Chapter 203: Chapter 105: Angel’s Descent

These were Lynch’s two peerless, fierce generals—the Corpse Demon and Bloodfang.

The moment the two Purple Zombies landed, they flanked the Scarlet Harvester, charging at him from the left and right. Their ferocious aura was overwhelming, their presence immense.

Amadis’s Black Corpses may have been numerous, but compared to these two true Purple Zombie generals, their aura was as docile as a flock of lambs.

’Damn it!’

The Scarlet Harvester’s heart trembled, and he couldn’t stop himself from cursing wildly in his mind.

’Two Purple Zombies, and one of them is even Tier Four!’

’Is this the kind of army a fucking Tier Two Necromancer can field?!’

’This son of a bitch... he’s the master of all masters at playing weak!’

Against ordinary living creatures of flesh and blood, he could have put up a fight. After all, his blood Magic was highly effective against them, allowing him to absorb their blood to strengthen his attacks, replenish his energy, and weaken his opponent simultaneously.

But facing this sea of Undead Units, he was completely helpless. His blood Magic couldn’t even unleash seventy percent of its full power; it was a perfect counter.

’Run!’

The Scarlet Harvester began to flee for his life.

Fortunately, while the Purple Zombies were fierce in close combat, they weren’t fast!

His footwork was impossibly slick and graceful, like a dance king at a ball in the Imperial Capital, weaving through the chaos without a single touch.

He would have sworn he’d never moved so fast in his entire life.

However, his nightmare had only just begun. A war banner reeking of death had appeared at some point, floating right in his escape path.

The banner flared with a ghostly light, and another spatial vortex tore open.

What poured out this time wasn’t some High Tier Undead Unit, but... a sea of Skeletons.

A seemingly endless tide of Skeletons poured from the vortex. Although it was a motley crew mixed with plenty of trash-tier goblin Skeletons and Fishman Skeletons, their numbers were even greater than Amadis’s.

They quickly filled the gaps on the battlefield, further shrinking the Scarlet Harvester’s room to escape.

Among this new army of Skeletons, a squad of over twenty Skeleton Archers was particularly conspicuous. This was because their leader was a Skeleton whose bones were as white as jade, holding a massive bone bow.

It was the Tier Three Skeleton Bow and Arrow Guard—Boneyuji.

With a single fluid motion, it nocked an arrow, drew the string, and loosed a shot.

"WHOOSH—!"

A streak of pale light tore through the night, heading straight for the Scarlet Harvester’s head.

The Harvester was terrified and hastily jerked his head aside to dodge.

The arrow grazed his ear, taking a lock of his hair and a small chunk of flesh from the outer rim.

Under the effect of the Pain Curse, the agony nearly made him pass out.

But in the next instant, a primal fear shot through him, making his hair stand on end and his scalp tingle. For a moment, he even forgot the pain.

A small, delicate-looking loli emerged from the still-open spatial vortex.

She wore a black, lace-trimmed gothic dress. Her skin was as pale as porcelain, her features exquisitely delicate. Two small, sharp fangs were faintly visible at the corners of her mouth, and a pair of bat-like wings beat gently behind her, keeping her suspended in midair.

It was the little Vampire, Esther.

She looked as if she had just woken from a dream, rubbing her eyes sleepily. But when she saw the Scarlet Harvester nearby, a red glint instantly flared in her eyes, and her little face lit up with excitement.

"Hee hee~" she cooed, and with a flap of her wings, she shot forward, leaving an afterimage in her wake.

"A Vampire!? No... that’s not right! This aura... it’s a high-ranking bloodline!!"

The Scarlet Harvester’s pupils shrank to pinpoints. A fear originating from the depths of his own bloodline made his entire body tremble uncontrollably.

His blood Magic was derived from the Blood Race, and he himself possessed a portion of their bloodline.

Because of this, he was exceptionally sensitive to the aura of the Blood Race.

He wasn’t afraid of ordinary Vampires in the slightest; he could even use his blood Magic to counter them.

But this little loli Vampire... she made his very soul quiver in fear.

This was the absolute suppression of a superior bloodline.

He instinctively tried to turn and run.

However, he was already weakened by two Curses, and now the suppression of her bloodline was added on top of that. The moment he tried to run, he stumbled violently.

In the next instant, the incredibly fast Esther had already flashed behind him. Her slender, pale hands wrapped around him in a death grip, and then, with a fierce bite, she sank her teeth into his neck.

"NO—!"

The Scarlet Harvester let out a desperate roar, feeling his life force draining away with his gushing blood.

’Am I going to die?’

’No, I can’t die!’

’There’s still so much I haven’t done! I still have scores to settle!’

’I still have one last trick up my sleeve.’

Madness filled the Scarlet Harvester’s eyes as he burned all the blood-red Mana in his body.

"Bloodmist—Burst~"

He roared out a few broken syllables.

"BANG~"

With a muffled bang, his body suddenly exploded.

But it wasn’t the gruesome scene of flying flesh and gore one might expect. Instead, he simply transformed into a roiling, surging cloud of blood mist.

This was the Scarlet Harvester’s life-saving Magic: [Bloodmist Form].

Once cast, this spell transformed him into a near-incorporeal state of blood mist. In this form, he was not only immune to most physical attacks and some magical damage, but he could also drift and move at incredible speed, making it an excellent means of escape.

The price, however, was steep. He had to burn more than half of his life force to cast it. Even if he managed to escape, the consequences would be severe. At best, he would be left clinging to life on the brink of death. At worst, he would be gone completely, reduced to a mindless pool of tainted blood.
