Chapter 688: New Kingdoms Part 3

"...Aqua, is everything going well? Anything new? Need any help?" Lycoris asks me proactively, trying to lend a hand, her tail wagging is really cute, while I sign some papers inside the castle I built, the general structure around the castle is also already perfect, and everything is going relatively well.

"Everything’s going fine, Lycoris, I got some servants to take care of the castle so the work you and I have to do is going to decrease a lot," I tell her, letting go of the papers to give her my full focus and attention, since Lycoris deserves total focus instead of partial focus.

She asks excitedly while I see that she’s completely covered in dust, despite already being an adult, Lycoris still loves getting dirty playing in the sand, hunting small things or exploring, I think it’s a charm of hers to be able to maintain that predatory innocence from the past.

"First, you should go take a bath, second, do you remember that we participated in the war and after everything that happened you and I captured some prisoners of war?" When I ask that she nods her head up and down affirmatively.

"The prisoners of war we got back then are our servants now, Mama Pandora sold them to me for a good price," Mama Pandora asked for 500 liters of my blood as a growth sample in exchange for the prisoners.

"Ohhh yes! Those... well, if they can help then so be it! Even if they’re prisoners! As long as they don’t cause trouble! Ah wait, I’ll be right back! I’m gonna take a bath!" She says leaving through the door excitedly, she’s been walking around very anxious lately with everything we’re building.

"Before you go, Olivia is coming to live here, her choice obviously, plus I think Mama Pandora doesn’t like her very much so Olivia really seems to want to run away from her," when I say that Lycoris stops walking and looks at me with a smile.

"That’s great! She can have a position here and-"

"No, not yet Lycoris, we’re going to be very selective about who handles each part, Olivia isn’t someone we know is fit for any role, let’s wait and see, after all I don’t want our kingdom to have problems," I tell her with a serious nod.

"...Talking like that you even sound like Mama Pandora, and that’s a good thing I think," she says leaving the room with a brief wave of her hand, I hear her giggling as she skips through the castle, after this place finished being built she went back to acting just like when we were at the academy.

"...Hah..." I feel happy to be compared to Mama Pandora, but also a little disappointed!! She is indeed incredible, but in the end she’s a submissive woman like all of them!!! While I am not like that.

"Well it’s not time to think about that, I have to deal with the matter of the servants... after all they’re prisoners who might try to do dangerous things... I need to enslave them with magic to stop them from trying anything bad," now that the castle has been fully finished, and the surrounding area has started being built, and the kingdom has started being formed, Mama sent a "notice."

First she informs about the "irregular" constructions since she didn’t allow new kingdoms to rise, and talks about how Azazel and Eclipsya are also making theirs, so what Mama did was first charge for the territory.

Because the entire world is hers according to her, and then make agreements on how the "borders" will work since she doesn’t want us getting in the way of her and her kingdom.

"War actually seems like a good option," Mama specified that me and Eclipsya, who are the ones in command of the kingdoms, are forbidden to fight directly, meaning Azazel and Lycoris also can’t fight directly.

We are too strong to fight without causing problems that will affect her and she wants to avoid that so she doesn’t waste time coming to resolve our conflict.

But we can gather troops, and every 5 years we can fight each other in intellectual leadership battles in a neutral zone, that way the population is reduced to a stable average, money and resources circulate and we can prove who’s better than who.

It boils down to us using soldiers and leadership to prove who’s the best, it doesn’t say who’s the strongest, but it will show everyone that between me and Eclipsya who will have the greater leadership capacity.

"Of course Mama wouldn’t let us kill each other freely..." I rub a pen on a blank sheet of paper watching the ink stain the white of the paper, if Eclipsya and Azazel are creating a kingdom.

They must also be receiving the same letter from Mama Pandora, therefore they can’t just try to kill us, Mama Pandora is terrifying, and if any of us breaks the rules that Mama Pandora imposes I can’t even imagine what our punishment will be.

After all she didn’t specify it in the letter, she just said that if we overstep the limit she would come personally to "resolve" it and she put a lot of emphasis on the word "Resolve" that was written.

"If Eclipsya is going to become queen of her own kingdom, I should start making treaties with her to see how a war between us would work..." Mama is brilliant, since demons reproduce too fast there’s always the need to reduce their population if it grows too much.

Since they won’t just stop growing, what will happen is they’ll need to go live in other kingdoms like my new kingdom and Eclipsya’s new kingdom, and so they’ll naturally become soldiers, die and reduce the numbers.

’That’s why Mama Pandora specified every 5 years...’ Lycoris although brilliant is a bit naive for leadership, so obviously this kingdom will be largely commanded by me while I give her a perfect life, I will surpass Eclipsya and show Mama Pandora that I am her most suitable successor.

"I’m going to show Mama Pandora just how amazing I am!! And I bet that in less than 20 years Mama Pandora will say that I’m her successor!!" There are only the 4 of us and Mama Pandora hasn’t chosen any of us as her successor, so obviously I still have very good chances despite having disappointed her before, I won’t repeat that mistake!

’But I must not be like Mama Pandora, I must be even better than her in every way! I must surpass her’ I look at the plans I made stacked in a mountain of crumpled paper balls, I must start by making a more stable plan on how to grow my kingdom!
