Chapter 131: Do You Like Her?

The room became quiet again.

But not long after, Zachary suddenly spoke.

"She’s already meeting Sky."

Scott was stunned, his eyebrows rising sharply. "Wow!" He looked at him in disbelief. "You work so damn fast, Zach..."

But the amusement faded slowly when another thought struck him.

"Wait," Scott said, his expression grew more serious. "Did Sky like her?"

Something subtle shifted in Zachary’s expression, and Scott noticed it instantly.

"Hmm," Zachary answered softly. "He likes her a lot." He paused for a few seconds before continuing, "And she likes him a lot, too."

Scott burst into laughter, his laughter echoing through the room. Zachary shot him a sharp glare, then pointed toward the door as a reminder that Sienna was sleeping in the next room.

"Mr. Sterling," Scott lowered his voice dramatically. "...No wonder you look so calm. You already secured Miss Sienna using my little boss, Skylar."

Zachary shook his head, gazing at the untouched coffee.

After a few seconds, he finally picked up the coffee and took a casual sip, ignoring Scott, who still stared at him with curiosity.

Scott studied him for a few moments before a knowing smile slowly spread across his face. "What about you? Do you like her?" he asked.

Silence settled between them.

Zachary lowered his gaze to the coffee cup in his hand, taken aback by Scott’s question. His fingers tightened slightly around it.

’Do you like her?’ he repeated the question in his mind.

It took him a few more seconds before he finally answered, "I don’t know."

Scott chuckled at his response. "No way, man! How could you not know your own feelings?"

Zachary shot him an icy look without saying anything more.

"Man, don’t give me that corporate CEO answer," Scott playfully said.

"It wasn’t a corporate answer."

"It absolutely was."

Zachary took another sip of coffee, calmly ignoring him.

Scott leaned closer and whispered, "Zach, let me translate for you."

"No."

"Too late, man—"

Scott cleared his throat before continuing, "’I don’t know’ means yes. ’Maybe’ means absolutely yes. And silence?" He pointed aggressively toward Zachary. "Silence means you’re already doomed."

Zachary stared at him nonchalantly. "You finished?"

Scott smiled happily. "Not even close."

Zachary slowly set down his coffee.

"Scott Anderson!"

"Yes?"

"Sleep deprivation is affecting your judgment."

Scott smirks. "And feelings are affecting yours."

Zachary says nothing; he falls silent again.

Scott chuckled at his best friend’s reaction, then stood up from his chair. "Alright, Zach, I promise I won’t tease you again—at least until lunchtime. I need to get back to work."

However, before he left, he turned to Zachary.

"Zach, call me if you need anything."

Zachary simply waved his hand, as if telling him to leave immediately.

...

After Scott left, the room fell silent again. Zachary’s gaze drifted once again toward the closed bedroom door where Sienna rested.

As he was about to check on her, a soft knock came from the door.

Zachary glanced toward the door, a slight frown forming between his brows.

"Sir, it’s me, Logan."

"Come in," he said, settling back into his seat.

The door opened shortly after.

Logan entered quietly, looking tired but composed. The man gave a respectful nod before stepping inside.

Zachary gestured toward the chair in front of him.

"Sit."

"Thank you, sir."

Logan sat immediately, maintaining his straight posture.

For a brief moment, Zachary said nothing. His mind had already drifted back to yesterday, several hours after receiving Sienna’s text.

At that time, he was abroad attending a business meeting. He was so busy that he only had time to call her a few hours after receiving her text, but she didn’t answer.

At first, he told himself that maybe Sienna was busy. Then he called her a few times, but her cell phone was inactive.

He starts to worry and decides to send a text message. However, still no reply.

Even after hours had passed, still nothing. Worry had already begun to tighten in his chest. He hated uncertainty. Especially when it involved Sienna, uncertainty worsened significantly.

So he stopped waiting.

He sent his people to check on her, and the news shocked him—Sienna Adams had been arrested.

The moment he learned the police had detained Sienna, he dropped everything. He did not even bother to finish the rest of his business trip. He cut the trip short without a second thought.

His return flight was arranged within the hour.

However, before boarding his private jet, he instructed Logan and his legal team to do whatever was necessary to assist Sienna.

Since then, during the long flight back, he had received updates only in short text messages: Information, status reports, and progress. But none of it was enough. He needs to hear directly from Logan everything his legal team has done.

Zachary’s eyes settled on Logan.

"Did you find evidence to put Benjamin Foster in jail?"

Logan straightened in his chair.

"Yes, sir." Logan opened the folder he held and handed it to Zachary. "The IT staff at the Imperial Hotel were so suspicious, they deleted the original security footage."

Zachary took the folder. His eyes narrowed slightly as he began to review the information inside.

Logan chuckled lightly before adding, "...But no worries, sir. Hunter managed to retrieve the files from the hotel’s main server backup, and we recovered the deleted footage."

A dangerous silence settled around Zachary.

"The footage, of course, supports Miss Sienna’s statement. And, we also discovered inconsistencies in Benjamin Foster’s testimony."

Zachary listened without interrupting. His expression remained unreadable.

Logan explained everything that had happened at the police station.

How attorney Aaron Powell arrived personally.

How legal pressure shifted the situation.

How the recovered evidence changed the tone of the investigation.

And, how Sienna’s bail process was completed.

Through it all, Zachary remained silent.

After a short pause, Logan spoke again.

"Sir... Mr. Powell will meet you at two this afternoon to discuss the legal steps regarding the prosecution of Benjamin Foster."

Zachary looked at him briefly.

"Alright, I understand. You can take some rest. I’ll call you if I need you."

"Yes, sir."
