Chapter 1061: Chapter 1004: I’m Acting Cute for You
Sienna Johnson screamed in frustration!
Adrian Desmond just chewed half a mouthful of curry and accidentally sprayed it on Sienna Johnson’s face. Adrian froze for a moment and then realized what he had done, hurriedly apologizing, "Sorry... I’m so sorry..."
Adrian placed his hand near his mouth, licking the corner of his lips as he looked at the mess on Sienna’s face. Unable to hold back, he burst out laughing.
"Mrs. Desmond, your face..."
Sienna Johnson wanted to use a tissue to wipe her face, yet there wasn’t any on the table. She didn’t need to see to know how embarrassing she looked right now, while that damn man across from her didn’t help but instead laughed gleefully at her misfortune.
"Adrian Desmond, you bastard!"
Sienna picked up the plate of curry in front of Adrian and dumped it on his face, making Adrian unable to laugh anymore.
"Sharing blessings and troubles together!"
Sienna headed to the bathroom to wash off the mess on her face, almost making herself sick in the process. While washing, she internally cursed Adrian.
Lacking facewash, Sienna used soap to wash her face multiple times, still feeling disgusted.
Adrian walked in with a stern expression, pushing Sienna aside to dominate the sink.
"First come, first served, don’t you know? No manners at all. So childish!"
"If you keep washing, you’ll scrub the skin right off your face."
Sienna quickly shifted her gaze away from Adrian’s face, disgustedly waving her hand, "Hurry up and wash, it’s disgusting."
Adrian originally intended to wash but suddenly felt mischievous, deliberately skipping it and even leaning his face closer to gross her out,
"Mrs. Desmond, look at me, you’ve ruined my face."
Sienna pushed him to the side of the sink, pressing his head down as she washed him herself, feeling more and more nauseated, "For the next month, don’t let me see your face, otherwise I’ll think of poop."
"Even if I were poop, I’d be the most handsome poop."
"Narcissism is a disease, it needs treatment!"
"I’m incurable then."
...
That night, after the two took a bath, they lay on a big bed. The surroundings were particularly quiet, and they didn’t turn on the lights; moonlight streamed in through the curtains.
Adrian had been sleeping poorly recently. Holding Sienna and smelling the light fragrance on her body, he quickly fell asleep. However, Sienna, troubled by heavy thoughts, couldn’t sleep at all.
Sienna couldn’t help but move, trying to escape his embrace, waking the alert Adrian.
"Still not asleep?"
"I can’t fall asleep."
Since Sienna couldn’t sleep, Adrian naturally couldn’t just sleep soundly. He turned on the bedside lamp, the dim light bringing a hint of warmth to this autumn night.
"Curly will get better, I promise." Adrian thought she was worried about Curly and comforted her softly.
Sienna stroked his face, remembering how she had personally shaved him clean during their bath. "Thank goodness I have you..." Otherwise, she wouldn’t know how to survive this difficult time.
"I know your factory was shut down, and profits this year will surely be less. I’ll make up the difference."
"Okay."
Adrian looked surprised at her, "You didn’t refuse?"
"Should I refuse?"
"Aren’t you the strong-willed type? Not one to accept what I offer."
Sienna rubbed her face against his and said, "I’m just being playful with you, didn’t you realize?"
Adrian hugged her, pulling her close, and generously said, "Whatever else you want, I’ll give it all to you."
"I want you to stay with me, never leave me."
"You’ve stolen my heart; where can I go? Have you ever seen anyone live without a heart?"
"..."
"It’s late, let’s sleep."
"I can’t sleep." Sienna belongs to the sort who overthinks things, unlike Adrian, who can eat and sleep comfortably.
"If you can’t sleep, we could engage in some ’exercise.’ Didn’t they say exercise helps with sleep?"
The moment Sienna heard this, her scalp tingled, quickly saying, "I’m sleepy, goodnight."
With that, she turned over, giving Adrian her back, pretending to be asleep. Adrian rested his hand on her waist but didn’t make any further moves.
She needed rest and adequate sleep now. The bloodshot eyes she had at the police station told him she definitely didn’t rest well there.
"Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup.
They slither while they pass, they slip away across the universe..."
Adrian sang an English song softly in Sienna’s ear. His English was excellent, with a pure Britton accent.
Sienna thought that Adrian’s family must have been very wealthy when he was little, otherwise, they wouldn’t have kept him out of school after a single kidnapping incident, opting instead to hire a group of tutors.
The soothing melody accompanied by Adrian’s magnetic voice was like a lullaby. Sienna felt her eyelids getting heavier and eventually couldn’t keep them open.
"Pools of sorrow, waves of joy are drifting through my opened mind, possessing and caressing me...
The broken lights dance before me like infinite and eternal love shining on me."
Adrian heard the steady breathing and knew she had fallen asleep, so he stopped singing.
He tucked her in, and they slept embracing each other. That night, they both slept well.
...
When Sienna Johnson woke up the next day, it was already light. Sienna felt she had slept for a long time, feeling somewhat groggy.
Out of habit, she looked over at the person beside her, but Adrian wasn’t there. Sienna thought he had gone for his morning run again.
She got up and came to the living room, discovering someone in the kitchen.
"Awake?" Adrian didn’t see her but heard her footsteps.
Sienna walked to the kitchen door and saw Adrian making breakfast. Sienna actually really liked this kind of domestic man— a true gentleman, gentle as jade. Adrian, though, was too tough, like a piece of hard steel.
Sienna walked in and handed him the oil bottle, laughing, "Adrian, you actually got up so early to make me breakfast. I’m so touched."
"Mrs. Desmond, it’s already ten o’clock! To be precise, it’s lunchtime."
"What?"
Sienna walked over to Adrian, glancing at his sports watch—ten-thirty. She said, "Why did I sleep so long?... Why didn’t you wake me?"
"Why wake you?"
"To make food for Curly, of course."
"Isn’t that why I’m here?"
"You don’t cook as well."
Adrian glared at Sienna, saying nothing, but his look was a blatant threat. Sienna quickly changed her tune, "It’s good, it’s good..."
"So, who cooks better, me or your ex-fiancé?"
"Of course, you, Sixth Master."
Adrian’s lips tugged into a little smile, the upward curve indicating he was in a good mood. Sienna secretly laughed: Childish!
"I also think I cook much better than that man."
Sienna: Sixth Master, where does your confidence come from?
