Chapter 334: All to myself

"Be serious. If you want to go out to get some fresh air, I will take you,’’ Daisy gave him a look but a rosiness tinted her cheeks.

’’I was not going to get air or anything. I was looking for you,’’ Ryle met her gaze.

Daisy’s heart skipped a beat. She instinctively broke eye contact and went behind the wheelchair, pushing him back to his room, ’’Didn’t you say you can’t chase me if I leave?"

’’I meant that I won’t be able to walk or run after you. But so what? I still have a wheelchair,’’ Ryle clicked his tongue, ’’If I don’t have it, I would crawl to you.’’

When Daisy did not respond to the man, he tilted his head back to meet her gaze.

’’You don’t trust me? I...’’

’’Ryle,’’ Daisy called out his name the moment she pushed him inside the hospital room.

Ryle continued meeting her gaze with his head tilted back while she held his wheelchair.

But suddenly, darkness descended in front of his vision.

Daisy covered his eyes with her palm.

’’When we were in Kingsley mansion, there were a lot of things I wanted to say to you after we got out of there. But recently, I have realized that most of them are not important anymore. There is only one thing that matters.’’

With his eyes covered, Ryle could only hear her soft words.

He wanted to tell her that anything related to her mattered to him but as if she knew what he would do, she covered his mouth with her palm.

Ryle could not help but smirk.

She did not want him to look at her when she spoke and she did not want him to interrupt her either. She wanted full control. Such a Daisy move!

’’I love you, Ryle.’’

Ryle froze.

All his wayward thoughts flew out of the window.

’’I don’t know when it started but I think I always have loved you.’’

Daisy inhaled a deep breath, ’’When I had to take over the position of the CEO, many things had bothered me at that time. But one of them was that I’d have to part from you. You will end being there in the US and I will be here in Beijing.’’

’’But, I never really allowed myself to express it. I have a lot of responsibilities and I was afraid I would be imposing them on you as well. I didn’t want to burden you at all...’’

Ryle grabbed her wrist and pulled the woman forward gently.

Once she stood in front of him, he met her gaze, ’’That was then... What about now?"

Daisy licked her bottom lips, ’’Now, I don’t care anymore. As long as you are willing, I just want to have you,’’ she cupped the side of his face, stroking the cuts on his skin, ’’All to myself.’’

’’What if I am not willing?"

His words made her movements stop.

’’When I was running away from you all those years ago, you chased me like a crazy stalker. It is only fair I return the sentiment,’’ she smiled a little, ’’If you are not willing, then I will have to keep you against your will.’’

Ryle looked at her seriously.

Daisy’s heart dropped a little.

She moved to retract her hand.

He grabbed it, ’’Princess, I might never stand up again.’’

Daisy blinked, ’’You just said you’d crawl to me. Was that a lie?"

’’Daisy, I am not joking. You deserve...’’

’’Neither am I...’’ Daisy bent to his height and freed her hand from his grip. She cupped his face with both her hands, ’’I am not joking either, Ryle. I deserve you, do I not?" she whispered softly.

When Ryle looked at her eyes, all he saw in them was himself.

It knocked his breath out.

He wanted this woman to be ingrained in his bones, imprinted deeply into his very existence.

Daisy tilted her chin to kiss his forehead but the moment her lips touched his forehead, he grabbed her neck and pulled her down.

Ryle captured her lips in a passionate kiss. By the time they parted, both of them were panting softly.

’’Don’t regret it then...’’

’’I won’t...’’ As Daisy was straightening up, her phone slipped to the ground.

She got down on her knees to pick it.

At this moment, the door opened from the outside.

’’Ah!" The nurses squealed.

’’It really seems like he had recovered,’’ Maxim remarked calmly.

At the door, Diana, Maxim, Caleb, the doctor and the nurses were all standing.

Some looked speechless. Some had their jaws dropped.

From their angle, all they could see was the back of the wheelchair with Ryle’s head slightly tilted back while Daisy’s upper body wasn’t visible. Only, she could be seen kneeling, one of her hands resting on the arm of the wheelchair.

’’This... This... This...’’ The doctor stuttered for a long time.

’’I heard you said he will take time to recover,’’ Diana gave him a look, ’’Are you sure you didn’t misdiagnose him?"

The doctor aptly shut his mouth. He knew that the lady still did him a favor by saying that. Because in reality, he had not said that the patient will take time to recover, but rather the patient might not make it at all.

And now not only did the patient make it but he seemed to be ’taking’ it as well.

The doctor wiped his sweat.

’’Let’s just wait outside,’’ Caleb cleared his throat.

Before the door could close, Daisy stood up, ’’Where are you all going?"

Everyone looked at each other, rather red-faced.

’’Giving you space,’’ Maxim said calmly.

’’Space?" Daisy blinked.

’’That’s enough,’’ Ryle moved the wheelchair around and glared at Maxim.

Maxim rolled his eyes.

’’You... What kind of a best friend are you? I almost...’’ Ryle trailed off, not mentioning the word ’died’ lest Daisy abandoned him for real this time.

Maxim was holding little Elias in his arms. The boy was a sleepyhead who was stirred awake by the chaos but then he went back to sleep again.
