Chapter 201: The Wedding

Aurora’s POV

I sat in a quiet corner of my dressing room, my fingers trembling slightly as I adjusted the heavy sapphire necklace at my throat. The gown I wore felt both delicate and heavy, its thick lace and flowing silk train brushing against the polished floor, constantly reminding me of the weight of tonight’s ceremony. This wasn’t just a wedding; it was a coronation.

Oliver had insisted that we waste absolutely no time getting married. Within a single week of him dropping to one knee at the restaurant, everything had been prepared. He had told me, his dark eyes burning with fierce intensity, that he couldn’t wait another day to have me officially as his wife and Luna—that there was no point in dragging out a process when our souls were already bound.

I took a deep, steadying breath, placing a protective hand over my flat belly, willing my racing pulse to calm. I was only two months pregnant, so my stomach wasn’t really protruding yet, but knowing our baby was growing inside me made the night feel infinitely more sacred.

"Calm down, Aurora," my wolf purred softly, her spirit stretching comfortably inside my mind. "Our mate is waiting. Tonight, we take our rightful place."

This night wasn’t just for me and Oliver. It was for the entire pack.

"Stop fidgeting," Clara’s teasing voice broke through my swirling thoughts. I looked up to see her grinning at me from ear to ear, her brown hair pinned back with little silver clips that caught the light. "You look absolutely perfect. No, beyond perfect. Like a literal goddess."

I gave her a small, breathless smile, my hands still hovering over my skirt. "Easy for you to say. You’re not about to promise yourself to a powerful Alpha and an entire territory all in one night."

"True," she said with a soft laugh, kneeling down to carefully adjust the intricate lace train of my dress. "But if anyone is ready for this, Aurora, it’s you. Look at everything you’ve already survived and overcome. The pack adores you. And Oliver? That man looks at you like you hung every single star in the sky."

I blushed deeply, glancing at the beautiful silver circlet resting on the vanity. It wasn’t physically heavy, but I couldn’t ignore the massive significance of what it symbolized. Luna. I was about to step into a role that came with immense power, responsibility, and the expectations of thousands.

Before I could reply, a soft knock sounded on the door, and James wheeled himself into the room. A brilliant, healthy smile lit up his face, and his hazel eyes—so remarkably like my own—sparkled with pure joy.

"You ready, Liv?" he asked, his voice soft but steady.

I nodded, my throat instantly tightening with a wave of thick emotion. "I think so."

"You’ve got this," he said firmly, rolling closer to reach out and squeeze my hand. His grip was warm and filled with a strength I had prayed for during all his years in that hospital bed. "And I’m so incredibly proud of you. Mom and Dad would be, too."

His words struck a profound chord deep inside my chest, and I felt my eyes instantly sting with hot tears. I leaned down, wrapping my arms around his shoulders and pressing a fierce kiss to his cheek. "Thank you, James. Having you here... it’s the best gift I could ever ask for."

Clara handed me my bouquet—a stunning, wild mix of forest wildflowers and white roses. It was simple, elegant, and perfectly captured the spirit of the woods. I took one last deep breath of the fragrant petals.

"It’s time," Clara whispered softly, her own excitement shining brightly in her eyes.

I straightened my spine, smoothing down the front of my gown as James took his position by my side, offering his arm for me to hold. With a final glance at Clara and a shared nod, I stepped out into the crisp evening air.

The moment I stepped onto the path, the sheer beauty of the setup took my breath away. Strings of golden fairy lights hung between the ancient, towering trees, casting a warm, magical glow over the entire space. The wedding was being held in the sacred ceremonial garden behind the main pack house. The path before me was heavily lined with fresh petals, leading directly to a grand wooden arch draped in lush green vines and white roses. It felt like walking straight into a beautiful dream.

And then, my eyes locked onto him.

Oliver stood at the very end of the aisle, his sea-blue eyes instantly pinning mine the second I appeared. He wore a perfectly tailored black suit with a dark forest-green tie—the exact shade of the pine trees, a color that made his dominant stance look even more striking. His posture was as strong and steady as a mountain, but the raw expression on his face stole the breath right from my lungs. It was completely full of love, awe, and a fierce, vulnerable devotion that he rarely ever showed the world.

