Chapter 130: No More

Amy’s POV 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

It had all been a misunderstanding, a breakdown in communication fuelled by a cold and calculated witch.

Had she not been curious, the whole thing would have gone unresolved without the two main players knowing the full truth. But now thanks to Amy taking a risk and reaching out to Ryan Terrell’s best friend, she knew exactly what had gone down.

After she and Mark had pieced things together, Amy had been tempted to rush over to Vivian side and tell her everything. But in the end she had decided against that. Not because she did not want to end the other woman’s suffering, but because she knew her friend.

Vivian was more likely to believe that Amy had come up with a lie, in an effort to get her out of her slump rather than to believe the extraordinary tale. So Amy had not said anything to her friend.

When opting for silence she had thought that at most, she would be staying quiet for only a few hours at least

That the moment that Ryan Terrell discovered the entire truth, he would come running like a knight in shining armor. Ready to rescue Amy’s friend from her misery.

But that had not happened, it had been two days now, and Amy was seriously starting to worry.

During her meeting with Ryan Terrell’s best friend, the two of them had not exchanged contact details, and Amy was sorely regretting that. She could have constantly been pestering the man with messages and phone calls. Pushing him to tell his friend if he had not done so already.

But now Amy had no idea what to do.

Had Mark said anything or had he stayed silent?

If the man truly was a good friend, then he had already told Ryan. But then again proof of him being a good friend would be him not saying anything to Ryan. Especially since according to the news, Ryan Terrell’s grandfather was in the hospital. The man had a lot on his plate.

But maybe Mark had said something to Ryan in an effort to cheer him up. Perhaps the billionaire knew, and was too preoccupied with looking after his grandfather to take any time for himself and go looking for Vivian.

Not knowing which one it was, was driving Amy to insanity.

If all that she had to deal with was a mopey best friend, and not knowing whether or not the true story of what had led to their parting had reached Ryan Terrell. Amy would have been able to deal with it without feeling as though she were on the verge of a break down most days.

But things were so bad with Vivian that Amy was worried that by the end she would have pulled out her own hair from all of the stress.

Vivian was falling apart and it was getting harder and harder for Amy to just stand aside and watch. When she had returned to her friend’s apartment after leaving when Vivian had told her that she was talking with Bryce again. She had been greeted by the other woman hugging her tight, and crying for so long that her tears had ended up soaking Amy’s shirt.

’Thank you for not abandoning me,’The other woman had sobbed and that had broken Amy’s heart.

They were best friends, they had promised each other that they would be in one another’s lives through thick and thin, always there to offer support.

But Vivian was now feeling so low that she actually thought that Amy would leave her, even after Amy had sent a message to let her know that she would be back.

It was awful, but that was not even the worst of it.

Now that Vivian was once again spending time with that parasite Bryce. Her friend was rapidly deteriorating, physically Vivian had begun putting on unhealthy weight again.

She was constantly stress eating, convincing herself that she was hungry when it was very clear to Amy that the other woman was just looking for comfort.

Not only was her distress showing physically. Emotionally, Vivian was also a mess if there was one thing that Bryce thrived on.

It was eating away at Vivian’s confidence in herself.

Amy always made sure to not ask when Vivian returned from outings with Bryce. But each time that her friend came back, she seemed dimmer. The spark in her eyes was slowly diminishing and there was no doubt in Amy’s mind that the cause of it was Bryce.

The man had never had a kind word to say about Vivian even in Amy’s presence. So she could only imagine what foul things he felt comfortable saying to her when it was just the two of them.

Bryce was hollowing Vivian out. Amy knew it and her friend knew it. But Vivian seemed to think that it was something that she deserved.

In the past she had clung to the man because she’d wanted to believe that there was good in Bryce that he could change. But now Vivian had admitted to Amy that that was no longer the case.

Vivian kept exposing herself to that horrible man not because she believed that there was any good in him. She actively sought the man out because she knew that he was going to hurt her.

It was horrible to watch.

The thing with Ryan had hurt Vivian so bad that she was actively seeking pain that she knew she could endure. That was messed up on so many levels Amy did not even know where to begin. But one thing that she was sure of, was that her friend needed to be stopped from destroying herself.

As the hours ticked by and the rescue that Amy had been hoping for did not show up. She realized that once again she would have to take matters into her own hands.

If she did not tell Vivian what she knew, she would not be able to forgive herself if Vivian kept going back to Bryce and the man did irreversible damage to her.

She had to say something.

And so bright and early on a Saturday morning, instead of just relaxing at home, Amy was letting herself into Vivian’s apartment.

She found Vivian in the living room still in her pajamas and staring blankly at the TV screen.

"What are you doing?" She asked.

Slowly turning her head to face Amy, Vivian shrugged. "I have a meet-up with Bryce later today, so I’m psyching myself up for it," That had to be one of the most depressing things that Amy had ever heard. And it helped her cling to her resolve to say something.

"Vivian, I want you to promise to hear me out," She said as she sat down next to her friend, her body angled towards Vivian’s.

"Hear you out about what?" Vivian asked, a spark of curiosity igniting in her mostly uninterested gaze. Feeling hopeful, Amy took a breath before speaking.

"I need to tell you something about your breakup with Ryan Terrell,"
