Chapter 1057: Chapter 1001: Someone You Can’t Afford to Offend

"A crush is my own damn business!"

Maybe he would never be able to be with Sienna Johnson in this lifetime, but no one could make him change his mind.

"Sienna Johnson is my woman! You don’t even get to have a crush on her!" Adrian Desmond said overbearingly.

"Just a little more, and Sienna Johnson would’ve been my wife!"

Like he’d just heard the biggest joke in the world, Adrian let out a mocking laugh. "She will never become your wife."

Adrian told Kenneth Brown the truth, that cruel fact Sienna had tried so hard to hide. "That night, even if you hadn’t touched those two whores, I still had ways to make sure you’d never marry Sienna Johnson."

"What do you mean?"

Adrian looked at Kenneth and said wickedly, "Those two whores that night were mine."

Kenneth stared in shock at the man in front of him. He had always thought it was because he’d been drunk and out of his mind that he’d made that lifelong, unforgivable mistake. He never imagined someone had set him up.

"Why did you do that?" Kenneth demanded angrily.

"Obviously, to stop you from marrying Sienna Johnson." Adrian flicked the dust off his sleeve, his tone light.

"How could you do that?" he accused.

"Because she’s my woman."

Kenneth swung a punch. Adrian caught his fist and narrowed his eyes dangerously. "And... stay away from my daughter." Then he shoved Kenneth hard. Kenneth stumbled back several steps before he managed to steady himself.

He glared furiously at the arrogant man before him like he was staring at his worst enemy. All his hatred had finally found a target.

"I’ll tell Sienna! I’ll let her see just how filthy and despicable you are!"

"Do as you please."

If it were before, Adrian might’ve worried. Now he was fearless. He held both his daughter and son as trump cards, and Sienna had feelings for him too. He refused to believe that rational Sienna would abandon him and the children to choose Kenneth Brown.

"Bastard!"

Melly stared at Kenneth from the corner, seeing the burning hatred on his face. She toyed with the dagger in her hand and only spoke after Adrian walked away.

"Don’t even think about revenge. Sixth Master is not someone you can afford to provoke."

It’d be like an egg smashing itself against a rock—pure suicide.

"He’s gone way too far!" Kenneth said angrily.

"A woman like Madam, in the old days she’d be called a calamity to the whole damn country. You really think a plain guy like you could keep her?

Even if it wasn’t Sixth Master, some other man would come to snatch her away.

You might as well let it go..."

Kenneth glared toward Melly in the corner. Half her face was hidden in shadow, like a venomous snake lying in wait.

"So I’m just supposed to swallow this?"

"If you don’t, what, you planning to go get revenge?" Melly looked him over with contempt. "Sixth Master wouldn’t even need to lift a finger. Someone as weak as you? I could kill you without breaking a sweat."

"Who the hell are you people?"

Melly stepped out of the shadows. Her face was strikingly pretty. She hooked up her red lips and said arrogantly, "People you can’t afford to mess with."

Kenneth said without fear, "You mean you’ll kill me? I’m not afraid to die."

"If you had no ties, then sure, you could go all out. But are you really willing to see your parents, your brother and sister die because of you?"

Kenneth hesitated.

Melly went on, "...Sixth Master loves Madam a lot. If you dare openly go against him for her and piss him off, he’s got a hundred ways to make your life worse than death.

I just think you’re pathetic, so I’m being nice and warning you... Whether you listen or not is your call."

Melly lifted the dagger in her hand and looked at his neck. "I once used this knife to drain a man’s blood dry. Waiting for death bit by bit—feels very... special.

Want to try it?"

"Psycho!" Kenneth turned and strode away.

Sabrina Conner walked out and said to Melly, "What are you scaring him for?"

"I don’t want him doing something stupid."

Sabrina went around Melly to stand in front of her, staring at her face. Melly stepped back warily and asked, "What are you doing?"

"Don’t tell me you’ve fallen for Kenneth Brown?"

"Get lost. Do I look like some slut who hits on any guy?"

"Yeah, you do. One look and you can tell you’ve got the face of a whore." Sabrina shot off with her filthy mouth.

Melly raised the dagger in her hand and thrust it toward Sabrina’s throat. Sabrina yelled, "Reggie Dewey, your woman’s trying to kill me!"
