Chapter 1382: Chapter 741: Mo Han and Wanwan Arc - Taken Back to the Villa Again

The car started directly, and Ning Wan’s heart almost jumped to her throat. The fear and worry that hadn’t been there from the beginning slowly began to emerge.

Before driving, that feeling wasn’t present, but once the car started, Ning Wan immediately realized two things.

First, Xi Mohan wasn’t drunk earlier; he was pretending, or he was drunk but has since sobered up.

Second, Xi Mohan probably has an agenda this time.

Though she didn’t know what Xi Mohan’s intentions were, her mind was already filling with various possibilities.

Ning Wan sat in the passenger seat, clutching the seatbelt tightly, and looked at Xi Mohan who was driving, almost through gritted teeth, "Where exactly are you taking me?"

Xi Mohan turned his head slightly to glance at her, without speaking, continuing to drive intently.

Ning Wan saw that he completely ignored her, and immediately felt a fit of anger bubbling inside, wanting to say something but unable to find the words to speak.

...

Half an hour later, Ning Wan looked at the familiar yet strange surroundings before her, and suddenly widened her eyes, turning to look at the man beside her, "Xi Mohan, what are you bringing me here for?"

The man remained silent, and after a while drove the car to the villa gate. Just as Ning Wan was still in doubt, Xi Mohan had already gotten out of the car, quickly walking to the passenger seat, opened the door, and lifted her out.

The sudden action, without any warning, almost made Ning Wan scream in fright, her hands instinctively wrapped around the man’s neck.

But while she was still scared, she heard the man’s slightly indifferent voice by her ear, "As you’ve aged, why hasn’t your weight increased? Haven’t you been eating well?"

Even though Xi Mohan’s voice was as indifferent as ever, Ning Wan seemed to feel as if the man was concerned about her.

This thought had just emerged in her mind, but she quickly shook it off.

Taking a deep breath, Ning Wan almost gritted her teeth as she asked, "What exactly are you bringing me here for? Put me down, I want to go back."

At the moment she moved out of this villa, she thought she might never come back for the rest of her life.

Yet, she hadn’t expected that she would return, especially... with Xi Mohan bringing her back.

The man’s expression remained unchanged, giving her a slight glance, his lips parted as he spoke unhurriedly, "Don’t you want to know who killed your parents back then?"

Ning Wan instantly widened her eyes, tightening her grip around the man’s neck, even her breathing became a bit rapid. Only then did she react, speaking hurriedly, "Xi Mohan, do you know who it is?"

The death of her parents had always cast a psychological shadow in her heart.

In the past two plus years, she had thought about investigating the real reason for her parents’ accident, but back then the police said her parents’ accident was due to car problems, not intentional.

She didn’t believe it, and investigated it herself, but with her limited ability, how could she uncover the truth?

Many times, she’d wanted to give up, but the thought of not revealing the culprit made her very unwilling and she’d feel she was letting her deceased parents down.

Now, with Xi Mohan’s attitude, it was clearly signaling that he knew who the culprit was. Of course, she wanted to know, but she was also aware that Xi Mohan wouldn’t be so kind as to tell her directly.

If he really intended to tell her, he would have done so at the apartment complex, instead of bringing her here.

He brought her to the villa, surely with a purpose.

This thought surfaced in her mind, Ning Wan looked at Xi Mohan with a hint of suspicion.

Feeling the change in Ning Wan’s gaze, Xi Mohan’s face showed a hint of displeasure, his tone almost warning as he spoke to Ning Wan, "If you keep looking at me like that, I don’t mind doing something to you."

As soon as these words came out, Ning Wan was immediately frightened, retracting her gaze at once.

The man gave a faint glance at the now obedient Ning Wan, pursed his lips without saying a word, and continued walking into the villa.
