Chapter 11: Revenge

The bustling sounds of people moving about filled the environment, making it loud and noisy as everyone hurried to complete the tasks assigned to them.

Children ran about, stumbling on the workers which made the chaos even worse.

"Clara! Control your friends!!" Vivian yelled as she cooled herself down with the electrical fan. "Martha, arrange the flowers more properly, and also, have you called the priest? He’s not here yet."

"You need to calm down." Logan said as he pulled her by the hand when he saw she was about to yell at another worker. "What are you so worried about?"

Vivian subconsciously rubbed her chest, panting. She tried to catch her breath since she’d been running about since the morning of her wedding.

"I don’t know," she replied, glancing around. "I just have a feeling that something wrong is going to happen."

Logan looked at her with a frown before he shook his head as he pulled her closer.

"You’re just being paranoid for no reason at all." He wrapped his arms around her and caressed her body. "You know you’re pregnant, so you should rest. In fact, you’re not even supposed to be here, and you know that. You’re supposed to still be getting ready to walk down the aisle."

Vivian was aware of all of that. According to an old saying that her mother kept singing in her ears when she’d decided to leave her makeup room earlier than usual, the bride and groom weren’t supposed to see each other before the wedding, else a bad omen would befall their marriage and they would only have problems from then on.

However, Vivian couldn’t throw away this feeling that bugged her as if something terrible was going to happen. Or worse, an uninvited guest would appear.

Her heart skipped a beat in fear at the thought of Arianna attending her wedding.

After Logan had shot her dead back in the bush, he’d left her body for the wolves to eat for dinner.

It’s already been two months since that happened and if Arianna were alive, she would have shown herself a long time ago. Or perhaps, she was probably hiding.

Vivian’s head spiraled, beads of sweat appeared on her skin while everything blurred, and before she could realize it, she was already falling but Logan caught her just in time.

"You need to rest. You’re overworking yourself too much for no reason."

Vivian sighed. Perhaps she was thinking too much about everything.

’Arianna is already dead. She can’t gatecrash my wedding,’ she thought.

The priest arrived a few minutes later, and in less than an hour, the wedding commenced.

Vivian’s makeup was retouched before she had to walk down the aisle from the beginning of the church.

While walking, she could feel a glare that pierced her back as if someone was stabbing her with a dagger.

It took all her self-control not to swivel her head in that direction.

She was getting married to Logan, the love of her life, and was pregnant with their second baby, and that was all that should matter at that moment.

Meanwhile, Logan saw a woman who looked familiar sitting in one of the rows of seats. However, the guest sitting in front of her made it difficult for him to tell the real identity of that woman.

Either way, it wasn’t important since he was getting married to the love of his life, Vivian, who was pregnant with their second child.

They both shared the vows like every other normal couple and the priest blessed the marriage.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife." He declared in front of the guests. "You may now kiss the bride."

Logan took off Vivian’s veil and leaned in to kiss her but someone in the church yelled, "Stop!!"

Head spun to look at who’d just dared to stop the ongoing wedding, and when they recognized the woman, they all gasped in unison.

Arianna stood up from her seat, taking off her sunglasses with a smirk on her lips.

"Do you two really think that I was going to let you get happily married after you destroyed mine and took everything away from me?" Arianna demanded as she casually walked towards the altar, intentionally taking her precious time.

"Mummy!" Clara gasped when she saw Arianna.

Arianna stopped in her tracks and turned to look at the girl with a cold and empty look that made the little girl shrink back in her seat in fear.

"I am not your mother," Arianna said, her tone devoid of emotion.

She ignored Clara’s shocked expression and returned her attention to both Logan and Vivian who looked like they’d both seen a ghost.

"Surprised to see me?" Neither of the two responded. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

"What are you doing here?" Logan questioned, being the first person to recover from the shock.

Arianna took a moment before she responded. "I’m here to take your lives just like you took mine." She reached into her bag and retrieved a gun. "And this time, I’ll be teaching you how to do the job properly."

The guests immediately went into a frenzy when they sighted the gun in Arianna’s hand.

The Griffin and the Henderson family members immediately took the chase, running for their lives without waiting to see if Logan would manage to talk some sense into Arianna.

"Arianna, put the gun down. Let’s talk about this," Logan bargained while trying to shield Vivian with his body. "You don’t have to do this."

Arianna tilted her head to the side. "And why not? You didn’t hesitate when you shot me so why would I listen to you?" She questioned.

"You bitch!" Vivian screamed, rage mixed with fear palpable on her face as she moved away from Logan’s shield. "We should have had you butchered instead."

Arianna hummed in agreement. "You should have, but unfortunately, you didn’t think of that."

Then she shot at Vivian. She stilled for a moment, as if trying to register what had just happened before she fell to the floor.

"Vivian!!" Logan screamed as he cradled his wife’s body. "Look at what you did?"

Arianna scoffed. "So it’s only wrong when I do it?"

Logan’s nose flared in rage. He glanced at the gun and then back at Arianna.

Unfortunately for him, she’d already read his mind.

Right when he lunged at her, she shot him in the head.

Unlike Vivian who wore a shocked expression right before dying, Logan slumped to the ground with a thud as blood dripped from the hole in his head.

Arianna stared at their bodies, satisfaction written on her face.
