Chapter 237: A goodbye kiss
The sleek, modern furniture and different zones for gaming genres added a touch of futuristic theme. There were separate relaxation areas at every juncture of the company and gaming themed subtle decors that enhanced the ambience.
’’It is still too early but I am glad to see your fascination.’’
Caleb’s words made Daisy turn to look at him, ’’Uncle has worked hard.’’
’’Don’t mention it,’’ the man shrugged, ’’In fact, I should be thanking you for this, Daisy.’’
Daisy glanced at the man.
’’I don’t remember the last time I had been so passionate about something. Not many get the opportunity to work on the dreams they had in their past,’’ Caleb said.
Angel had become too curious at certain elements in the company and Ryle, being her personal escort, excused himself to show her around.
But after a few turns, possibly at the reminder that he too was new here that he forgot in his excitement to show Angel around, he turned and motioned at Ivy to lead the way.
Caleb glanced at their retreating backs before leading Daisy to the resting area, ’’Your daughter is adorable.’’
Daisy smiled, which was a rarity on her face.
’’Children can be like that. They bring out a side of you that you might not know you possess."
Daisy nodded. After a momentary thought, she said, ’’I was surprised when I discovered that before this gaming company fell apart, you were the CEO. It was hard to picture the competent COO of Chen Corporations as the CEO of a gaming company that fell apart.’’
Caleb shook his head helplessly, ’’Eh... Tell me if I flipped your worldview now?"
Daisy ignored the man’s humor as she spoke, ’’It is not as hard to visualize the picture anymore.’’
Caleb fell silent as he averted his gaze.
After some time, he opened his mouth, ’’Girl, that man.. is the same one I saw in front of the company last time, right? The one you addressed as your boyfriend...?"
The man’s teasing intent had Daisy speechlessly, ’’Precisely,’’ Back then, Ryle was not really her boyfriend. She had casually said it because she intended to make him her boyfriend.
And she had thought it would not be hard. It was not hard. Except, she had not seen it coming that after ’boyfriending’ him up, she would be counting seconds every time she looked into his eyes to determine how in love she was.
Is... that they call puppy love?
But wasn’t she way past that stage and age?
However, which reasonable adult would count seconds of eye contact to determine their feelings?

Seeing Daisy’s distressed face at the mention of her boyfriend, Caleb chuckled, ’’Young people... Tsk.. They only know how to make us jealous.’’
Daisy arched a brow, ’’Last time, you said you are in the peak of your youth,’’ And honestly, he did look like he was in the peak of his youth, ’’If you want, I can have Secretary Han arrange blind dates for you.’’
Caleb choked on air. He looked at her in disbelief. Was Daisy Chen being humorous just now?
’’It has been barely some time since we last met. You seem like a different person.’’
’’Girl, why don’t you come over to my place for dinner tonight?"
As Daisy looked at him, he continued, ’’It has been quite some time since I flaunted the full extent of my culinary skills. And since all you kids are here, it will be good if all can come over.’’

After their visit to Elite, Secretary Han came to pick Daisy up. They headed off to Chen Corporations.
Ryle was supposed to tag along with Daisy to Chen Corporations but Angel was starting to doze off in his arms. So, Ryle suggested taking her back to the mansion.
Daisy had no qualms about it. If it was before, she would have felt upset over not being able to spend some more time with Angel. But after she was diagnosed with Thalassemia, Daisy had long learnt to prioritized Angel’s comfort above everything. Since she easily got exhausted and sleepy, Chen Corporations was not the ideal place for her.
Daisy leaned in and kissed Angel’s forehead, ’’Were you always this good with kids?’’
She looked at Ryle in amusement. Angel was the least fussy whenever he was around and surprisingly, he did not even have to do anything extra for that.
’’Kids are annoying,’’ Ryle remarked, a touch of frown on his face.
’’You are carrying one,’’ Daisy blinked.
’’Oh...’’ Ryle looked at Angel who leaned into the crook of his neck and glanced at her mother who was playing with the little girl’s fingers, ’’She is different.’’
’’You are just way too biased, Mr. Harper,’’ Daisy shook her head with a small smile, ’’Benjamin is already here. You should get going. I will see you later.’’
’’Wait,’’ Ryle grabbed her hand the moment she took a step away, ’’What about mine?"
’’Hmm?"
’’You just gave Angel a goodbye kiss. Where is mine?" His words were neither too loud nor too quiet.
But the people who were passing by from the reception area, the workers who were there for company renovation were aware that Daisy was the CEO of this branch company. And Ryle’s words were heard by them all.
’’But...’’ Daisy’s brows tugged together.
Ryle waited for her to turn him down and contemplated his next move to steal a kiss from her but then he heard her continue.
’’Where do you want me to kiss you?" her voice was soft, her gaze altering between his lips and his forehead.

Ryle was too stunned to say anything.
S-She just agreed to his unreasonable demand without any qualms?
Happiness came too suddenly and he was too shocked to say a word.
But what happened next, made his soul fly out of his body.
Not getting a response from him, Daisy cupped the side of his face and leaned in towards him.

Ryle watched with stilled breathing as she approached his face.
