Chapter 446: Chapter 446 Episode 060 - A Forefather as a Hostage (1)

It wasn’t until they were halfway through transferring Flossie Wright that they reacted with hindsight. A chord, seemingly severed by severe shock, seemed to suddenly reconnect, prompting new considerations about Flossie’s intentions.

Even a fool might take the chance to escape given the circumstances. Having defeated all of them, escaping would have been a simple matter for Flossie. However, she had taken them by surprise, climbing directly into their car. This was not the behavior of a fool, was it?

Without a motive, who would believe she was willing to walk into the lion’s den?

But after considering all possibilities, the only explanation that made sense was that she intended to expose their stronghold. If the police arrived shortly after they took Flossie back...

Just thinking about it was enough to break them out in a cold sweat.

But all they had were guesses. As soon as Flossie had gotten in the car, she fell asleep. She showed no interest in surveying the landscape, and barely even glanced out of the window. Her demeanor was casual, as if she were merely dropping by a neighbor’s house.

"Should we head somewhere else first?"

The man in the passenger seat turned around, cautiously glanced at Flossie in the back seat, then quietly posed the question to the driver.

Ever since they realized the person in their car wasn’t so innocent, the drivers of each vehicle had been communicating through their cell phones. The men sitting beside Flossie were almost always watching her without batting an eye, afraid she might make a dangerous move.

Because they couldn’t figure her out, their usual methods seemed ineffective and antiquated.

They tried using force, only to be knocked down. They brought her back, only to worry about her revealing their location. They tossed her out of the car, only to face the punishment for an incomplete mission upon return...

What could they do?

Apart from driving the car and being vigilant of Flossie’s movements, they were out of options.

"Hmm."

The driver pondered for a moment before eventually nodding decisively, beginning to drive aimlessly around the city.

They didn’t have many hideouts. Given the recent scrutiny by the police and military, there were fewer places they could go. Eventually, they’d have to return to their main stronghold. They were just making detours to avoid potential followers.

Initially, they hadn’t intended to target Flossie, but Glenn Hutchinson. After all, it was Glenn who had stolen their list.

However, after trailing him for so long without finding a suitable opportunity, they saw Flossie have an argument with Glenn and leave in a huff. That’s when they decided to target Flossie, planning to blackmail Glenn with her. If they were lucky, they might even pry some information from her.

Sadly, no matter what, they had never expected Flossie to be so difficult, her actions so unusual. It was as if she was trying to cover up something, her motives hidden and unfathomable.

If she wanted to know their hideout, why didn’t she let them take her away quietly? Why the sudden need to knock them all down?

If there wasn’t another motive, after beating them, why didn’t she just leave? Why would she so casually climb into their car?

It was too contradictory.

A real headache.

"Don’t waste time."

Flossie, who appeared to be deep in sleep, suddenly opened her eyes. Her voice was frosty, just like the temperature of the winter season. Even in the warmth of the car, the sound of it sent a chill down their spines.
