Chapter 113: Can’t Forget

Ryan’s POV

Ryan was going to die.

There was no doubt about it and he already knew what was going to end him.

The drums playing loudly in his head were clearly going to be his cause of death. If they did not do the job. Then all of the other aches and pains in his body would form a union and take him down.

How in the world could every single part of him, even his hair ache?

Just a few short months ago the party lifestyle had been something that Ryan enjoyed. He had been able to party for hours on end and still be as fresh as can be the following day.

So why in the world did he feel as though he had been run over by a truck? Groaning in pain Ryan tried to get back to sleep but found that he could not. His bladder was requesting immediate attention.

With an agonized moan he forced himself to get up and make his way to the bathroom. His business handled, Ryan washed his hands, swallowed down a pain killer without any water and returned to bed. Hoping to get a bit more shut eye and wake up not in as much pain a few hours later.

But that was not in the cards for him.

It felt like he had barely closed his eyes when there was a loud banging from the door.

Who on earth could it be? Why did they not use the doorbell like normal people? On second thought Ryan felt that had they used the door bell his ears would have started bleeding. But the fact that they were knocking did not make him like his visitor any more. They were still bugging him when all that he wanted to do was sleep.

Hating the person on the other side of the door. Ryan’s feelings of resentment only amplified when he finally made his way to the living room and saw who it was.

"Why did you knock when you already have a key?" He asked Mark, glaring daggers at the other man.

"I forgot the last digit of your code and figured I’d just knock, sorry,"

Not only was the excuse an obvious lie. The look on Mark’s face said he was not sorry at all. But the pain killer had barely kicked in, and Ryan did not want to make his aches and pains flare up so instead he just sat down in the seat opposite his friend.

"What do you want, Mark?" Ryan asked.

The other man simply shrugged, but he made no secret of the fact that he was looking around the penthouse.

"It would be really helpful if you were to tell me what you were looking for so that I could help you,"

Fixing him with a look, the words that came out of Mark’s mouth were not what Ryan was expecting at all. "Did you bring anyone home with you last night, maybe two people?" 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

Raising a brow, Ryan shook his head of course not.

"I just went out, had a good time and came home. You might not want to believe it, but I am a grown man perfectly capable of doing that," Mark gave him a long look. Then tension that he had not noticed on his friend fell away.

"Good," He simply said, and Ryan could only stare in confusion...what was up with him?

"What do you mean good? Was there a ’bad’?" Reaching into his pocket, Mark pulled out his phone and showed Ryan a picture.

"This is all over the internet, everyone is saying you hooked up with these girls,"

***

Staring at the picture, Ryan was instantly able to recognize the ladies, it was the twins.

"Oh these two, we had a great time dancing in the club and in the limo we got to talking and I found out that they are actually very skilled. I gave them one of my business contacts, I’m pretty sure I’ve just gained two new employees,"

Mark looked absolutely stunned, but also very relieved. After clearing his throat more than once, his friend finally spoke again. "So you mean to tell me you had these two gorgeous women at the back of the limo and nothing happened?" Ryan hummed in agreement.

"What can I say? I am just not into the one night stand lifestyle anymore,"

Mark gave him a look that instantly had Ryan on edge. He just knew that whatever his friend was about to say he would not like it.

"Is it that you are done with the one night stand lifestyle

Or could it possibly be that you are not yet over Vivian Rose,"

Standing far quicker than was advisable given the fact that he was still hungover, and he could not yet feel the effects of the painkiller, Ryan glared at his friend.

"I do not wish to talk about that woman," He hissed, already walking away.

"Where are you going?" Mark called.

Not turning back, he answered. "I am going back to bed. If you care about my well being at all, you will not wake me up for the next two days,"

"You cannot keep running away from this Ryan. It is hurting you more than it is helping," Ha! As if! Ryan had never run from anything in his life and he was not about to start. Besides, there was nothing to think deeply on when it came to what had happened between him and Vivian. She had turned him down when he’d asked her to be his girlfriend... simple.

Not saying anything in response to his friend’s words, Ryan decided that the conversation was well and truly over. He went into his bedroom and left Mark to his own devices.

Despite his intentions though, sleep did not come easy. Every time he was about to do so, he found himself thinking of Vivian Rose.

Why was getting over her so difficult?

Wherever she was, Vivian probably did not even remember his name anymore.

It was time for him to do the same.

Despite his best efforts to forget her though, when he finally did manage to sleep, Ryan dreamt of Vivian Rose and not a single one of those dreams was a nightmare.
