Chapter 1073: Chapter 1013: Noah Phillips’ Dramatic Change in Personality
Beep, beep, beep... Noah Phillips got hung up on by Sienna Johnson; his face turned dark, his eyes filled with murderous intent.
"Noah, I’m pregnant with your child, how can you still be thinking about that woman?" Hilda Potter protested, pain overflowing in her gaze.
Noah was a gentle man, elegant and refined. They’d known each other for so long, she had never seen him lose his temper, but just now he’d actually slapped her.
All for that little bitch Sienna Johnson!
"No matter how beautiful that woman is, she already belongs to someone else. What are you still thinking about her for?"
Hilda was a Miss, the apple of her parents’ eye, adored and pampered since childhood, so how could she accept that the man she loved had another woman in his heart.
"You hit her?"
"Yes, I hit her! She’s shameless, so I’m going to hit her!" Hilda wasn’t afraid of Noah at all, not to mention she was now pregnant with his child, which made her even more brazen.
"..."
"Noah, promise me you’ll never see her again, that you’ll erase her from your mind completely, and I’ll marry you. Otherwise..." Hilda threatened, "I’ll abort your son!"
"Ha ha..." Noah suddenly burst out laughing.
"What are you laughing at?" Hilda suddenly felt very scared of the man in front of her, feeling that he was shrouded in a gloomy chill, terrifying.
"Stupid woman!"
Those dark, icy, murderous eyes slowly turned to Hilda. She felt as if she had fallen into an ice cave, trembling all over, but still forced herself to hold on with that hate borne of love in her heart.
Noah walked over, grabbed Hilda’s arm, and dragged her down into the basement.
In the pitch-black basement, Hilda’s heart was pounding. "Noah, what are you bringing me here for?"
Suddenly the light switched on; Noah stood under the lamp, his whole body bathed in a halo of light.
"You dare to provoke her and make her unhappy, do you have a death wish?"
Noah was holding a rope as he walked toward Hilda. At this point, there was no jealousy left in Hilda’s heart, only fear. Noah reminded her of those psychotic serial killers.
"Noah, don’t be like this, I’m scared..."
Noah smiled, flicking the rope in his hand. "You’re being disobedient, so I have to teach you a good lesson."
"I want to go home!"
Hilda stomped up the stairs, pushed at the basement door, but no matter how she pushed, it wouldn’t budge.
She pounded on the door with all her strength, shouting, "Open up, let me out!"
A man suddenly appeared behind her and shoved her down the stairs. The staircase wasn’t high, but hitting the concrete floor still hurt like hell.
"Noah, I don’t dare anymore, let me go."
"Wouldn’t that be too easy on you?"
"Noah, for the sake of the child in my belly, let me go." Hilda begged, finally realizing she’d provoked someone she never should have.
The cultured, refined, elegant man in public was just his mask; this terrifying man now was his true face.
"Anyone who offends her, I won’t spare a single one!"
Noah hogtied this noisy woman, then took out a horsewhip and lashed it across her body again and again.
"How dare you provoke her?"
"I don’t dare anymore, I don’t dare anymore..."
Hilda had delicate, pampered skin, she’d never endured this kind of torment in her life; very soon her flesh was torn and bloody.
"Noah, I don’t dare anymore, I don’t dare anymore. For the sake of the child, let me go." Hilda cried and begged.
"A child?" Noah paused his hand.
Hilda thought Noah had softened and continued to bring up the child. "Yes, the child, our child. Noah, I know I was wrong, please forgive me..."
Noah took out a dagger and stared at Hilda’s belly. "You’re a two-faced woman, best at lying and deceiving. I’m going to see for myself whether there’s a child in your belly."
"Of course I didn’t lie to you. We can go to the hospital for an ultrasound."
"No need to make it that complicated."
"Noah, what are you going to do?"
"Slice your belly open and see if there’s a child inside..."
"No, don’t! Ah..."
...
At the Johnson Family residence,
"Mom, where’s my roast duck?"
Sienna had been thrown off by Hilda’s commotion and totally forgot. She apologized, "Sorry, I forgot."
Curly was unhappy, arms crossed over her chest, staring at Sienna with those eyes so much like Adrian Desmond’s.
Curly complained, "I know you’ve got a bad memory, so I specifically called you right before you got off work. And you still forgot?"
"I’m sorry, Mommy was wrong. How about Mommy makes braised beef for you?"
"Hmph!"
"Okay, okay, Mommy knows she was wrong. Forgive me this once."
"I’ve already forgiven you so many times. This isn’t the first time you’ve made this kind of mistake. And you just keep making it, never learning your lesson.
With you acting like this as a parent, how are you supposed to set a good example for your child?"
Sienna was scolded by Curly until she felt completely deflated. Kids really couldn’t be offended.
"Then I’ll go buy it for you now, okay?"
"They only sell fifty a day, and they’re already sold out by this time. Even if you go, you won’t get any."
"Then I’ll buy it for you tomorrow, okay?"
Curly looked up at her mother and said, "If you agree to one condition, I’ll forgive you."
"Go ahead, as long as it’s something I can do."
"I want to be on TV."
Sienna asked, "On what show?"
"That TV show ’Celebrity Interview Stories.’"
Sienna knew that interview program; she was going on it soon to tell the public the truth and turn around the negative public opinion.
Preston Keller had suggested that Curly take part, but Sienna had refused. So how did Curly know she was going on "Celebrity Interview Stories"?
"Did someone tell you something?"
"Your secretary called me today."
"Assistant Keller?"
"Yeah."
Sienna immediately understood what had happened. Preston must have failed to talk her into it and had come to work on Curly instead.
Curly had a bit of vanity, and she was still young; it was easy to stir her up.
Sienna was a little angry at Preston for taking it upon himself.
"Curly, Mommy can’t take you," Sienna said seriously.
"Why not?"
"Because Mommy can’t use you to make money."
Curly didn’t care at all, giggling as she said, "It’s okay, I don’t mind. Go ahead and use me to make money, just split half of what you earn with me."
"..."
"Mom, will you take me? I want to become a ’ming person’ too." Curly shook Sienna’s arm, acting spoiled.
"No way!" Sienna refused.
"Hmph! You don’t love me anymore."
"Come on, Mommy will go make something tasty for you." Sienna reached out to take Curly’s hand, but Curly pulled away.
The little girl had quite a temper; since she didn’t get what she wanted, she turned around and stomped off in a huff.
