Chapter 70: Chapter 70 : The First Act
"So what should I do? " He muttered under his breath as he reached his favourite spot, the secluded park.
The chiming sound echoed within his head as he stared at the empty air, or more precisely— the red screen before him.
[Host should not intervene with the plot any further.]
He stared at the red screen before him, then his lips slowly tugged upwards.
"System, let’s be specific here, is it intervening with the plot if I made no contact with the name characters and just handled things behind the scenes?"
The red screen trembled slightly, then a new screen appeared.
[Host is to not intervene with the plot any further, whether it may be behind the scenes. All things are pre-destined.]
"Tsk, you’re reallly thorough" Zeres clicked his tongue.
The sunlight seeped through the trees gals casting over his pale features as he went out.
’If I can’t do it then that’s fine, there’s no reason to interven if my assimilation will rise again. I’m barely keeping up with my current assimilation rate.’ He thought, his jaw clenched as he went inside the hallway.
"Hey that’s him?"
"Yeah, he humiliated Javier in that fight yesterday."
"I heard some of the students from class-B on the trial also went to attack him, yet they all lose— including the second prince."
"Seriously, he’s that strong? "
"Not just strong, he’s also hot~"
Zeres’ ears twitched, the murmurs were already far behind him yet he could hear it perfectly.
’You’re all here lazing around while disappearances are already happening.’

"What should we do about this? Should we ask for Zeres and Helize’s help? " Haslien asked quietly as she sat down on a bench.
"Those two won’t help us, Helize just loved lazing around, while Zeres only acts if it benefits him." Feilres answered, his jaw clenching as a certain memory resurfaced.
"Okay" Haslien nodded weakly, her expression ashen.
"It’s okay, after all the Zenith herself told us she’ll help." Vairel chimed in, his gaze drifting towards Saelyz who stood there like a doll.
"But what about you? Why are you here?" Feilree’ head turned, his eyes narrowing at the future beside Haslien.
"What? You should be thankful I’m here, I’ll be the only one doing the work anyway." Aeliz scoffed, her long white hair fluttering behind her as she glanced at Saelyz.
"Well then, we still have lectures to attend to, we’ll meet her again once the lectures’ ended."
Saelyz nodded, then she walked across the stone pavement.
Feilres and Vairel was of Knight class, that’s why they’re attending different lectures.
"Do you have a direction or just a guess what’s going on? " Haslien asked behind her, her dark hair cascaded down her back, emerald eyes looking lost.
"For the moment, there’s none" she replied. "However, an apostle is definitely involved in this scheme."
"So we just need to be careful of our movement from now? " Haslien mumbled to herself.
"Tsk, she’s not even the leader, why are you asking her? " Aeliz rolled her eyes as she snickered.
"Because it’s better than someone who only uses their power against everything." She replied calmly, as if Aeliz’s word meant nothing.
Aeliz’s eyes darken, her fist clenched tight, then she walked past them.
"What happened between you two? " Haslien asked, her gaze drifting between the two them.
"Just an unending rivalry" Saelyz said quietly.
Ever since they were child, they’ve already been considered as rivals.
Both as an Heiress of a Mages Tower, both as a mage, and even both who awakened their affinity early.
Their rivalry was good at that time, until Aeliz learned that Saelyz was actually a dual-affinity gifted.
After that, she began to pull away.
’She’s still the same; the same competitive girl.’ Saelyz thought as she stared at Aeliz’s slender back.
_________
"There are two types of mana" professor Yvette’s voice echoed across the wide lecture hall.
"The one is what you commonly know as the mana."
"This mana is everywhere around us, it’s color is plain white for those who could perceive it."
"And the second one is the Mana of Affinities or Elements." Professor Yvette went on the board, then she listed something on it.

[Mana]
[Mana of Elements]

"Now who would answer my question? " she asked, her eyes licking immediately to Saelyz.
"How about our Zenith here? " she said loudly.
"What is the difference between Mana and Mana of Elements? " Professor Yvette questioned.
"Mana, it is the most common around us, it can be used to cast anything, but the Mana expenditure will be massive, making it inefficient in combat." Saelyz steted, her posture straight as if she’s delivering a truth not just a mere answer.
"While Mana of Elements are rare, using them on your own affinity when casting a spell is more efficient. However, it is hard to take them inside your body as it it’s violent one."
"Taking and storing them within your essence means you have the perfect body constitution to prevent any backlash."
"Thank you" Professor Yvette said, her eyes narrowing slightly at the descriptive and thorough answer of Saelyz.
’As expected of the Zenith’ she thought.

In a dark room where only the faint light of a dying candle can be seen, a figure sat on a chair.
"Is the preparation complete? " the voice came from the man seating on the chair.
"It is already close, we’ll be done within two hours." A voice replied as a man in white uniform entered the room, a cardboard and parchments on his hand.
Crossing the room, he dropped it down the wooden table.
"Do your best to stay hidden for now, some professor have already caught scent of what you’re doing." The man in white coat warned, his voice heavy with meaning.
"Hoh? Are you warning me? " the shadowy figure chuckled lightly, his voice deep.
"You should know that we’re only working g together for our separate goals." The man in white answered, then he twisted the doorknob as he stepped out.
"I want to kill that rat." The man sitting in the chair gritted his teeth.
Just then, the parchment the man left fell on the ground.
A data about a person.
The picture depicted a woman with long dark hair and emerald-green eyes.
