Chapter 116: Taking her out to play

It was past 7 pm when Ryle came back from work. The men who were guarding the mansion looked at each other, the shock evident in their eyes. Since when did their Boss start following the conventional rules of the world and worked in a 9-5 format. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

Not even 9. They had seen him leaving the place at around noon.

They composed themselves and greeted him when he walked past them.

Other might not know, but Locke who had seen the man growing up into a boy in front of his own eyes could gauge what was happening even if Ryle himself did not notice it. The man had found himself a woman who caught his interest and he seemed to be more or less bewitched.

He did not if it was a good thing or bad.

Despite having opinions about it, this time he was not as rash as when he was back in Shanghai when he let his thoughts and purpose be reflected on his face. Last time he was suspended from his position. It was sheer luck that due to emergency matters, Ryle forgave him and asked him to resume his position. That’s why he did not even protest when he was assigned to guard the mansion.

After all, he knew how much of tsundere Ryle was. The last time, it was just a temporary suspension but this time, he might get fired if he crossed the line so he stayed put.

Moreover, he had another reason of guarding the mansion and not raising his voice against it even though he would have not put such tasks in his eyes in the past.

When Ryle entered the mansion, he was greeted with silence.

The European styled living room was dimly lit and it seemed as if things had gone back to how it was before.

Unconsciously, a frown was etched on his face as he ascended the stairs and approached the Master bedroom. However, the complex emotions in his heart disappeared when the sound of Angel’s giggles reached his ear.

Her laughter were accompanied with Daisy’s helpless voice, ’’You have already wandered through everything. Come to mommy now.’’

Ryle knocked once.

’’Aunty Lu, is there something you need?’’ Daisy thought it was Aunty Lu until she saw Ryle entering the room.

She was surprised. The man had the tendency to work and make people work. Even she had been a victim of his wrath when he duped her into working for him again. She had stayed up for nights to finish the works he had assigned her. It was extreme to the extent that Diana had said the same thing about castrating him back then as well to lighten her mood. In the end, she burned all the files she worked on right in front of his eyes to get on his nerves.

’’Why are you back so early?"

’’There was no work left for me to do.’’

He looked at Angel who was dancing around in the walk-in closet happily while trailing a few dresses in both her hands.

’’It seems like she is rather happy about it,’’ Ryle remarked thoughtfully. The little girl was definitely appreciating his good taste.

Daisy rolled her eyes, ’’That’s what I had texted you about. You did not have to arrange these,’’ It seemed to her like these clothing would last her a lifetime. And for Angel’s age, most of these might not even fit her after a few months.

Unruffled by her analysis, Ryle sat there like a prodigal king who was not concerned about his finances at all, ’’You refused to take the $50 billion back. This is not even 1% of it,’’ he consoled her when she glared at him.

If Daisy fell for his words, she would look down on her brain. Back in Shanghai, they had just stayed for a day and he had filled the entire hotel room with all sorts of things. There was no money exchanged between them at that time as well so he could paste these excuses on somebody else’s head.

As Daisy stood up, Ryle noticed elegant white dress that flowed down her legs, hugging her body in all right places.

Daisy’s attention was on Angel who had been trying different dresses from the past one hour. Naturally, she did not notice the way Ryle’s laidback expressions turned predatory.

It was a V-neck dress that she was wearing but it was not revealing much except her neckline, her collarbones and that left much much more to his imagination. The dream where she dominated over him seemed to have done a slow replay in his head.

There were some subtle marks peppered all over her neck and he knew those were his artworks. The ones he had left on her skin around a week ago. They had mostly faded but the remnants that were left seemed to be stirring something inside him.

He wondered on a scale of 1 to 10, how offended she was going to be if he pressed her to the wall and renewed his artworks on her body while Angel was not looking.

’’Angel, come here right now or I am going to be angry,’’ Daisy’s stern voice brought Ryle out of his reverie.

He cleared his throat, wondering if his filthy thoughts were visible on his face in that moment.

’’Angel.’’

’’You are going to scare her,’’ Ryle clicked his tongue.

Daisy felt helpless. She wanted to get in there and bring her out but the little girl was so clumsy that she might panic and fall or hurt herself.

’’Are you going somewhere?" Ryle asked after observing the mother-daughter duo who had visibly dolled up.

It was effortless on their part though. Ryle believed that if Daisy and Angel just sat there in potato sacks, the renaissance artists would still marvel and paint them unblinkingly.

’’Yes. It has been a long time since I have taken her out,’’ unbeknownst to the person’s thoughts, Daisy answered him, ’’So, I am taking her out to play.’’
