Chapter 245: Ryle Harper was ignoring her
’’Angel has become too attached to you. She is perceptive and I should have...’’
’’Shh...’’ Seeing her conflicted face, Ryle was bewildered. Here he was waiting for her to blame him but it seemed like she... was worried about what he thought.
"Don’t make it sound like I am a passerby in your lives. It won’t settle,’’ his tone settled with a light threat.
’’You don’t mind?" Daisy was slightly taken aback.
Out of all the times, she had not expected Angel to call Ryle ’daddy’ today.
They had recently started dating and while Ryle adored Angel, she would not blame him if he got burdened by this way of addressing or if he felt restrained.
Angel, to her, was the most precious treasure but the same might not be the case for any man she dated. And in that ’any man she dated’ category, she could not visualize anyone other than Ryle for some reason.
Ryle cared for Angel, he pampered her and was sincere to her and Daisy was already content.
’’Why... do you think I would mind?" Ryle wanted to open that beautiful head of hers and see how it worked. Fuck, all guilt apart, his heart tripped when Angel looked at him so adorably and called him ’daddy’.
So what if she was not his biological daughter?
The way his heart melted and turned into a puddle when she called him daddy, he knew he was a goner.
He knew if Angel called him daddy and asked him to get the world at her feet, he would.
’’We are... We have just recently become exclusive,’’ Daisy was not experienced in relationships but just because she had not eaten pork did not mean that she had never seen a pig, ’’I don’t want you to think that I am trying to force labels. On you and me. And I don’t want you to feel burdened. We can be casual...’’
Her words were yet to finish when he grabbed her wrist and yanked her to him.
Before Daisy could say another word, she was carried in his arms.
With a few huge strides, Ryle crossed the hallway behind the living room, out of everyone’s sight.
Daisy was sort of amused at the way he strode like this was his place.
’’We are guests here,’’ she whispered.
But in the next moment, she was pinned to the wall, ’’Do I look like I care?"
Only then did she notice that Ryle’s face was abnormally tense, his brows were knitted in a deep frown.
’’What...’’ a gasp escaped her mouth when he captured her throat with one hand, eyes narrowing.
His thumb caressed her pulse and a shudder slithered in her body as he pressed his torso to her body, not leaving an inch of gap between them.
’’There is no you and I, Daisy. It’s us.’’
His voice was deep and she noticed he was not using one of the nicknames he had given her.
Instead, he called her by her name.
’’I don’t like it...’’ she lowered her gaze. She was hesitant to say it out loud, to confess that she liked it when he called her in his own way. But after a few seconds, she lifted her eyes and met his gaze, ’’Don’t call me by name. I don’t like it,’’ her eyes narrowed.
’’You don’t like that? Can’t you see how I adore it when you say we are casual?" he choked her, firm enough to lift that head of hers to look into the pair of defiant eyes that held him spellbound but gentle enough to not hurt in the slightest.
Daisy held her breath, feeling something strange tingling and growing in her body at his rough touch.
’’You want us to fuck? We will fuck. You want us to cuddle? We will cuddle...’’ As he spoke, his lips brushed against hers with every word he uttered, ’’You want me to worship you? I will be at your fucking feet.’’
His fingers dug on the sides of her neck as his teeth caught her bottom lips in tight grip.
Her legs clenched together and she leaned forward, expecting a deeper kiss but the man freed his lips.
He pulled the sleeve of her dress, leaned in and buried his face in her neck, his teeth digging into the crook of her neck, biting her so deep and hard that she knew makeup would not hide this.
’’I will do whatever you want me to do. I will be whoever you want me to be. But you want to keep it casual between us? There is no way in hell!"
He licked the spot he just bit, his breath fanning her skin, ’’Force labels on us, sweetheart. I am more than willing. I will not be burdened. I will be fucking honored and I will wear it like a badge.’’
He pulled back from her.
The sudden loss of warmth snapped her out of her daze.
’’Ryle...’’ she called out to him but he had already turned around and walked away before she could continue her words.
Daisy tugged up the collar of her dress and followed the man out of the hallway, but he simply ignored her and walked to the living room. The man straight up walked back to the couch, pulled little Angel to his lap.
The little girl pulled his cheeks a few times before she shifted her attention to the telly.
And even as Daisy stood in front of Ryle’s face, he did not look at her.
Not even once.
In the utter helplessness that clouded her in that moment, Daisy had an epic realization of something very novel.
Ryle Harper was ignoring her.
Instead, his eyes were focused on the telly. She followed his gaze and glanced at ’Elsa’ who had occupied the screen.
A hint of displeasure flickered in her eyes, ’’They are just cartoons.’’
No reply.
’’What are you, 5?"
No reply.
’’Ryle!"
No reply.
Daisy’s lips twitched. She wanted to turn it off completely if not for her daughter who would go mad within an instant.
’’Hmm? What happened? Oh, is everyone watching Frozen? I love Elsa too..."
Daisy shot her a calm look, ’’What’s so good about her?"
Ivy, who had just walked back to the living room after finishing her phone call, trailed off when she noticed the strange atmosphere in the living room.
