Chapter 161: Shameless person

In her hand, she was still holding the pendant that Ryle had sent for her. She did not realize when she had dozed off while looking at it. She placed it back in the box and kept it on the bedside table.

When Daisy opened the door, a cool breath brushed over her as she was pulled into an embrace. She was still stunned and her eyes had widened because it took her time to realize that she was not dreaming.

Ryle entered the room while holding her in his arms and locked the door from behind him with one hand. The moment the door closed, that hand went back to hug her tightly. He placed his face on her head and held the woman tightly in his chest as if he wanted to crush her and melt her into his bones.

Once Daisy came out of her daze, she realized that one side of her face was completely chilly, ’’You are so cold,’’ she whispered.

’’Warm me up then,’’ Ryle kissed the top of her head and hugged her tightly.

Daisy sighed, ’’What are you doing here, Ryle? You left yesterday,’’ And he was still at work when she was on her way back home. That meant he must have traveled all night to come back.

Ryle looked into her eyes when she pushed him back slowly. She was frowning slightly as if quietly reprimanding him.

"Are you worried about me?" he wrapped both his arms softly around her waist to keep her close.

Daisy paused and then glanced at him, ’’Who pays you for being delusional?"

Ryle closed his eyes and placed his head on the crook of her neck, ’’So harsh. Didn’t you just say I am cold?’’

She could feel his face being cold as ice when he placed it on her neck.

Daisy grabbed his hand and led him to the bed wordlessly. As he saw her getting inside the blanket and looking at him, he kicked off his shoes, threw away his suit jacket, and unbuttoned the top two buttons of his shirt before he climbed inside the bed.

Daisy pulled the blanket to cover his body but the man grabbed her head and positioned his arm under it before he yanked her closer into his arms.

She looked at him speechlessly but he acted as if he did nothing unusual, ’’Since you are warm now, tell me what you are doing here?"

’’I missed you, sweetheart.’’

She blinked.

Ryle inched closer to her and placed a light kiss on both her eyes, ’’What is it? Is it that unbelievable that you make it unbearable for me to stay away from you for a matter of few hours?"

Daisy rolled her eyes, ’’You left for some work so I thought you would be gone for a while.’’

And she did not know if it was an illusion or not but she seemed to have caught a hint of sadness in his eyes. However, the expression was gone in an instant as if it was never there.

He did not say anything and she did not push him.

Ryle was lost in his thoughts when he felt a soft hand being placed on his waist. He looked at the woman in his arms who had closed her eyes but her arm was tightly placed on his waist as she squeezed herself closer to him.

’’Sleep,’’ Daisy said, feeling a burning gaze on her face.

Ryle leaned in and kissed the corner of her lips and watched as her face turned red instantly but the woman refused to open her eyes to look at him.

He smiled and closed his eyes, ’’It’s good to have you in my arms. I don’t want it any other way.’’

She did not reply but it did not matter to him because he knew that she heard him anyway.

Both the people had slept entangled in each other’s arms for barely an hour when they were stirred awake by some incoherent ramblings of a certain fluffball.

Ryle was the one to open his eyes first. When he looked up, he saw a bump in the blank. Little Angel was sitting near her mother’s waist with the blanket draped over her head. She rubbed her eyes with one hand and pointed her little fingers at them with a pout on her face.

Daisy’s face turned red. She had not expected the girl who did not change sides before 10 am to get up this early. Daisy immediately moved to get away from Ryle but the man locked her tight in place.

She glared at him but Ryle acted as if he could not see it. Instead, he raised his hand towards Angel, ’’Come here, little princess...’’

Angel pouted some more before she clapped his hand with both her tiny hands and crossed her mother’s hand, ’’Mommy... Raeeel... sweepy...’’

Ryle inched back from Daisy to make space for the girl and she immediately climbed up, imitating her mother’s position and placing her little head on Ryle’s bicep.

A warm smile crossed Ryle’s features and he stroked her head, ’’Good girl, sleep now.’’

Angel dozed off in no time, finding herself a new comfortable position.

As Daisy looked at the scene in front of her, she felt complicated. Warm, comforting yet complicated emotions.

As if Ryle could sense her emotions, he leaned in and stroked Daisy’s hair slowly, to not stir Angel awake, ’’Sleep, princess.’’

Daisy tried to move her head off his hand but he held her in place.

’’It will go sore.’’

’’It’s not that useless. It can take your entire body on it, let alone being treated as your pillow,’’ Ryle whispered.

Daisy blushed and closed her eyes, finding it useless to bicker with this shameless person.
