Chapter 24: Coaxing a man into sharing the room
Daisy frowned, ’’I am taking the room.’’
The receptionist nodded her head like a hen, ’’Yes, of course, sir, you came first...’’
Ryle quirked a brow, ’’You are letting him take it, beautiful?"
’Beautiful?’
The receptionist felt like she was floating on clouds. She could brag to her friends that her life was no longer dry after being addressed by two handsome men so lovingly. She only regretted not recording it. But how could she have see this coming when she just came to her usual daily days of boring work?
The heavy pie that fell from the sky nearly crushed her to death.
Daisy was speechless. This man... Wasn’t he seducing that innocent girl just for the sake of a room? Men... Tsk. ’’I was here first. I get this room,’’ she stepped forward.
She was already exposed in front of Ryle and it was unfortunate that coincidentally, she was even dressed as Dexter at the moment so there was no opportunity for her to back out of the mess anymore.
’’I will pay double for it,’’ Ryle said without turning around.
Daisy narrowed her eyes, ’’Four times the original price,’’ All these years of side gigs and part-time jobs she had taken up would go down the drain if she could not afford the price of a motel room.
The receptionist was speechless. Not just handsome, these men were rich too. Oh my lord!
"8 times.’’
’’16 times,’’ Daisy’s fingers curled, this man had never looked so annoying to her before. If it was not because of finding Si Yena, then she would have left this place after throwing a punch at his face and breaking his nose.
’’32 times.... Well, no...’’ Ryle frowned as he turned around and leaned back on the reception desk as he sighed, ’’Call your manager,. We will start negotiating the contract.’’
The receptionist was stunned but she soon recovered her senses, ’’Uh... manager? Contract...?’’ Weren’t they raising the price of the last available room by the multiples of 8? Why did he stop? He couldn’t afford it?
As her heart started leaning towards her rich and suave Prince, she could not help but wonder what contract this poor Duke was talking about.
Daisy felt creeped out by the smirk that tugged up at the corner of Ryle’s lips.
To other girls, it might have looked charming and swoon-worthy. To her? It was downright creepy and it gave her the feeling that this man was not up to something good.
Ryle did not disappoint, ’’I am buying this motel.’’
The receptionist who had labelled the Ryle as poor in her heart: "_"
Secretary: "_"
Driver: "_"
Daisy was so angry that she almost spat a mouthful of blood. No human ever made her lose her composure to this extent. This place was not a 5-star hotel but buying this property was not coming at some cheaper cost. And even if she had money, she was not that wasteful prodigal ass who would do it.
The gears in her head started turning. It was still better to mess with the security system and sneak inside. Even though it involved a few risks but she could still avoid ending up in prison if she played it safe and remained cautious.
With that thought, she glanced at the receptionist, ’’Get him the manager, Princess.’’
The receptionist blushed harder. Her insides had melted like wax by now.
Daisy turned to look at Ryle. ’’And you, Young Master, since you love this place so much, I’m giving this up for you,’’ she tilted her head to the side and smiled lazily.
Ryle’s eyes widened when he saw that charming smile on that man’s face. It has been months, even more than a year. Unbeknownst to him, the tips of his ears were tinted red as he turned his face to the side A sudden thought occurred to him as he wondered whether men were supposed to be that pretty too...
From the corner of his eyes, he watched the man turning around to leave, ’’Stop right there.’’
Daisy turned around, ’’What is it?"
’’You want this room,’’ Ryle was taking a bet. He had been observing this guy since the moment he stepped inside the motel.
Initially, he had thought that he saw the wrong person on the road and there was no way that this guy would get dressed as a maid but apparently, his eyes did not fail him. He must have some weird cross-dressing hobbies.
Daisy frowned. Breaking into the security systems was time taking and tedious. Getting a room would still have been easier but...’’What has it got to do with you?"
"Well, I am here for work. Since this is the last room available, we can share. I am offering it as your kind ex-boss. Take it or leave it,’’ he shrugged casually as if any of this had nothing to do with him.
Benjamin, Ryle’s driver was speechless as he observed the scene. Why was there Boss not acting like the man who had been viciously hunting Dexter down in the past months?
Daisy fell silent. Staying in this place and hacking into the CCTV was much more convenient than residing at some other place and coming here to break in, getting past the humans and systems, finding her friend, and holding a conversation, all the while trying her best to not end up behind the bars. ’’Sure, I’d take it. Thanks,’’ she looked at Ryle.
Ryle paused and nodded, ’’Great then,’’ he turned to look at the receptionist who seemed to be waiting for the instructions, ’’No manager needed. Room keys.’’
He dropped the nickname as soon as he got what he want? Typical men. Daisy sighed when she saw the woman’s face dropping at Ryle’s aloof tone, ’’Thanks for the trouble, Princess.’’
The receptionist blushed.
Ryle was speechless. What a flirt!
Once they left, Ryle’s secretary looked at Benjamin, ’’Our boss.... Did he just coax another man into sharing a room with him?"
’’He... Of course, boss did that,’’ the driver mumbled, ’’He is no ordinary man.’’
’’What?" The woman was bewildered.
