Chapter 185: Chapter 185: Going Home
As Wen Shu quickly thought of countermeasures, her brow furrowed slightly, meeting Noel’s gaze filled with hidden murderous intent, she provoked fearlessly.
"Kill me? What arrogance, with the Beast God’s protection for females, do you think I’m afraid of you?"
Her eyes scrutinized Noel from top to bottom, flashing contempt, "I warn you again, return Nan’s memory to him, or else..."
Wen Shu glanced at the gradually awakening Lanna, gripped the handle and awkwardly slammed it, let her fall to the ground, "You and her, just wait to be captured by the Empire’s guards!"
Her confident shout made Noel’s face change slightly, momentarily bluffed.
What does it mean, did she notify the guards in advance?
He scowled, remembering how arrogant the people he sent were, cursing inwardly, what a bunch of good-for-nothing fools!
Need to deal with them quickly!
Noel narrowed his eyes dangerously, those brown eyes locked onto Wen Shu’s eyes, suddenly brightened with a dense gleam.
Seeing him suddenly activate his superpower, Nan’s brow furrowed, and he flew to block in front of Wen Shu, trying to intervene.
But in just an instant, when he turned around, Wen Shu behind him was standing there dazedly, a look of confusion and unsure of her surroundings!
"Ashu?"
Nan was pale, his large hand shook her shoulder gently, his eyes burning with anxiety, "Don’t scare me..."
Before he could confirm anything, Noel’s sharp claws viciously attacked from behind!
The cold sharp wind rushed to his neck side, Nan hugged Wen Shu hurriedly dodging, yet his forearm was cruelly severed by the force.
Blood spurted instantaneously, the female in his arms fell during the commotion, and Noel took advantage of the moment to seize her.
Nan’s forehead pulsed with blue veins, his face spattered with blood, yet seemingly not feeling any pain, dragging his severed limb as he chased out of the passage.
Noel’s pace was extremely fast, almost disappearing into the passage instantly, he clamped Wen Shu under his arm, heading straight for the Purple Crystal Stone.
Encountering those two fools who had just broken free from control, he roared angrily, "Stop Nan!"
His mind calculated well, Nan’s memory was indeed loosened, only by lifting the contract and killing this female.
His nephew could be completely used by them.
And dealing with a female is nothing, as long as they act quickly, they could retreat entirely unscathed!
But, as facts proved, he thought too beautifully.
Just as he grabbed Wen Shu, pressing her onto the Purple Crystal Stone, raising his paw to cut off her fingers, his chest suddenly ached.
Noel’s eyes widened, looking at his chest, only to see a sharp bone knife brutally piercing through his heart.
Bright red blood soaked his white robe, he stiffly raised his head, the female’s eyes cold and no longer the slightest bit dazed!
"You..."
Noel grasped her wrist tightly, trying to shake her off, yet the female’s strength was extraordinarily unreasonable.
The dagger was swiftly withdrawn, he collapsed powerlessly into the pool of blood, until he lost his breath, glaring at the standing Wen Shu, unable to believe he would die like this.
The male Beastmen trying to stop Nan, fled carrying Lanna, upon seeing the scene, all shocked thinking they were hallucinating.
"Uncle!"
A fierce battle seems inevitable.
Wen Shu glanced coldly at them, her figure flickered, racing with the bone knife, yet halfway, she was scooped into a sturdy embrace.
Familiar body warmth enveloped her, Nan tightened his arms, his voice gentle, "Ashu, you are pregnant, let me handle this."
Wen Shu’s figure paused, her gaze fell on the blood stains slipping like water from the ground, nervously healing him, then met a pair of eyes glowing amber yellow.
His expression was cold, gaze locked on the three Beastmen, their faces full of disbelief, releasing Wen Shu, and walking slowly towards them, "You all..."
Breaking away from the battle, Wen Shu’s lower abdomen indeed felt somewhat uncomfortable, she retreated to the soft chair, sitting down heavily.
After healing herself, she looked up again, those two male Beastmen already trembling and collapsed.
Lanna huddled into the corner, her gentle face filled with dread, "Nan, what are you doing? They are your brothers!"
"Them?" Nan chuckled softly, mocking, "They are Uncle’s children, how could they be my brothers? At the time... you also deceived father like this?"
Upon hearing the latter half, Lanna understood, Nan indeed remembered!
