Trick or Treat for Just the Two of Us

*Chapter 5.5

Sōma was sprinting down the corridor late after school, which had become completely deserted of students.

“Shoot, I got too caught up in reading…!”

He couldn’t help but utter words of regret while gazing at the sinking sun through the hallway.

He had been rummaging through old recipe books in the library and it was almost time for the end of school hours before he knew it.

He needed to hurry or the school gates would close.

Even if they did close, he could just secretly climb over them, but it was foolish to unnecessarily increase the risk of getting scolded by a teacher. Hurrying home was the best course of action.

He dashed into the classroom bathed in orange light, grabbed the bag that he had left on his desk, and was about to rush to the shoe lockers.

“—Sōma-san.”

“Whoa!”

He thought he was alone, so he was startled by his name being called out of nowhere.

He almost embarrassingly fell on his behind but managed to avoid it by clinging to the back of a chair.

While holding his wildly pounding heart, he turned towards the source of the voice and saw Chika, who was sliding out from behind the curtains like a ghost.

“C-Chika, you were here? Don’t scare me like that.”

“I was waiting for you, Sōma-san.”

She said in a flat tone while ignoring his complaint.

“Waiting for me? Do you need something?”

He asked, but she didn’t answer and quietly closed the distance between them.

Ignoring the bewildered Sōma, she leans over the desk and brings her face closer with an upturned gaze.

“Hey, what…?”

“Shh.”

He almost let his gaze drift to her chest and scolded himself as he hurriedly turned his face away.

“Is something wrong?”

“Y-You shouldn’t let things be seen that shouldn’t be seen. You’re a girl, so you should be more careful about this sort of thing.”

He warned her with his face turning red, but Chika was not perturbed at all.

Instead, she smiled as if amused and asked something outrageous.

“Do you want to see?”

“…What did you say?”

He raised his voice in an embarrassingly high pitch while still facing sideways.

“Sōma-san, I’ll show you as much as you want if you want to see it.”

Chika said it as if it were nothing, and then the sound of clothing rustling reached his ears.

The sound of a blazer being taken off with a rustle.

The sound of a ribbon tie being untied with a whisper.

The faint sound of blouse buttons being undone.

The sound of a zipper being lowered with a zzzt.

Then, the sound of a skirt dropping to the floor with a thud.

Just from the sounds, he could tell what was happening.

Right now, Chika is taking off her uniform in front of him.

“Ch-Chika, what are you suddenly…!?”

While trying hard not to look away from the sun disappearing behind the buildings, he let out a voice close to a scream.

Contrary to Sōma, who was desperately trying to control himself not to look at Chika, her voice was very calm.

“You want to see, don’t you? That’s why I’m making it easier for you to look.”

Then, she reaches out towards his neck.

He shivers the moment she touches him.

It felt as if she was drawing out his body heat, or perhaps his life, or even his soul.

“Sōma-san, please look at me.”

That single phrase was both an absolution and a sweet bewitching spell of enchantment.

The neck that Chika touched moved slowly against Sōma’s will.

Resistance had become futile.

“Ah…”

Upon turning his face and seeing Chika, who had taken off her uniform, he was at a loss for words.

The girl standing before him was not in the underwear he had imagined.

She was wearing a provocative, bewitching lilac leotard and a harness that emphasized her body’s curves to the extreme. On her thighs were bat tattoo stickers, and on her bottom was a tail with a heart-shaped tip.

No matter how he looked at it, she was in a devilish cosplay outfit.

When Sōma realized this, she showed him a devilishly cute and slightly annoying smile.

Then, she said with full delight,

“Trick or treat!”

That’s when he understood.

This was an outrageous prank she had set up.

“The Halloween the other day was so much fun and fulfilling. But the one thing I regretted was not being able to properly do trick or treat with you, Sōma-san. I couldn’t wait until next year. So, I decided to have Halloween again right here.”

“You’ve gone and created a pointless regret…!”

‘To think she went to the trouble of dressing up in a cosplay outfit just for this prank…’

She’s on the same level as a elementary schooler who wears a school swimsuit from the morning because they’re looking forward to swimming class.

“What kind of prank should I do? I’ve been looking forward to this moment for so long.”

The mischievous little devil approached him with a smile.

His eyes were inevitably drawn to her large breasts that seemed to be forcibly squeezed into the indecent leotard.

Even trying not to stare was utterly futile. He found himself looking as if drawn in.

“A prank?”

He asked while gazing at her chest.

“If you don’t give me sweets, I’m allowed to play a prank. That’s the rule for Halloween. Don’t tell me you didn’t know that? So, now I can play as many pranks on Sōma-san as I want.”

