Chapter 319: She tricked them
Daisy fell silent for a while. She sighed and turned to him, ’’If she knows that you have looked for her for years, she would understand you. Her sufferings were not your fault. Both of you just happened to be short of luck.’’
And Daisy understood this closely. When she had lost Angel, she had blamed herself for so long for trusting Si Yena. But when she got to know that Diana had protected Angel and took care of her, it healed a part of her she did not know was hurt.
Over time, she stopped drowning in self blame and realized that what happened was not her fault. She just made a mistake of trusting the wrong person.
"Come with me. This is not the only reason I brought you here,’’ With a glint in his eyes, he pulled her towards the wardrobe.

5 am.
"How do I look?" Daisy questioned the man when they landed in LA.
’’Sweetheart, this is the fifth time you have asked me this question. What is it? You can’t get tired of listening to my compliments?"
Daisy elbowed the man slightly, making him groan as she averted her gaze and looked at the peach summer dress she had worn. It was elegant yet homely. Since she had gone there disguised as a maidservant, she had not taken many things with her. Ryle let her wear his mother’s clothes instead.
After they had their dinner, they took some rest and set out for Los Angeles without any delay.
Usually, Daisy would not be as bothered about what she wore or how she looked. But it was precisely because he praised her endlessly that she was drowning in self doubt.
’’If your mother was around, she would not be too pleased with me borrowing her clothes like this, would she?" Daisy looked at him questioningly and got into the car when he opened the door for her.
’’Of course, she would be pleased with her future daughter-in-law wearing her clothes like this.’’
’’What did you say?" His whispered words got lost in the wind so she questioned him when he entered the other side of the car.
’’I said my mother was a generous person. She would not mind.’’
Daisy relaxed in her seat.
’’Moreover, with how beautiful you look...’’
Daisy slapped her palm on his mouth, preventing her from showering compliments on her again. Everytime she was around this man, her usual thick skin ceased to exist.
Benjamin was in the driver’s seat. Suddenly stuffed with the mouthful of dog food, his face puffed, looking awkwardly constipated.
"Boss, we have already made arrangements for the servants. They would be settled comfortably when they move.’’
Ryle nodded indifferently, holding Daisy’s palm that covered his mouth.
As he played with her palm, she leaned into his touch, ’’So, you made arrangements for them.’’
’’It’s a trifle.’’
For someone who plays tough, he is surely a softie. Daisy thought to herself as she pulled out her phone and called Diana’s number.
’’Let’s drive over to their place first,’’ Ryle suggested, to which Daisy nodded.
Ryle sighed. He had to go to his mention and talk to his sister about this entire affair. Years of anticipation had finally resulted in him finding her but at this juncture, he was overwhelmed with a sense of anxiety that he had not felt before. He did not know how to face her or what to tell her.
And in a moment like, he felt like having Angel in his arms would feel like a natural courage boost.
When Daisy moved in his arms, Ryle snapped out of his thoughts and looked at her, ’’What is it? Is Diana not answering the call?"
’’It is to be expected,’’ Daisy sighed, ’’It is not even 6 am yet. At this hour, neither Angel nor Ana are in this land.’’
Ryle chuckled, ’’You are right. Just call Maxim then.’’
The piercing sound of a phone ringing interrupted the light ambience in the car. Benjamin answered the call, ’’Hello... What?" His tone took a sudden turn, sounding solemn with every word he uttered.
By the time he hung up, his face was sombre, ’’Boss, our people found three dead bodies below a cliff. They were beyond recognizable but they could recognize two of them as Nathan and Maria.’’
’’What about Si Yena?"
"The third person was dressed like Si Yena and from a distance, she looked like her as well. But up so close, our people can confirm that it is not her. They were tricked,’’ Benjamin’s voice dropped, ’’Si Yena has never been there or... she has long escaped by placing a dispensable double in her place.’’
The phone in Daisy’s hand trembled.
Ryle tightened his hold on her hand and pulled her into his arms, ’’I will protect you both. I promise.’’

"You came back an hour ago after a long surgery and you have barely caught a wink of sleep. Now, you are rushing back to hospital again,’’ Diana tucked the kids who were sleeping in the middle of the King-sized bed and approached Maxim who was dressing up.
’’I am fine,’’ Maxim turned to her after he buttoned up his shirt. He grabbed her hand and pulled her, capturing her lips in a gentle kiss, ’’But seeing you like this, I do not feel like going anywhere, you know?"
’’Sweet talker,’’ Diana attempted to push him away but the man pulled her in for a passionate kiss.
’’The hospital has undergone a lot of changes after the past events and they are now short of staff. Alex has been more unruly than before so he barely takes responsibility. This is an important surgery so I will have to go.’’
Alex was Maxim’s half brother and the man had always been quite an unpredictable one with all his mood swings. So even without Maxim explaining anything, Diana understood that for him to be overworking like this, the situation at the hospital must be rather chaotic.
