Chapter 191: Chapter 191: The Death of Sai Yin

With just a lift of an eye, the chaotic snowfall and the clattering footsteps of the Beastmen came to an abrupt halt.

The passage suddenly closed, the dim light vanished completely, plunging the entire Earth Core into pitch darkness.

Even Wen Shu, who possessed night vision, groped against the wall, staggering toward the place where the Divine Tree stood, before she could make out the steps beneath her feet.

She quickened her pace; Sai Yin’s threats, like a devil’s whisper, echoed faintly from the darkness, "If you don’t want to suffer, awaken the Divine Tree now."

Bai Qiao did not respond, but she evidently refused. A sickening crack of bone breaking resounded, followed by a piercing scream of agony from a female.

Wen Shu’s brows knitted tightly, her figure almost becoming a shadow as she dashed down the long stairs, only to see Sai Yin yanking up the sweat-drenched Bai Qiao.

He pressed her bent arm, thrusting the Divine Tree Leaves into the center of the Earth Core, atop the half-human-height black sapling that curled into a ball.

At the moment of contact, the pale golden radiance of the Divine Tree Leaves burst forth, enveloping the entire Divine Tree.

The light was so dazzling that Wen Shu, attempting to attack, felt a stinging pain in her eyes, making it difficult to see the path ahead.

Nurtured by the golden radiance, the Divine Tree in a blink expanded like a sponge soaked in water, stretching from its diminutive sapling form to a height sufficient to break through the ground!

Contrary to the sacred giant tree on the surface, the true Divine Tree appeared simple; its trunk so massive that dozens could not encircle it, its crown lively and verdant.

The only testament to it being the Divine Tree was the swirling rings of golden radiance as the trunk swayed.

Underneath the tree, Sai Yin raised his lips in a determined smile, again yanking the nearly unconscious Bai Qiao to awaken the Divine Tree Space.

Bai Qiao’s face was deathly pale, her breath labored as he lifted her by the collar.

But she knew once Sai Yin succeeded, the whole continent would be doomed, so she clutched Sai Yin’s arm fiercely, struggling with all her might.

Sai Yin smirked coldly, his palm spread open, strangling her neck from a distance.

Underneath the golden glowing Divine Tree, Bai Qiao was hoisted high, and as a drop of blood trickled down, an aurora swirled at the base of the tree, slowly forming a shimmering vortex.

Sai Yin’s crimson eyes arched in certain triumph as he strode towards the light vortex. Just as he neared, a sudden flash of cold light aimed straight at his spine!

His thick brow subtly arched, and in a brief backward glance, he lifted his fingertip slightly, suspending Wen Shu, who attacked from behind, in mid-air.

She attempted to break free, but the invisible force held her as tightly as an airtight iron barrel, trapping her hands and feet.

Facing Sai Yin, whose eyes were almost entirely filled with red light, Wen Shu realized not much of his original self remained... She had to find a way to expel the thing within him!

While she pondered, Sai Yin leisurely approached, pinching her chin between his fingers, looking down at her, "Xiao Wen, I don’t want to hurt you, wait here for me..."

The red gleam in his eyes dimmed slightly, revealing a rare gentleness, "Once it’s all over, I’ll take you back."

Upon hearing this, Wen Shu’s eyes turned cold, sensing something off.

In the Illusion Realm, the Pseudo-god had fully controlled that Mermaid, but now, Sai Yin seemed to still possess some thought of his own...

"Sai Yin, wake up, don’t let him control you!"

Wen Shu stared straight into Sai Yin’s eyes, but he remained unmoved, instead letting out a low, ambiguous laugh, "Control? Don’t do anything unnecessary, just wait obediently."

Having said that, he turned his head and walked towards the Divine Tree.

Seeing him about to leave, Wen Shu quickly recalled Ye Lin’s experiences in the Earth Core, a realization hitting her mind, she subtly raised her palm.

In the dim Earth Core, a beam of light imbued with Purification Power pierced through the male’s chest.

Sai Yin’s body stiffened for a moment, wisps of crimson light leaked slowly from his unharmed chest, spreading outward.

The restraints on her body loosened, Wen Shu pressed the advantage, increasing the output of her superpower. Unexpectedly, Sai Yin suddenly turned around.

Faced with his formidable superpower, Wen Shu had no room to evade, her throat gripped tightly by enormous force, her feet slowly leaving the ground!

"You, want to kill me?"

Sai Yin squinted menacingly, his violet eyes fully flooded with crimson, showing no trace of their original hue.

Wen Shu couldn’t catch her breath, her neck emitting a faint ’crack,’ her complexion turned from deathly pale to a dark purple, veins pounding at her temples.

Yet she swiftly healed herself, with no intention of backing down. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

Feeling her Spiritual Body separating from her physical body, dark purple patterns surfaced around the Pseudo-god’s eyes, his gaze filled with eerie killing intent.

"Courting death."

In his current state, his Spiritual Body was too weak, necessitating nourishing within this body, or it would soon dissipate.

If not for occasionally being influenced by the thoughts of this body, these people would have perished at his hands long ago, not lingering until now?

Especially this female, who could always awaken Sai Yin’s consciousness. Since the body was under his control at this moment...

His hand veins protruded, tightening viciously, intending to kill the ignorant female before him when a sudden sharp pain surged through his mind!

Wen Shu’s neck was abruptly released, her suspended body plummeting to the ground.

She hadn’t yet figured out what happened, only feeling a cold wind slicing past her neck, stabbing directly ahead.

The sound of flesh being pierced rang out abruptly under the tranquil Divine Tree.

Struggling to rise, Wen Shu saw the figure beneath the tree, her breath halted for a few seconds.

Amidst the hazy golden glow of the Divine Tree, Sai Yin’s tall figure knelt straight to the ground.

His heart had been pierced by a branch, scarlet blood dripped from the white fur of his robe, seeping into the black soil.

"Xiao Wen..."

His handsome face contorted with veins, desperately suppressing something, seeing her looking over, his tight brows slowly relaxed, murmuring softly, "Sorry, I couldn’t protect you..."

Wen Shu clenched her palm, her amber eyes seeming lost.

As Sai Yin gazed at her, feeling a deep sense of reluctance, this was the sin planted by the Mermaid Clan, it should be him to end it, but...

His throat felt hot, a surge of metallic sweetness rose up, unable to hold on further, he toppled backward under the Divine Tree.

The pain in his chest slowly ebbed, the world fell into silence in that instant.

In his vision, only circles of golden radiance remained, before losing consciousness entirely, past memories flickered in his mind, pausing on the day when the female’s smiling eyes faded under the moonlit sky...

As his breath extinguished, a nearly dissipated red mist fled hurriedly from his body, trying to escape in every direction.

Yet before it could leave Sai Yin’s chest, it was ensnared by a surge of power, letting out a shrill shriek, twisting and struggling, vanishing in the blinding white glow.

Healing the unconscious Bai Jieqi, Wen Shu retrieved the Divine Tree Leaves, her gaze passing over the lifeless body, her long lashes falling to mask the depth in her eyes, she turned and sprinted up the steep stairs.

She ran swiftly, as if trying to escape something, yet also as if worried about something.

Finally, reaching the end of the stairs, she let out a slow breath.

But when the passage reopened, only the vast expanse of snow lay before her eyes.
