Chapter 95: Chapter 84: Hit the Jackpot (Part 2)

The battle for the Bloodfang camp was all but decided.

All resistance had long been extinguished. Only occasionally would a few goblins trying to hide be dragged out by the Skeletons and slaughtered on the spot.

Lynch felt not an ounce of pity for this greedy, cruel, filthy, and tyrannical race. He had only one order for the Soul Fire Undead under his command.

Kill them all!

By the time Lynch and his party arrived at the final battleground, the Bloodfang Chieftain was already a spent force.

Covered in wounds and pushed to its absolute limit, Bloodfang finally collapsed in despair when it saw its respected old Shaman and the Barbaric Beast turned into Skeletons—one of which even shot a small Fireball at it. Its last shred of fighting spirit vanished.

"ROAR—!"

With a bellow, it abandoned all defense and evasion, swinging its heavy hammer like a madman as it launched a suicidal charge toward Bone Jade and the Black Corpse.

The outcome was never in doubt.

It ended with a righteous beatdown.

The Bloodfang Chieftain’s imposing body finally froze in place.

The heavy hammer slipped from its grasp, falling to the ground with a CLANG.

Its body crashed to the ground. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

The Bloodfang Tribe was, from this moment on... utterly annihilated.

Cradling the mermaid Sea Song in his arms, Lynch rode Red Rabbit and slowly approached Bloodfang’s corpse, looking down upon this trophy.

’This really is...’

’A perfect Warrior’s body.’

Even in death, its iron-hard, knotted muscles, its dark, blood-red skin, and the scars that covered its body—testaments to the glory of countless battles—all spoke of its power and bravery in life.

Moreover, its bones were thick and its sinews tough. The power it contained had not yet fully dissipated, even after death.

Lynch, who had originally planned to pray to the Nether God and resurrect it as a Skeleton, couldn’t help but fall into deep thought upon seeing this.

’If I use the Skeleton Resurrection Skill, with good luck, I might be able to create an elite Skeleton Warrior with a Soul Fire. It might even start as a Tier Two, with immense potential.’

’But if my luck is bad and I only get a plain Skeleton, this powerful physical body will have been wasted.’

’And it would be difficult for me to hunt down another Warrior this powerful anytime soon.’

He glanced at the Black Corpse beside him.

Its bluish-black body was now covered with new wounds, many of them deep enough to expose bone. Clearly, its head-on clash with Bloodfang had come at a considerable price.

As the strongest frontline tank and shock trooper currently under his command, the Black Corpse undertook almost all the most dangerous combat assignments.

An idea sparked in Lynch’s mind, and a plan began to form.

’I’ll save it for now.’

’Once I learn the Corpse Resurrection Skill, I’ll turn it into a zombie. Then I’ll continue to develop it in the direction of a Black Corpse.’

The Corpse Resurrection Skill, unlike the Skeleton Resurrection Skill, focuses more on preserving a portion of the corpse’s physical strength from its life. It is the fundamental Magic for creating zombie-type Undead units.

However, a resurrected zombie requires extensive processing. Otherwise, it will quickly rot and reek, and the academy won’t even let you through the gates.

It doesn’t matter if you’re just using them as disposable troops on the battlefield, of course.

Therefore, when cultivating zombies, many Necromancers prefer to raise a small number of elite ones.

Resurrecting Bloodfang as a zombie would both preserve the powerful foundation of its physical body to the greatest extent and give the Black Corpse a brother to share the burden.

Of course, raising a Black Corpse—especially if he wanted to preserve as much of Bloodfang’s original strength as possible—would definitely require a considerable investment of precious materials.

’Just think, even a young lady from a wealthy background like Amadis only has two Black Corpses under her command.’

However, if Lynch succeeded, he would gain a powerful zombie general, and his high-end combat power would take a qualitative leap.

Fortunately, Lynch still had some resources to his name.

Plus, raiding this Bloodfang camp was sure to yield a hefty reward.

However, Lynch didn’t start looting right away.

Instead, he first sent two of his militia to confiscate the Nagas’ weapons again and tie them up one by one.

Even though they had fought quite earnestly in the previous battle and were all wounded, Lynch had always believed in safety first—especially when it came to Serena, who had reached Tier Two.

If they were to suddenly cause trouble while his guard was down, it would be a nuisance.

The Nagas seemed accustomed to this. They didn’t resist, allowing the militia to take their weapons and bind their hands with ropes, linking them together in a line.

After dealing with the potential threat from the Nagas, Lynch’s mind stirred, and he issued a new command.

The next moment, the Soul Fire commanders—the Bone Mage, Bone Jade, the Fish Priest, and others—led their respective Skeleton Corps and spread out like a comb, beginning a sweeping search of the newly conquered Bloodfang camp.

The task they received was to clean up any stragglers who might have slipped through the cracks, collect all valuable materials, and find the imprisoned girls.

Meanwhile, Lynch remained mounted on Red Rabbit, with Sea Song—who had grown accustomed to leaning against his chest—and began to patrol the camp. Surrounded by Bone Shield and other elite guards, he urged the Skeletons to strip the place bare.

"SQUEAK~ GURGLE~"

A few short, miserable cries came from the entrance of a hidden burrow.

A few Skeleton Soldiers dragged the corpses of several old, weak goblin women and children out from inside and tossed them carelessly onto a nearby corpse pile.

Lynch’s gaze swept over them indifferently, his heart unstirred.

’Mercy to the enemy is cruelty to oneself, especially for a race as notorious as goblins. Wiping them out completely to prevent any future trouble is the proper way for a Necromancer.’

Soon, good news came from Bone Valor, who was in charge of searching that area of the camp.

Deep within the camp, in a dungeon enclosed by a crude wooden fence, they had found over twenty human girls.
