Chapter 408: Chapter 408: I’m sorry for being so intense

Hours later...

Maya had lost count of how many times she’d come.

Kai had claimed her in every position, every way, with absolute intensity.

He’d marked her completely, bruises on her hips from his grip, fingerprints on her ass from spanking, bite marks on her neck and shoulders, visible marks everywhere that proved beyond question that she belonged to him.

Now she was lying on her back, completely exhausted, with Kai between her legs moving inside her with slow, deep thrusts.

This wasn’t about chasing orgasm anymore. This was about connection. About him reminding her through every movement that she was his.

"I love you," Kai said, his pace never faltering. "So much. And I need you to understand something."

"What?" Maya gasped.

"That nobody else gets to look at you like that," Kai said. "Nobody else gets to flirt with you. Nobody else gets to think for even a moment that they have a chance with you. You’re mine. Completely. Forever."

"I’m yours," Maya said, her hands finding his face and pulling him down to kiss her. "Only yours. Always yours."

The orgasm that built between them was slow and deep and absolutely connected.

When they came together, it was with the certainty of two souls that belonged completely to each other.

Later, as Maya lay against Kai’s chest, completely marked and thoroughly claimed, she felt something shift inside her.

This jealousy, this possessiveness, it wasn’t about control or insecurity. It was about love so deep that the thought of anyone else even looking at her drove him crazy.

She understood it now. Understood why possessive male wolves claimed so thoroughly. It wasn’t about ownership in a negative way. It was about devotion. About love so intense that they needed to mark it physically, spiritually, permanently.

"I’m sorry for being so intense," Kai said softly, pressing a kiss to her forehead.

"Don’t be," Maya said. "I loved every second of it. Loved being claimed like that. Loved knowing how much you want me."

"I do want you," Kai said. "More than anything. More than anyone."

"Good," Maya said. "Because I’m completely, utterly yours."

The next day, when Maya showed up for training, every mark on her body was visible.

The bruises on her hips. The bite marks on her neck and shoulders. The hand prints on her ass was showing from the waste-line of her short.

Tyler took one look at her and immediately understood.

He didn’t approach her during training. Didn’t try to engage in friendly banter. Just gave her professional acknowledgment and kept his distance.

And from across the training yard, Kai watched with complete satisfaction, his wolf absolutely settled knowing that every other wolf in the pack understood exactly who Maya belonged to.

That evening, as Kai pulled her close, his hands immediately found the marks he’d left on her body.

"Everyone knows now," he said with satisfaction. "Everyone knows you’re mine."

"I am," Maya confirmed. "They all know that i am yours."

And she meant every word.

POV: Eve

The morning started like most mornings did at the estate.

Eve woke to find Damian already awake beside her, watching her sleep with an expression of complete contentment. Damon was still deeply asleep on her other side, his arm thrown across her waist. And Silas was in the bathroom, she could hear the shower running.

It was a peaceful moment. No pack emergencies, no Court politics, no urgent business demanding immediate attention.

Just... ordinary.

"Morning," Damian said softly, pressing a kiss to her forehead.

"Morning," Eve replied, snuggling deeper into his chest. "What time is it?"

"Early. You can sleep more if you want."

"I don’t want to sleep," Eve said. "Want to just... be. Like this."

Damian tightened his arms around her, seemingly perfectly content with that plan.

By the time they made it downstairs for breakfast, all three of her mates were present and accounted for. Silas had finished his shower, Damon had showered in the other bathroom, and they’d all gathered in the kitchen.

Eve was in the process of making breakfast, pancakes, because Damon had requested them with the particular enthusiasm of someone who genuinely loved food, when Damian wrapped his arms around her from behind.

"You don’t have to cook," he said. "We can have the kitchen staff..."

"I want to," Eve said simply. "I like cooking. Makes me feel normal."

"You’re never going to be normal," Silas pointed out, but he said it fondly. "You’re a Queen, a Luna, and mated to three Alphas. Normal isn’t really in your future."

"Fine," Eve amended. "Makes me feel human then. Makes me feel like there’s more to my life than politics and pack dynamics."

"There is," Damon said, appearing beside her with a kiss to her shoulder. "There’s us. There’s moments like this. There’s breakfast and bad jokes and just... existing together."

They ate together at the kitchen table, something Eve had insisted on despite having a formal dining room. They talked about nothing important. Damon told a terrible joke that made them all groan. Silas discussed a book he was reading. Damian mentioned that the training yard had finished its expansion.

It was ordinary. Mundane. And absolutely perfect.

After breakfast, Eve had pack business, a meeting with Brynn about upcoming ceremonies and a review of pack applications. But before she left, all three of her mates hugged her at the door.

"Be back for dinner?" Damon asked.

"I’ll try," Eve said. "Depending on how long the meeting runs."

"If you’re not back by six, we’re sending a search party," Silas said with a slight smile.

"You’re joking, but you’re actually not," Eve said, knowing him completely.

"I’m actually not," Silas confirmed.

Eve spent three hours in the pack office with Brynn, reviewing applications and discussing ceremony logistics. By the time she finished, it was past noon, and she was tired from decision-making.

She found herself wandering toward the estate library, a large, quiet space that had become her refuge when she needed to think.

But instead of being empty, she found Damian there.

He was in one of the high-backed chairs near the window, a book in his lap, but he wasn’t reading. He was just... sitting. Looking peaceful.

"Shouldn’t you be training?" Eve asked.