The tail that was supposed to be fake seemed to wiggle happily.

Sōma was taken aback by the cosplay outfit that was far more lewd than mere underwear, but the word ‘sweets’ helped him regain his composure.

He was able to look away from her chest.

“Play as many pranks as you want? We’ll see about that.”

He reached into his bag with a sly smile.

“No way…?”

Seeing this, Chika’s smile stiffened.

“That’s exactly right. Well, I suppose it’s only natural for someone who aspires to be a patissier like me, right?”

He opened the lid of the Tupperware he had taken out of his bag.

Inside was a fluffy, egg-colored sponge cake generously topped with chocolate sauce.

“Here, have some sweets. No pranks with this, right?”

Sōma triumphantly took out a glass cake stand and carefully placed the cake on it.

Updat𝓮d from frёewebnoѵēl.com.

“Why do you have sweets with you today!! You weren’t asked to bring samples today!”

“The guys have been nagging me to let them have a taste every once in a while. I just happened to make this and bring it today. You were too busy dealing with the girls and didn’t notice the boys devouring the cake like hyenas during lunch break.”

The counter was perfectly executed.

The one feeling in a bad mood now was Chika.

“Argh! Enough, enough, enough!”

Realizing her plan had completely crumbled, she threw a tantrum and started hurling nearby objects at him.

Namely, her own uniform that she had just taken off.

Chika’s warmth was still lingering in the skirt as it fell over Sōma’s face.

“Stop it, you idiot! You’re doing something outrageous!”

“I don’t care!”

“Ouch! Don’t throw your uniform with the smartphone still in it!”

“I don’t care-I don’t care! I’ve been so excited about legally being able to prank you! Give me back my excitement!”

“That anger is totally unreasonable!”

As he slid the skirt off his face, he caught his breath and locked eyes with Chika, who was panting over her anger.

The sulky girl plopped her half-exposed bottom onto Sōma’s seat and demanded like a spoiled princess.

“Please feed me. That cake is mine now, right?”

“…Understood.”

Sensing that any further upset might provoke another bite, it seemed wise to comply quietly.

“Then, Princess, would you please open your mouth?”

“Ahh.”

With the feeling of being a butler, he respectfully fed her the cake.

“Mmm, this isn’t bad at all. It feels nice having Sōma-san attend to me.”

In return, her mood improved slightly because of it.

“But I will definitely prank you next year!”

“Yeah, well, good luck with that.”

He vowed to always keep candy or chocolate in his pocket for next Halloween as he watched her make a fist with determination.

“By the way, is there any particular cosplay you’d like me to do next year?”

Chika asked a question while fiddling with the tail that sprouted from her backside.

“Ah… well, I don’t really have any particular requests.”

If he were to speak his true feelings, there are countless outfits he’d like her to wear: idol costumes, gothic lolita, flight attendant, sexy nurse, miniskirt police, cheongsam, bunny girl, see-through sailor uniform… the list goes on.

But, he’d either be met with disgust or teased mercilessly if he was to voice that.

There’s no way he’d say it.

“However, there are some costumes I definitely don’t want you to wear.”

“Costumes you don’t want? Like a zombie or something?”

“No, it’s an angel. It just doesn’t suit you, so absolutely don’t do it.”

Sōma said with a firm tone, and Chika protested in surprise.

“Wait a minute! I’m the ‘Angel of Peace,’ you know! An angel costume would be the perfect fit for me!”

However, this protest was something Sōma could never accept.

“What do you mean perfect fit! Don’t joke with me! There’s no way an angel would always gleefully come up with such stupid pranks! If you ever show up in an angel costume, be prepared for me to douse you in ink and turn you pitch black!”

“I dressed up as an angel and everyone praised me when I was a child!”

“That’s because they hadn’t realized your true nature!”

“My true nature!? That makes it sound like I’m a bad girl or something!”

“Wearing such lewd costumes and teasing an innocent, pure-hearted high school boy? You’re definitely bad!”

“Lewd costumes!? That’s terrible! I wore this thinking it would make you happy, Sōma-san!”

“What lewd is lewd!”

Sōma declared loudly, and Chika suddenly looked sad.

“…do you dislike this outfit?”

Being looked up at with those teary, puppy-dog eyes made it incredibly difficult for him.

“…No, well, it would be a lie to say I dislike it…”

He mumbled with a red face, and Chika immediately returned to a bright smile.

She was shamelessly opportunistic.

“See, I knew it! Me wearing a cosplay that makes Sōma-san happy makes me an absolute angel!”

“No, that’s absolutely not true.”

Even though she playfully poked him with the heart at the end of her tail, Sōma denied it with all his might.