Beside him stood Alpha Knox, acting as his best man. Knox was grinning like the proud, mischievous friend he always was, his previous reservations completely melted away. In the front row sat Oliver’s mother, Lady Hailee, her eyes glistening with proud, unshed tears as she watched us. The rest of the pack guests stood tightly packed behind them, their excited murmurs instantly quieting into a reverent silence the moment my feet hit the carpet.

With every single step I took, guided carefully by James walking beside his wheelchair, my lingering nerves completely melted away.

"Mate. Husband. Alpha," my wolf echoed, practically dancing with pride.

When I finally reached the altar, James released my hand with a reassuring nod. Oliver stepped forward immediately, his large, warm fingers wrapping around mine, his touch instantly sending a familiar, soothing spark right through my veins.

"You look breathtaking, Aurora," he whispered, his deep voice low, rough, and thick with emotion.

"And you look a little nervous," I teased softly, giving his hand a gentle squeeze. A quiet, relieved laugh rumbled in his chest, his shoulders visibly relaxing.

The officiant, a wise and respected elder of the pack, stepped forward between us. His deep, resonant voice carried effortlessly through the quiet clearing. "Today, under the sacred light of the full moon, we gather to witness a union of hearts and a historic joining of leadership. Together, Alpha Oliver and Aurora will guide our people with strength, wisdom, and an unbreakable love."

As the traditional ceremony began, my heart swelled with every spoken word. When it finally came time for our vows, I turned fully to face Oliver, holding both of his hands tightly in mine.

"I, Aurora, promise to love you with all that I am," I began, my voice trembling slightly but growing stronger with every word. "To stand by your side as your absolute equal, to guide this pack with kindness and courage, and to protect the bond we share through every trial. You are my home, my strength, and my Alpha."

Oliver’s dark eyes glistened, a rare moisture appearing in them as he looked down at me and spoke his own vows. "I, Oliver, promise to stand by your side, in strength and in weakness, in joy and in sorrow. You are my heart, my partner, and my Luna. Together, we will lead and protect our people, united always, through this life and the next."

A tear slipped down my cheek as his voice cracked slightly at the very end, revealing the depth of his feelings.

The officiant then lifted a heavy silver cup filled with pure water from the pack’s sacred spring. "As Alpha and Luna, you are bound not only to each other, but to the very soul of the pack. Drink, and seal your bond with this sacred promise."

Oliver took the cup first. His intense gaze never left mine for a second as he took a sip. When he handed the silver vessel to me, our fingers brushed, igniting a powerful current of electricity between us. I drank the cool, refreshing water, feeling its heavy symbolism settle deep into my soul.

The officiant turned to me, picking up the polished silver Luna crown from its velvet cushion. "Aurora, do you accept the responsibilities of Luna, to guide, protect, and love this pack as your own family?"

"I do," I said firmly, my voice ringing clear across the quiet forest.

The moment the silver crown was placed securely onto my head, the entire clearing exploded into a deafening roar of cheers. Powerful howls from the pack echoed through the trees, accompanied by thunderous applause that shook the night air.

Oliver smiled, a brilliant, proud expression of pure love radiating from him as he stepped in close. "My Luna," he growled softly, a sound meant only for my ears, before leaning down and capturing my lips in a deep, passionate kiss.

The cheers grew even louder, but I barely noticed the noise. I was completely caught up in the overwhelming wave of joy, security, and love that wrapped around us.

The rest of the night passed in a beautiful, spinning blur of celebration. We shared our very first dance as husband and wife, Oliver holding me securely against his chest while our guests watched with bright smiles and emotional tears. At one point, Oliver walked over to James’s wheelchair, pulling my brother right into the center of the dance floor. Oliver spun the chair playfully in rhythm with the music while James laughed loudly, his face full of life. Watching the two men I loved most bonding brought fresh tears of happiness to my eyes.

Later on, as the night grew deeper, I stood near the roaring bonfire, quietly watching our people celebrate and dance. Suddenly, two strong arms wrapped securely around my waist from behind, and Oliver pulled my back flush against his chest.

"What are you thinking about, my beautiful Luna?" he murmured softly, his warm breath fanning against my ear, sending a pleasant shiver down my spine.
