’’I will take that as a yes,’’ she bent her body and blew him a kiss before walking out of the door.

Lu Xian tugged his hair with a tad bit of a greater force. Fuck Fuck Fuck! As if he would do what the woman had asked him to do.
He got up, ready to look for his clothes that should have been strewn somewhere around the floor but finding none, he paused.
Just as he was about to walk to the bathroom, he spotted his clothes near the bedside table, neatly folded.
Lu Xian halted in his tracks for a few seconds before he walked towards the bedside table and dressed up.
Lu Xian gathered his things and walked towards the door but just as he was about to open the door, there was a knock.
He stepped back, his palm settling on the pistol that he always carried with him. The door opened from outside and a man strode in, dressed in the uniform of the staff members in the place, ’’Good afternoon, sir. We have prepared the brunch for you.’’
Lu Xian loosened his grip on the pistol and stood there quietly until the man finished serving the food and left the room.
He had just taken a step forward again when his stomach made a ’grrr’ that had him halt in his tracks.
In the end, Lu Xian found himself walking back to the couch. Whatever it was, he could leave after eating something, was what he had thought but the moment he took a seat and glanced at the table, he froze.
Every dish that was served on the table was his favorite.

In another room of the same hotel.
"It’s a good thing you are doing here. He might seem like an abandoned pawn, a dog who is down and out but he is rather useful. There is no denying that,’’ Chen Lina clicked her tongue as she turned to look at the veiled woman, ’’I won’t lie to you. I like the way Lu Xian is now, so pathetic and lost. He has fallen from his high pedestal.’’
’’You do hate him a lot, don’t you?"
’’Hate is an understatement to what I feel for the lot of them. I had initially trusted Lu Xian. My dear cousin left his all to this daughter who came out of nowhere and started taking charge and control. Si Yena lifted her gaze and looked at the woman, dead in the eyes, ’’Anything else?"
Chen Lina turned pale. There was something about the current Si Yena that was unnerving in a whole strange way. She had met her in the past but back then, she just seemed like a harmless beautiful heiress.
The night when Chen Lina had lost everything and someone came to her to crack a deal with her, she had not expected a lot. She had clutched onto that hand out of desperation but as they worked together, Chen Lina knew that it wouldn’t be long before her dreams were realized, as the other person was equally determined to destroy all that Daisy Chen was.
She had not known who the other party was as the person always remained behind the veil. It remained that way until one particular night. The whole day, there were headlines about the fire in Si Mansion that burned everyone to death and the night settled in with gloomy weather. Chen Lina had just gotten to bed when there was a knock on the door. When she opened the door, the woman walked in and dropped the veil to the floor.
That was the moment Chen Lina was shell shocked, ’You’re... Si Yena? You...’ Wasn’t she dead? Why was she here? Why did she suddenly reveal herself?
Myriad thoughts crossed her mind and all went unanswered until the woman opened her mouth, ’You call me by my name now so I do not die too, alright?’
And Chen Lina had a hunch in that moment that twisted her guts. The Si Family ended in the hands of their own daughter.