Just as he was in a daze, Lanna’s sharp gaze fixed on Nan, releasing the mental suppression of a high-level female.
Facing her sudden attack directly, Nan staggered a few steps while supporting his forehead, then ruthlessly knocked Lanna out and sat on the ground with a self-mocking laugh.
Watching his trembling back, sitting alone in the vast arena, Wen Shu’s heart tightened, "Nan..."
A gentle call, anchoring Nan’s figure.
His chest heaved violently, as if a drowning man finding a piece of driftwood, he dashed towards Wen Shu with a panicked expression, hugging her tightly.
"Ashu..."
The trembling whispers sounded by Wen Shu’s ear.
She could feel the body holding her trembling slightly, along with the heavy and rapid heartbeat, as if it would stop the next second from the speed.
She wrapped her arms around Nan’s waist, gently patting with a soft motion, whispering, "I’m here. Once we handle this, we’ll go home..."
The moment the words "go home" were spoken, those strong arms stiffened for a moment, then tightened slowly with restrained force.
"Mm... go home."
Nan chuckled lightly, his voice brimming with joy and emotion, as Wen Shu stroked his back, feeling a trace of warmth seeping into her shoulders.
She slightly moved her brows, intending to offer some comfort, but at this moment, a few figures carrying wind and snow rushed into the Holy Temple!
"Ashu!"
Wu Xuan, upon seeing the embracing pair, rushed forward to confirm Wen Shu was unharmed, allowing his heart, hanging in his throat, to settle back into his belly.
"Ashu, are you unhurt?"
Luo Fei and Mious followed closely behind.
Seeing the two embracing, Luo Fei directly took Wen Shu back into his arms, inspecting her left and right, scolding, "Do you want to worry us to death? Next time, you are not allowed to act alone!"
Held by him, Wen Shu looked up and saw Mious’s face clearly.
His eyes were red with urgency, yet remembering something, he averted his gaze awkwardly, his brows furrowing more tightly.
Wen Shu couldn’t fathom his thoughts, so she simply ignored and didn’t ask, looking at Nan beside her, "How will you handle them?"
Nan seemed to have a plan already, determination flashing in his eyes, "Send them to Her Majesty the Queen’s residence."
He wasn’t unprepared; since he began doubting his memories, he had started gathering evidence, and now was the perfect time.
Even if he couldn’t shake the entire family, it would be enough to deal them a heavy blow.
With the help of Wu Xuan and Mious, Nan threw what he called his relatives into Queen Arundia’s chamber at night, leaving behind a Memory Stone, and then withdrew safely.
When they returned to the castle, Wen Shu had already fallen asleep in Luo Fei’s arms.
She had been busy all day, sleeping deeply, with faint dark circles under her eyes from fatigue.
After washing off the chill, Wu Xuan pulled her into his embrace, while Mious and Nan missed the chance to approach her, simply sitting on the edge of the bed.
Outside, the wind and snow paused briefly. In the weak light, Mious carefully traced Wen Shu’s clean and gentle face.
He clenched his palm slightly, forming a fist, and asked in a low voice, "Did you have a smooth journey from the dense forest to the Yisha Empire?"
Hearing what he asked, Wu Xuan was stunned, noticing his regretful expression, and found it amusing, "What do you think?"
Detecting the sarcasm in his tone, Mious’s joints turned white as he lowered his head knowingly.
Beside them, Nan was still holding Wen Shu’s hand.
Awkwardly sitting on the edge of the bed, he stared at Wen Shu’s face without blinking, his eyes full of profound tenderness.
He sat like this for an entire night.
Until Wen Shu woke up, he leaned in eagerly, "Ashu, good morning."
A warmth fell on her cheek, and Wen Shu blinked. Just as she saw Nan’s face clearly, she saw him rushing out of the room.
The other males in the room had disappeared at some point as well.
Bemused, Wen Shu washed up and went downstairs, only to find the dining table set with four different kinds of food.
"..."
After finishing breakfast, Wen Shu finally understood what it meant to bear a sweet burden.
She rubbed her belly, planning to head to the backyard to digest, and as she stepped into the hall, she stumbled upon Bai Qiao measuring Queen Niss’s waist.
Wen Shu turned to leave, but Queen Niss, with sharp eyes, spotted her, "Wen Shu, a female?"
