Chapter 1085: Chapter 1025: Sending Dylan Back to Orienta
Adrian Desmond returned from a social gathering, having drunk quite a bit, and had just fallen asleep not long ago when Marion called him awake, his face showing an obvious annoyance at being disturbed.
"Uncle, where’s my mom?"
Dylan was frantic; he hadn’t seen his mother in her room. The bed was neatly made, as if untouched. Where did mom go?
"Your mom went traveling."
Paige Desmond handed Kiya over to Kiya and left with her luggage that day, starting her trip.
Kiya gripped the armrest of his chair tightly, asking with a stern expression, "Where did she go?"
"A global travel. How should I know exactly where she is now."
"It’s so dangerous traveling alone as a woman. You’re her brother, how can you indulge her like this?" Kiya accused.
Adrian slouched lazily, his eyes slightly cloudy from alcohol.
"She’s an adult. It’s her freedom to go wherever she wants."
Kiya couldn’t stand seeing Adrian being so irresponsible; he didn’t bother arguing further and asked directly, "Do you really not know where Paige is now?"
"I don’t know."
Of course, Adrian was concerned and sent two people to accompany Paige. Paige agreed to their company on the condition that they would not reveal her whereabouts to Kiya.
"You really don’t know?"
Adrian’s gaze coldly swept over Kiya as he uttered a maddening sentence, "Even if I did know, I wouldn’t tell you!"
"You!" Kiya was momentarily choked by Adrian.
"It’s getting late; you should leave, Your Highness."
Adrian had no patience to deal with Kiya; his wife left, and he didn’t even know why she left—truly pitiful.
If you want to chase your wife, at least show some sincerity and deal with that Princess in the Imperial Palace.
Serves him right for not being able to catch his wife. If he had half my awareness, how would he end up like this?
He’s been looking for a wife for years; let him also spend years looking, taste that feeling.
Kiya said, "Adrian, I’ll issue you a new arms trade license! Whatever else you want, as long as I can do it, I agree to it all; I just want to know where Paige went?"
Adrian didn’t even acknowledge Kiya and left directly.
The always mighty Kiya was once again stifled by Adrian here.
Perhaps it’s from sitting too long, always high above, never bothering to truly understand those around him, which is why Kiya didn’t know his words angered Adrian.
Adrian was extremely proud; Kiya’s words implied he wanted him to sell his sister for benefits. How could Adrian do something so degrading?
No matter how useless Adrian was, he wouldn’t sell his sister for benefits!
The Chief Guard saw Kiya being left alone in the reception room, extremely angry, "Your Highness, he’s too excessive, how can he treat you so lightly?"
Adrian was Paige’s real brother; what could Kiya do to him? If he dared touch Adrian, Paige might hate him forever.
Kiya instructed, "Investigate where the Princess Consort went!"
"Yes!"
...
Ultimately, Dylan chose to stay with the Desmond Family.
Dylan also recognized the reality that his parents would not be together again. He couldn’t live with his parents like other kids.
If he must choose, Dylan chooses his mother.
Oni was sent by Kiya to take care of Dylan. Oni was originally Paige’s lady-in-waiting. After Paige left, Oni stayed by Kiya’s side.
At the entrance of Desmond Manor, Dylan sat there, waiting for Paige to return. He looked quite pitiful, which made Oni feel heartache.
"Dylan, what do you want for lunch?" Oni squatted beside Dylan, asked.
"I’m not hungry."
"You’re at the age to grow, how can you not be hungry?" Oni coaxed, "Dylan, if you don’t eat, you won’t grow taller."
"Uncle!"
Whenever Dylan has nothing to do, he would sit at the entrance of the Desmond Family, waiting for his mother to return. Adrian noticed Dylan sitting at the entrance, furrowing his brows.
He got out of the car, walked towards Dylan, and asked, "Why are you sitting at the door again?"
"I’m waiting for my mom."
"..."
"Uncle, when will my mom be back?"
Adrian didn’t know what happened either; he couldn’t get in touch with Paige. Thankfully, Paige would send him a postcard every few days to assure him she’s safe.
"When your mom is done playing, she’ll naturally come back."
Dylan lowered his head, looking dejected. Adrian thought about it, this can’t continue, so he suggested, "I’ll take you to Orienta to play with Curly. How about that?"
Dylan hesitated, "What if my mom comes back and can’t find me?"
"If she comes back, I’ll let her go to Orienta to find you."
Dylan was still somewhat undecided. Adrian said, "I’m going to Orienta soon too. I can’t leave you alone at the Desmond Family; if you don’t agree to go back to Orienta with me, then I’ll have to let your father take you back to the Imperial Palace."
"I’m not going to the Imperial Palace."
"Dylan, why don’t you want to stay with your father anymore? Didn’t you insist on going back to the Imperial Palace before?"
Dylan started wiping his tears. Adrian cursed once, "Fine, I won’t ask, just don’t cry."
"Uncle, did my mom not want me? She’s tired of me not listening to her, so she doesn’t want me?"
Adrian had a headache; Dylan constantly asking about his mom—what kind of situation is this?
"Go to Orienta; when your mom comes back, I’ll let her go to Orienta to find you."
...
Adrian packed Dylan and handed him over to Sienna Johnson.
Brandon Potter personally came to deliver him. Brandon relayed Adrian’s words to Sienna Johnson, saying, "Sixth Master says Dylan’s emotional state is unstable right now, Madam, please comfort him properly.
Sixth Master fears if he continues to be so depressed, he’ll become psychologically distorted, turning into a murderer or something, asked Madam to do some psychological counseling for him.
Sixth Master says Madam studied medicine; surely you’re good at handling these issues."
Sienna Johnson bit her teeth: She studied medicine, not a psychiatrist, what psychological counseling?
"Madam, do you have any other instructions? If not, I’ll return to Abyanabad." Brandon Potter said.
"Nothing." Sienna Johnson speaks with Adrian daily; she says whatever she needs to on the phone with him.
"Then I’ll head back to Abyanabad."
"Safe travels."
Because the children were small, Sienna Johnson arranged for Dylan and Curly to share a room, thinking Curly’s lively and outgoing personality could comfort Dylan. George disagreed, saying, "Boys and girls should not have physical contact."
Boys and girls should not have physical contact?
Such a young rascal.
Finally, Sienna Johnson arranged for Dylan and George to share a room.
Abyanabad has a tradition of cousins marrying. The old Sultan married his cousin, and Adrian was also betrothed to his cousin from a young age.
Therefore, in George’s mind, Dylan was also a romantic rival.
