Tianmiao looked up at the girl above her, who was gazing at her with shining eyes, overflowing with fondness and delight.

"Oh, my goodness, look what I’ve found? There’s actually a little treasure here." The girl with fiery red hair exclaimed joyfully, then reached out and scooped Tianmiao up, "Little treasure, would you like to come home with me? You are just too beautiful."

Before Tianmiao could speak, Jesse’s loud voice echoed in their ears: "Who are you? Let go of my sister!"

Jesse then rushed over to Tianmiao and the girl, quickly snatching Tianmiao away and glaring at the girl.

"Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean any harm. It’s just that this little treasure is so beautiful, glowing in a way. I couldn’t resist giving her a hug, I’m truly sorry." The red-haired girl apologized hastily.

Hearing the girl’s sincere apology coupled with her praise for his little treasure, Jesse’s attitude softened.

"Well, you should ask for my permission before you hug her. You scared both me and my sister; I thought someone was trying to abduct my sister." Jesse gently patted Tianmiao’s back, and after expressing his lingering fear, he turned and smiled, "But I can understand your feelings too; my sister is indeed very cute, like a little angel."

"Yes, yes, she really is a little angel. So beautiful, makes one want to take her home." The red-haired girl said gladly after hearing Jesse forgive her.

Jesse’s mouth twitched hearing this, and he stepped back two paces holding Tianmiao, looking at her warily: "Don’t get any ideas about my sister."

"Ah, I won’t, I won’t." The red-haired girl quickly shook her head, "I was indeed too rash earlier. I’m called Fei’er, and you? I’m traveling and passing through here."

"Tianmiao." Before Jesse could answer, Tianmiao smiled and replied, "My brother is called Jesse."

"Oh, my goodness, Little treasure’s voice is so lovely, just like an angel. Are you having a picnic here?" Fei’er asked, looking at the tablecloth not far away.

"Yes, would you like to join us?" Tianmiao stretched out her chubby little hand and opened it to show Fei’er, "But to join, you need to gather chestnuts with me."

"No problem, no problem at all. I’m great at gathering chestnuts." Fei’er said happily.

"Then let’s go gather chestnuts. Jesse, put me down." Tianmiao turned to Jesse and said.

Jesse silently put Tianmiao down and watched as Tianmiao joyfully gathered chestnuts with the girl named Fei’er. He hadn’t spoken a word the entire time; how did these two just get along like that? Without even asking his opinion, how did they just invite a stranger to join their picnic?

Jesse looked at Tianmiao’s smiling face with a touch of sourness, but then he thought, Tianmiao usually doesn’t have playmates, and it’s rare to see her with such a bright smile. Oh well, it’s good to have someone to play with her. I’ll just keep a closer eye on things.

Fei’er wasn’t exaggerating when she said she was great at gathering chestnuts.

A while later, Jesse looked at the pile of chestnuts next to the picnic cloth, which was taller than Tianmiao, and didn’t know what to say.

"Enough, enough. No need to gather anymore." Jesse stopped the two who were happily gathering, "It’s too much; we can share some with the neighbors when we go back."

"Sure. Can we have lunch now?" Tianmiao walked over and added a handful of chestnuts to the pile and asked.
