"Wanwan!" Shen Yi’s voice, filled with panic, came from the phone.

Ye Wanwan had just slammed against the back of her seat, her nose taking the brunt of it. She covered her aching nose, on the verge of tears.

Yet, hearing Shen Yi’s voice made her instinctively reach for the phone that had fallen under the seat.

"Madam, are you alright?" Uncle Zhang hurriedly turned back to check on Ye Wanwan.

Ye Wanwan quickly shook her head, indicating she was fine.

Uncle Zhang, seeing that Ye Wanwan had only hit the seat, said, "Madam, I’ll get out and take a look."

"What happened just now? Did we hit someone?" Ye Wanwan was unaware of the specifics, but couldn’t help feeling worried given the sudden jolt.

"Don’t worry, Madam, we didn’t hit anyone, I will go out and check," Uncle Zhang said as he unbuckled his seatbelt and got out to inspect the situation.

Ye Wanwan could still hear Shen Yi’s urgent and panicked calls coming from the phone, and she bent down again, trying to pick up the phone from under the car seat.

But the phone had landed in a tricky spot, and Ye Wanwan almost had to crawl under the seat to retrieve it.

"Wanwan, what happened? Did something happen?"

"Wanwan, can you hear me?"

"Shen Yi, I’m here." Ye Wanwan had barely steadied the phone before she hurriedly responded.

Ye Wanwan sat back properly and held the phone so that Shen Yi in the screen could see her.

"I’m fine, don’t worry," Ye Wanwan said through the pain to Shen Yi.

"What happened just now? Are you hurt?" In the video, Shen Yi asked with furrowed brows and a serious expression.

The unexpected jolt had sent Shen Yi’s heart racing; he had thought, for a moment, that an accident had occurred!

Fortunate not to hear any other violent sounds, he didn’t think it was a serious mishap, which allowed him to try to calm down.

Looking forward to see what was happening while speaking to Shen Yi, Ye Wanwan said, "I’m not injured."

"It seemed like someone suddenly ran out in front, and Uncle Zhang braked hard; I wasn’t prepared and lurched forward."

Seeing the person who appeared suddenly, Ye Wanwan frowned involuntarily, "I’ll go down and check the situation, I’ll talk to you later."

After finishing, Ye Wanwan reached for the car door, while on the other end of the video, Shen Yi’s brows were deeply furrowed, "Wanwan, don’t go down..."

Before he could finish speaking, Ye Wanwan had already ended the call and stepped out of the car.

"Uncle Zhang." Ye Wanwan stood by the car and called out.

"Madam," Uncle Zhang turned back, prepared to ask her to wait in the car, but the man who had been standing opposite him suddenly shouted in the direction of Ye Wanwan, "Ye Wanwan!"

"Ye Mingrui, what are you doing here?" Ye Wanwan asked with a frown.

Ye Mingrui, her cousin, the son of her great uncle.

She had thought she was mistaken at first, but it indeed turned out to be Ye Mingrui. What in the world was he doing here in the middle of the night?
