Chapter 39: Cassie’s First Day (2)
Vini and his group could be considered regulars. They didn’t appear in the club every night, but they were there regularly enough that Stacy and the other girls knew them.
And at least one of them had taken their orders at any given time. So Stacy’s asking was more of a courtesy than anything else. Especially because they said they were there to celebrate.
"Just get us the regular Beluga, two bottles. And a bottle of Krug for the table. Get the Rosé this time, not the Blanc."
"Got it, two Beluga, a Rosé, and a Krug."
Viktor, Vini’s right-hand man, said, "No upsell, Stace? Not looking to make the big bucks tonight?"
Stacey turned to him and smiled, placing a hand on her hips. "You said you were celebrating. Figured you already knew how drunk you wanted to get."
"But if you want the upsell, try Tears of Llorona; it’s the only bottle in the building."
Viktor smirked, "The dark one? That tastes like burnt wood?"
"It’s the taste of leather and smoke," Stacey retorted. "It’s eighteen hundred. I can bring it over with the rest of the stuff. I’ll put it on the side if you decide to switch things up later."
"Nah, I think I’ll pass. I’d rather go outside and burn wood and smell it than drink that stuff."
Stacey shook her head. "Well, I could always help you do that too if that’s what you’re into, but you’d have to pay extra."
Viktor laughed.
Cassie watched the easy banter, and she wasn’t sure she could be so at ease with them the way Stacey was.
She stood over in the corner like a wallflower waiting to be called. She observed. This would be her job now. And while she had doubts, she needed to see what it entailed.
When Stacey finished taking the order, she gestured to Cassie, and they walked out of the room.
"What’s wrong with you?"
"Nothing," Cassie shook her head.
Stacey saw Cassie looking uncertain. She knew exactly what it was. Not everyone could do this kind of work, but Cassie hadn’t even tried. Stacey could see she already had preconceived notions.
"Don’t box yourself in. I know you don’t understand the work, but don’t judge it before you try it. Every job has its difficulties, but I need you to try. You’ve already formed an idea in your head, and that’s why you’re so resistant, right?"
Cassie pursed her lips. She didn’t deny or confirm, but that in itself was an answer.
Seeing Stacey observing her, her eyes somewhat disappointed, Cassie couldn’t help mentally slapping herself. She knew she had her prejudices. She also knew she needed to put them aside; otherwise it would harm not only her but also her friendship.
She took a breath, then said, "I’ll try. I’ll do the job and not be so mopey."
Stacey nodded. She didn’t advise Cassie any further.
Both headed over to the bar to get their drinks. When everything was set up, Stacey handed Cassie the tray.
"Let’s go; this is your first try."
They strutted across the floor, sparklers lit and looking like they were walking back into an amazing party.
Cassie saw the people looking at them and felt a little self-conscious, but the way Stacey ignored them, she remembered this was a common occurrence.
It’s like walking from your cubicle to the break room, perfectly normal.
This was her job. She was getting paid to be lively. Even if she fakes it for a few hours, it wouldn’t kill her.
So when she opened the door to the private room, faced with the twelve men in the room, she didn’t shy away this time.
"Alright boys, drinks are here. And so are the two hottest girls you’ve ever seen in your life."
Stacey did a little dance, walked over to Vini and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek while pressing his face into her tits.
"For your celebration," she said, before standing up.
Cassie placed the tray on the table, and Stacey helped get the drinks and ice bucket ready.
Viktor, who had seen Stacey’s display, couldn’t help saying, "Stace, so where’s my welcome?"
"Your welcome? What kind of welcome do you want?"
Viktor pointed to Cassie, who had stepped away with the tray and was genuinely looking amused.
"How about your friend gives me the same treatment? I’ve always been an ass man. I would mind a little show."
Stacey looked at Cassie; she tilted her head, telling her to go ahead.
Cassie bit her lip. This was unexpected. But she had already confirmed with Stacey that she wouldn’t be prejudiced about her work. She wasn’t doing anything crazy, just a little lap dance. It won’t kill her. She put the tray down, walked over to Viktor, and started twerking on his lap.
The men around the room started cheering. There was already music in the room, so Cassie moved to the beat. When Stacey saw it, she couldn’t help cheering.
And so, the night began.
Cassie and Stacey ran between three different tables. Cassie realized the experience with Vini’s table was one of the more pleasant happenings in the club.
There was one where the guy ordered a bottle, and when it was time to pay, he wanted to walk out on the bill. If not for Stacey stealing his wallet, they might have been stuck with the bill.
When it happened, Stacey said, "One thing I learned after my first walk out was to pick their pockets. I only use my skills for people who think they can walk out on a tab. Doesn’t matter when they come back for it. They still need to pay the tab."
"What if they don’t come back?" Cassie asked.
"It’s rare they wouldn’t come back. Most of them hide their wedding rings in there. Can’t afford to lose that," she said, smirking.
By the time the shift ended, Cassie was exhausted; her feet were killing her. But she realized that at some point, she had begun to genuinely enjoy herself.
The customers weren’t easy to deal with, but the sense of freedom was great.
She thought to herself that maybe this was the reason Cassie stuck to this job for so long. She was a free-spirited person, and she needed such an environment.
