Chapter 113: It was not for the child, but the mother?

When she saw him, her round emerald eyes scanned him for a few seconds as she stood rooted to his place.

Ryle believed that it had been a few days since he last saw her already so the little girl must have more or less forgotten him. Once he descended the stairs, he proceeded to make his way towards her to introduce himself again.

However, the little girl suddenly rushed towards him and hugged his leg. "Raeeeel...’’ she was so tiny that she barely even reached his knee.

The guards knew that their Boss treated Daisy rather specially but they were worried when they saw the little girl hugging their Boss.

In the past few days, they have all come to be fond of the little girl who chased after them, took candies from them, and offered some in return. In their line of work, most of them were chosen candidates with broken family backgrounds, some were orphans, some were abandoned, and given the kind of work they did, they did not even have any thoughts of starting a family. So, they had never experienced such warmth before that they had received from both Angel and Daisy.

While Daisy Chen might seem like a cold woman, but she had made sure to invite them over for meals and take care of their needs in the past few days when it was not even an obligation on her part.

So, when they saw little Angel clinging to Ryle, they were afraid that their Boss would be displeased by it. No matter how he treated her mother, the child after all someone else’s so it was more of a reason for him to not be happy about it.

However, in the next moment, their jaws dropped when Ryle squatted in front of the little, stroked her head, and then carried her in his arms. He walked towards the dining table and sat on the head chair with the little girl on his lap.

Angel blabbered some gibberish and the man responded to all her words patiently, and while he did so, he grabbed a strawberry from the glass bowl and cleanly cut it into tiny pieces like a flower before placing it on a plate for the little girl who started drooling at the sight of it. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

The bodyguards doubted their existence.

Who could tell them what was happening?

They knew how the person in front of them was and there was no way in the world they had ever thought that he would interact with a child like this.

Locke, the head of the guards, had just walked in when he witnessed the scene. The rest of the guards sensed his presence and turned to look at him. One look and they had to suppress the laughter that threatened to bubble out of their throats.

At this point, all the men noticed Daisy who was descending the stairs. And suddenly, the scene of their Boss pampering the little girl started making sense. So, it was not for the child, but the mother.

Pleasing the child to impress the mother.

It made sense if their Boss wanted to leave a good impression of himself in Miss Chen’s heart. They thought to themselves.

’’Master, these past few days, there have been no suspicious people in this vicinity but the neighbors have been pretty intimidated by our presence,’’ Locke stepped forward to report the matter to the man.

Arkell Hills was a VIP resident area and it had a top-notch security system arranged around it. In fact, the owner of the place was rather mysterious but this place was actually one of the most sought-after and well-known estates. However, the rich people living where were naturally wary and delicate. Watching a huge number of men guarding one of the mansions in the place, they had time and time again raised some complaints, as per Locke’s observation.

’’Let them be,’’ Ryle understood the root cause of the issue but he was not very bothered about it.

His place, his rules.

As long as they did not cross him, they could be as curious and whiny as they wanted. He could not really be bothered with it.

’’Ca...lloowu... Callowuu...’’ Little Angel pointed her tiny fingers at Locke.

"Huh?" Ryle was bewildered, ’’What is it, little princess?"

’’She is saying Caillou,’’ Daisy answered as she walked towards the dining table, her fleeting gaze passing by Locke who had reminded Angel of ’Caillou’ before she took a seat on the dining table.

’’Caillou? What fruit is that?" Ryle saw that Angel still had a strawberry on her plate. Could it be she preferred this other thing?

Daisy’s lips twitched, ’’Caillou is a cartoon character,’’ the little girl had seen that children’s series a long time ago but surprisingly she remembered the character.

Ryle was still confused so he followed Angel’s gaze and looked at Locke who had a bald head. The man had shaved all his hair. He nonchalantly glanced back at Daisy and questioned, ’’Was that a bald character?"

’’Precisely,’’ Daisy said as Aunty Lu started serving the food. She attempted to help the woman but the woman turned down her help and said she could do it alone.

’’Callowuu...’’ Angel continued mumbling as if the cartoon character had come to life and was standing right in front of her.

The rest of the guards suppressed their laughter whereas Locke’s face turned red.

Ryle frowned, ’’Don’t say that.’’
