abandoned the sword in her grasp and held onto her arm. The heretic tried to break free but another Damon appeared and held onto her legs.
"Let me go, you filthy pests!" The heretic roared in protest as her second arm which Damon had severed regenerated, but another Damon appeared and held onto that arm also.
"Do it now!!" All the Damons roared simultaneously.
The moment Damon shouted that, Rose appeared before the heretic with her hand outstretched towards the heretic. A bead of highly compressed and concentrated flames took form in her outstretched palm.
Before Rose could shoot it however, multiple metal spikes materialized mid air behind the Damon’s holding the heretic in place and pierced through them from the back to the front.
Keuk!
A grunt escaped all the Damons as they simultaneously spat out blood, but they still refused to let go of the heretic.
That scene of the spikes piercing through Damon seemed to make Rose hesitate, but one of the Damons turned to her and shouted;
"DO ITTTTTTT!!"
"NOOOOOOO!!!" The heretic roared frantically. She very well knew that should that attack land, she was a goner. Even her regeneration wouldn’t be able to overpower the sheer scale of damage that addack would deal.
Rose uncaring about the heretic’s protests, released the bead to the heretic’s chest at point blank.
BOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!
It looked like a nuclear weapon had been detonated. A annihilating explosion swept through the area, followed by a searing heatwave that blew both Anastasia and Rose herself away from the area.
Damon felt his skin burn off his flesh, before his flesh was burnt off his bones. That was the last input Damon got from the reflections holding the heretic in place.
The phantom burn still clung to Damon, but he ignored the pain and made another reflection who rushed to catch Rose mid air, while his main body flickered to catch Anastasia.
Both Damon and his reflection landed holding the girls, and skidding back a little from the force.
"Are you alright?" Both the Damon’s asked the girls.
"Let go of me." Rose muttered, pushing Damon’s chest away, and landing on her feet.
"Unhand me this instant." Anastasia did the same and pushed Damon aside.
"Ungrateful women." Damon muttered to himself, before turning in the direction where the explosion happened.
He swung his sword at the smoke obscuring the area using the third art of his technique. Apowerful gale swept through the area and successfully dispersed the smoke.
When the spoke disappeared, there was nothing left of the heretic, be it a corpse or hell, even her ahes. There was nothing. More importantly, there at the centre of the point where the bead made contact with the heretic, the ground had melted slightly.
Damon stared at the patch of slightly melted ground for a moment, and couldn’t help but marvel at the sheer intensity of Rose’s flames. This was a building supposed to be made of Delta ranked material, and Rose managed to melt it, even if slightly.

"Ready for a round two?" the demon grinned as the sword clattered on the ground.
Alistair and the others paled at the sight of the seemingly unharmed demon. It wasn’t that they didn’t know that a heretic had insane regeneration. It was just that they had just managed to deal and attack to the demon for the first time.
But the demon outright shrugged it off and healed right in front of their very eyes.
Alistair began to have doubts. Could they truly defeat this being in front of them? The demon just seemed... way out of their league.
"Getting second thoughts are we?" The demon continues grinning. "Too bad I don’t have any. You all will meet your end today, and at my hand I tell you. Hahahahahahaha!" He cackled.
Before the words of the demon could get to them,
"Tempest wheel!"
A halberd swept towards the heretic’s torso from behind in a blue horizontal arc.
Shiiing!
The sound of steel cutting into flesh sounded as the halberd cut through the heretic’s waist stopping short of his spine.
But it wasn’t because Fabian wished to stop it, but because the heretic extended his arm onto the halberd’s pole and held it firm in place just short of his spine.
"So you still draw breath." The heretic turned to Fabian with gritted teeth.
The moment Aric saw the heretic’s attention turning away from them and towards Fabian, he willed his shadow tentacles to move.
The shadow tentacles shot from towards the heretic, wrapping themselves around his left side, anchoring him to the ground.
The moment the heretic turned, Amyra followed suit, her water taking the shape of tentacles and wrapping themselves to the heretic’s right side.
"This..." the heretic said, exerting his strength. "...Is..." he continued as the shadow and water tentacles began to break. "...Futile..."
His expression soon changed however as Fabian released control of his halberd and jumped towards the heretic, wrapping himself around the heretic in a piggy back ride.
The heretic’s clothing disintegrated the moment they came in contact with Fabian’s skin.
"Arrrrrrrrrghhhhhhh!"
The demon let out a painful wail as he felt his body begin to break down bit by bit. The contact between his back and Fabian’s chest, not to mention Fabian’s arms that were around the heretics neck were too much for the demon’s regeneration to eclipse.
Worse, he felt that should he keep staying in that position, he would eventually lose out and crumble to dust.
Aric and Amyra seeing his struggle, reinforced their respective binds, preventing the heretic from budging from his spot, but the demon’s strength was stronger than they thought. The tentacles binding him kept breaking as he exerted the might of his physical body.
They gritted their teeth. They couldn’t afford to let him break free because of he did, he would effortlessly throw Fabian off of himself.
The didn’t have to worry about that though, because at that moment, Alistair took that as his chance. His spear glowed a rich golden color and disappeared from his spot on a violent displacement of air.
He arrived before the heretic near instantly.
"Final thrust!!"
His spear stabbed straight towards the heretic’s head.
Fabian instantly let go of the heretic, giving the heretic enough time to regain himself and break out of the binds, but alas, it was too late.
Bang!!
The heretic’s head exploded, and so did a significant portion of his torso.
The rest of the body meanwhile slowly tilted backwards, before landing with a loud thud.
