Chapter 72: A clash between Spears [3]
Evelyne’s eyes shook in surprise when she felt the spear intent from Klein.
’He is just 21 but he has already mastered Spear Intent? A-And he can enter ’Boundary’ state too...’
She clutched her temple in disblief ’...A prodigy.’
(⚆ᗝ⚆) Erica was dumbfounded as she sat there, staring at the arena floor, where Klein stood radiating that powerful white aura.
’What the fuck?’
’That’s called ’spear intent,’ right? He reached that stage atsuch an young age?’
The entire VIP section was silent for a moment as the division heads and the Headmaster processed what they were witnessing.
Shui Yinran’s face turned pale as she watched Klein in genuine shock.
The Headmaster, Professor Alden Voss, stroked his beard thoughtfully.
"This duel has become far more significant than we anticipated. A first-year student displaying Spear Intent... what are your thoughts on this, Miss Shui Yinran?"
Shui Tinran turned to him and forced a smile "It is indeed impressive... he is worthy to become my disciple."
In the stands, the students were in an uproar.
"Did you see that white aura? What is that?!"
"Is that Spear Intent? No way a first-year can have that!"
"Ji Shenyi is in trouble now..."
"FUCK NO! THE CREDITS I BET!"
"AHHH! MY CREDITS!"
Liora, sitting among the Spirit Division students, grinned widely.
"That’s my guy," she said proudly. "He’s going to crush her."
The Saintess, Eleanor De Valeria, watched with a knowing smile on her lips as she observed Klein.
’My husband... you never cease to amaze me.’
Her cheeks flushed slightly ’He is so hot when he is angry... I need the entire footage of this fight... for some obvious reason.’
She shifted slightly in her seat, her blue eyes never leaving Klein as the white aura of Spear Intent continued to radiate from him.
In the arena, Ji Shenyi gripped her spear tightly, ’This overwhelming pressure...’
The weight of Klein’s Spear Intent was crushing, making it difficult for her to even breathe properly.
Her body trembled slightly as she tried to resist the oppressive aura.
*swoosh* As she blinked, Klein dashed forward with explosive speed.
His spear swung in a powerful arc and Ji Shenyi raised her spear to block it, but the force of the swing was overwhelming.
*CLANG*
’Fuc-’ The impact smashed into her guard, sending her flying backward across the arena floor.
*THOOM* She collided hard into the magical barrier with a loud crash and the force caused visible cracks to spiderweb across the barrier’s surface.
The crowd gasped collectively, many students standing up in shock as they watched Ji Shenyi slide down the barrier, blood trickling from the corner of her mouth.
Klein didn’t stop. He dashed forward again, his spear glowing with both mana and Spear Intent as he thrust it toward her.
The white aura around the blade made it seem like a spear of pure light as it aimed for her chest.
Ji Shenyi barely managed to roll to the side and scrambled to her feet, breathing heavily.
Klein’s eyes were cold as he looked at her ’Face the consequences for using my technique.’
She tried to counter with a desperate slash, but Klein deflected it effortlessly with the shaft of his spear and delivered a powerful kick to her midsection.
"Urghhh!"
*THUD* The impact lifted her off the ground and sent her flying into the magical barrier again.
*swoosh*
Standing up, she tried to counter again ’Raging Azure Dragon-’
But Klein deflected it effortlessly with the shaft of his spear and stepped in close, using his free hand to grab her spear shaft.
He yanked her forward and delivered a powerful knee strike to her stomach.
"Argh-" The impact lifted her off the ground for a moment before she crashed back down.
Ji Shenyi coughed up blood, but she refused to fall.
She spun her spear in a wide arc, trying to create space, but Klein was already inside her guard.
He slammed the blunt end of his spear into her shoulder, the white aura amplifying the strike and cracking her collarbone with a sickening *crack*.
The crowd gasped as Ji Shenyi staggered, her spear dropping slightly.
Klein swept his spear low, catching her legs and sending her tumbling across the arena floor.
