Chapter 321: Stabbed

The entire Master bedroom was covered in blood. The pool of blood trailed from the snow white rug to the other side of the bed that could not be seen from where they stood.

’’It cannot be...’’ Daisy inhaled deep breath, ’’If...’’

Ryle grabbed her hand and gave it a firm squeeze, ’’Come...’’

Daisy closed her eyes and composed herself before following his lead. When they reached the other side of the bed, her heart dropped.

Diana was lying in the corner where the king-sized bed and the bedside table touched and a little distance from her was a man who was lying on the floor on his back, his eyes wide open. This man was none other than the captain of the guards who had been missing when they entered the door.

He had three gunshot wounds, starting from his chest to his stomach. ’’He is dead...’’ Ryle mumbled. They did not even have to step closer to him to confirm his death.

’’Check Ana...’’ Daisy mumbled in a hoarse voice as she slowly turned her head to the side. There was a bulge in the blankets that was splayed on the large bed.

’’She is fine...’’ Ryle checked Diana’s pulse but as his gaze trailed down, he noticed a wound on her arm that was still bleeding, ’’She was shot...’’

Daisy leaned forward and removed the blankets, revealing the soundly sleeping baby boy. Nobody in the entire building was alerted and the child still managed to sleep through the chaos. It only meant that the other party had made their arrangements well.

Daisy staggered back, ’’They took Angel with them...’’ Before Ryle could say another word, she continued, ’’Take Diana to the hospital first. Take Eli as well. We cannot leave him here,’’ Her voice was calmer this time.

Ryle’s jaws clenched. The implication in her words was obvious. She would be looking for Angel alone but when he turned to look at Diana who seemed to be hanging by a thread, no words came out of his mouth. Because he knew that at this moment, they could only unconditionally trust each other and work together.

Daisy picked up the sleeping child who was stirred awake by the movements and started crying. Ryle carried Diana as they made their way out of the building.

On the way, they attracted a few gazes of the people who were around but Ryle walked past everyone, making his way towards his car.

’’Boss...’’ Benjamin looked at the scene in disbelief.

’’Hurry up.’’

Once Ryle helped the unconscious Diana on the backseat, Daisy handed the little boy to him.

Their gazes met and wordlessly, Ryle cupped her face and pressed his lips to her forehead, ’’No matter what, wait for me.’’ He whispered.

As the car disappeared from her view, Daisy pulled out her phone. With her fingers shaking, she tried to dial a number but at this moment, a sports car cut in front of her.

"Miss Chen!" The glass lowered and John’s face appeared into her view. He quickly got out of the car and held the door for her.

’’What are you doing here?" The man was taking care of Ryle’s sister in the mansion. How did he end up coming here?

’’Master texted me the moment things seemed suspicious...’’ The man bowed his head a little.

’’Thank you...’’ Daisy got inside the car and sped up while her fingers hovered on the phone, typing a string of unsaved numbers.

...

’’What? What did you say?!" Si Yena narrowed her eyes at the man who had dropped to his knees on the floor, ’’Chen Lina! I provided you with resources and money while cozying up to that old man there and these are the kind of men you have arranged to do my job?"

Chen Lina lowered her head. She had indeed been lowkey all this time. While Si Yena was living with Nathan Kingsley, Chen Lina had stayed in Beijing, making necessary arrangements for their grand scheme.

’’Don’t just stand there like a bloody mute! Speak now.’’

’’It was under unforeseen circumstances that my people hurt Diana. It doesn’t matter that much, does it?" Chen Lina sighed, ’’It’s not like you haven’t intentionally hurt the people around Daisy before?"

’’I can do it. You cannot!" Si Yena snapped, ’’What if she refuses to come? What... then?"

Chen Lina found the woman a little crazy in the head but since she had joined hands for this cooperation already, it was too late to back out. She turned to the man who was kneeling on the floor, ’’Why did you hurt the woman there?"

’’She...’’ The man shivered, ’’She was putting up a lot of fight. If we delayed any further, we would have alerted everything and things could have been chaotic so we shot her... But, we shot her arm. At most, she will lose that arm if they manage to save her at time..’’

"See, they did a good job... didn’t they?" Chen Lina laughed lightly, ’’Don’t forget what we have in our hands. For that, Daisy Chen will come. She will come crawling.’’

Si Yena looked at the sky, ’’How are the arrangements so far?"

’’All the arrangements have been made. We can leave the country now...!"

One day later in Beijing.

In front of a dilapidated mansion, a motorcycle came to a halt. The person who drove it was dressed in a bodysuit and leather jacket and a black helmet that hid their face. The person alighted the motorcycle. After analyzing the cold looking mansion in front of them, the person stepped forward.

On their entire way, the person did not stop even once. As if they were familiar with every nook and cranny of the place, they continued moving forward.

They only stopped when they reached the towering doors of the mansion. They placed their palm atop it and with a soft nudge, the door opened.

The person paused for a moment before slowly stepping inside.

’’Finally, you are here...’’ An excited voice reverberated in the empty mansion.
