* YAWN *
Ryder stretched as he sat up the warm sun obstructing his vision, his memory darted back to the previous day and the calamity that had befallen humanity his mind shivered as he reminded himself that this world would never remain the same.
He got up and stretched himself before commit various exercises, He didn’t notice Astarte who’s position gave out the fact that she had sat besides him through out the night.
Suddenly a block fell out the the wall catching both Ryder and Astarte’s attention, Ryder slowly walked towards the debris and picked it up.
* BOOM *
He was sent flying to the ground by a powerful force, * RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE!!! *, The gymnasium shook violently enlightening the occupants that another calamity has befallen them.
Ryder found his feet and staggered to the door trying to equilibrize himself, the cement roof was crumbling to the ground, " What the fuck is going on " he shouted to himself as he opened the door and managed to pull himself out.
The rumbling intensified as objects bounced on each other, the survivors were thrown into pure atrabiliousness, as the feeling of death loomed over them even the strongest.
While the leading survivors were trying to help others who were about to get crushed by large falling debris Ryder staggered out of the small lobby the walls and ceilings falling behind him as the quake intensified every second.
He walked to the entrance opened it and got out, the world was in utter chaos the university was crumbling to the ground bit by bit, buildings after buildings crumbled and he could see from a distance survivors falling out of their hiding places screaming frighteningly.
Another force swept through the earth causing Ryder to be launched to the metal door of the gymnasium, he slid to the ground bleeding at the back of his head, yet another force came stronger and more deadly, so powerful that if Ryder had been a stat weaker he would have exploded.
The gymnasium was wrecked beyond repair, but that wasn’t even the main problem, first when the zombie apocalypse began there was the appearance of ever present second grey moon but lower than the moon floated a large violently swirling vortex he subconsciously stood and walked meters away from the gymnasium.
" Something has happened... " Astarte said stepping back, Ryder casted a weary gaze at her before turning to look at the vortex, for minutes he stood still observing the vortex the forceful push had subsided leaving him standing, suddenly he opened his inventory and selected a revolver.
The Lugen super Raptor. 45 caster revolver was grasped tightly in Ryder hands, " Ryder watch out " Astarte warning simultaneously as he quickly turned to his left and released a shot at the forehead of a walker.

Immediately after this action he took to his heels with Astarte flying besides him, the broken down walls were slowly rising back to the original position but slowly and they will be all dead before it got fixed.
By the time he could reach the entrance of the building a multitude of hundred plus zombies different in varieties but mostly walkers, runners and crawlers were behind him, he had to think, with the current condition of the gymnasium if he ran into it with the zombies after him they would be able to amount enough force to bring the doors down.
His raptor revolver held fifty bullets in total, five every round, it was survive or die..., but wait isn’t he a phoenix that could regenerate if he got bitten, well Astarte explained that he could survive anything except the zombies virus once it got into his bloodstream it was his omega and the alpha of a much stronger enemy that would cause so much destruction that couldn’t be possibly be atoned for.
Well couldn’t he resurrect if he died, a lost consciousness means no resurrection and that was humongous disappointment he was as weak as ordinary humans infront of this undead creatures, he turned around and fired accurate shots at the first zombies causing the following to stumble a little.
This gave Ryder enough time to reload and send the next five accurately to hell, with the help of his marksmanship he would hit anything he wanted to hit with his eyes closed.
The gymnasium stood about thirty kilometers away from the main studying facilities and had three pathways, the one on the left lead to the conservatory, the right lead to the cafeteria and forward was the learning facility.
Apart from broad spaces for walking the rest of the school’s land were adorned with trees and scenic plants giving the school a beautiful vibe with was throw into damnation at the rise of this apocalyptic era.
Zombies flooded the left right and center after acknowledging the sound of gunshots, even those that were in the neatly trimmed bushes bored at the fact of the absence of unsheltered humans jumped out of their hiding places between the trees.
Ryder was overwhelmed but somewhat glad that their attention was on him and not his place of refuge, shots after shots were fired with Ryder at the lose end of the stick but still waxing strong, well that ended when he dropped the last box of bullets.
A zombie dived him to the ground and attempted to sink it’s rotten teeth into his skin when it froze blue, everything went silent only the chilled breeze of winter element wisp covered the hemisphere.
’ The ice queen ’ Ryder thought immediately breaking free from the frozen zombie’s grasp breaking it in the process, " You nearly got yourself killed " Beatrix said behind him, " And you got us both dead " he remarked shoving her to the side as a zombie crossed where she formally stood.
Every zombie around a fifty meter radius were turned into frozen sculptures of elegance that was soon destroyed was more zombies crashed into them destroying it.
Ryder and Beatrix ran towards the gymnasium but got cut of by some mutated insects coming from the conservatory, the only way was the cafeteria, they could out run zombies but not mutated creatures.
They took the right path and ran full speed to the cafeteria almost reaching it in seconds, but reconsidered due to the involvement of nearly a thousand zombies encircling the cafeteria.
This was a really big problem, they was no way forward not backwards. but wait there was the workshop near the cafeteria with little to no zombies as they wandered away, this meant no human was here.
They diverted to the path leading to the workshop, few zombies were either standing or walking sluggishly about and were quickly dispatched by Beatrix’s ruthless icicles.
Out of nowhere a giant spider pounced on them spitting raw greenish acid on them, luckily Beatrix’s reacted in time creating a huge barrier that covered the six meter space between them and the spider, using that opportunity they dashed into the workshop but a shockwave sequeled that action pushing Ryder down just for Beatrix to use him as a cushion.