She rolled several times before stopping with several bruises all over her body.
Her breathing was ragged and her uniform was slightly torn and stained with blood and dirt.
Using her spear as a crutch, she tried to push herself up with trembling legs as she struggled to stand.
Klein’s eyes were cold as he looked at her, the white aura of his Spear Intent still radiating powerfully around him.
He raised his spear as the blade glowed with a dark, ominous light ’Dark Moon: New Moon Veil’
The arena grew darker for a brief moment as a veil of shadowy energy spread from his spear.
The technique created an illusion of a new moon, a perfect circle of darkness that seemed to swallow the light around it.
The crowd gasped as the shadowy veil expanded, making it difficult to see clearly within its range.
Ji Shenyi’s eyes widened in terror because she had seen her Master use the same technique before.
’How does he know that?’
She tried to raise her spear to defend, but it was too late.
Klein thrust his spear forward, and the shadow energy of the New Moon Veil surged through the blade.
A powerful blast of shadowy energy erupted from the tip, slamming into Ji Shenyi with the force of a mountain.
"GRAARGHHHH!"
*THOOOOM* The shadowy energy tore through her defenses, sending her flying backward across the arena like a ragdoll.
She crashed into the magical barrier with a thunderous *boom* and the force caused the entire barrier to shake violently.
Cracks spread across its surface as she slid down, her body leaving a trail of blood on the barrier.
The crowd was completely silent for a moment, stunned by the sheer power of the technique.
The referee raised his hand.
"The winner is Klein Faress!"
The arena erupted in cheers and applause as the magical barrier deactivated.
Klein stood in the center of the arena floor with a cold expression on his face.
Liora jumped from her seat "KLEEINNNNN!!! RAAAHHHH! HE ACTUALLY WON!"
Her voice carried over the roar of the crowd as she cheered wildly.
The other Spirit Division students around her joined in, chanting Klein’s name as they celebrated their division’s victory.
The arena erupted in applause again and students from all divisions were on their feet, some cheering for Klein’s incredible performance, others stunned by the one-sided result.
Evelyne stood up from her seat in the Student Council section, clapping her hands with a soft, proud smile on her face.
In the VIP section, the Headmaster Alden Voss, was amazed "Remarkable," he murmured. "A first-year student defeating an A-rank Vice-President with such dominance."
Erica’s eyes shook ’That’s my student...’ she thought, a warm smile spreading across her face.
Shui Yinran stood there in absolute silence as she looked at Klein.
Her disciple’s defeat in front of the entire academy was a massive blow to her reputation.
But that’s not the main issue...
’Just now he used the second form of the Dark Moon technique... how is that possible?’
He looked down at Ji Shenyi, who lay on the ground, before turning his gaze toward the VIP section where Shui Yinran was standing.
Shui Yinran forced a smile onto her face and amplified her voice with mana so that every person in the arena could hear her clearly.
"You have done very well, Klein Faress."
"You caused such a commotion because I refused to accept you as my disciple, correct?"
"You have proven your worth. I will accept you as my disciple."
The crowd murmured in surprise at her offer.
A division head accepting a first-year as a disciple was a rare honor, and many expected Klein to jump at the opportunity.
But Klein’s expression didn’t change.
He gripped his spear tightly and with a powerful throw, he hurled the spear straight toward the VIP section.
*sleesh*
The spear shot forward like a bolt of lightning, crashing through the VIP area and heading directly for Shui Yinran.
She turned her head at the last moment, and the spear embedded itself deep into the wall behind her with a loud *thud*, the shaft vibrating from the force of the throw.
Everyone in the VIP section stood up in shock as they stared at the spear now lodged in the wall mere inches from where Shui Yinran had been standing.
The students in the stands were confused and looked at each other in disbelief.
Pointing his finger directly at Shui Yinran, Klein’s voice rang out across the arena.
"I, Klein Faress, am challenging the Head of the Spear Division, Shui Yinran, to a Spear Duel... right now."
