Chapter 33: Surrounded 2
A sharp sting stabbed into his shoulders. Before he could tell what happened to him, he was already being lifted into the air and slamed to the ground.
Laying supine on the newly formed crater, Marcus groaned, forcing himself to rise. However he back shuddered, his bones aches from the slam and worst of all, his head rung with high vibrations.
Screaming inaudibly for a few moments, he couldn’t bear the sound anymore and BAM! He clasped both ears with every single drop of strength he had.
Doing this, the vibrations reduce a little. But Marcus couldn’t feel it as adrenaline hid his pain.
Again and again, he clasped his ears. Slowly the stream of blood caused by the owl’s earlier screech became a downpour. With each hit the sound reduced and Marcus’s entire hearing system was becoming a mess.
With one final clasp, a boom echoed directly in his ears and everything went silent for the second time. Slowly he opened his eyes, his breath calming down.
Marcus stared at the silhouette of the moon beyond the clouds and then he rose. The surface below him was cracked by his body, now he would repay the dept.

Activating both his main abilities, he felt his mind becoming clearer and his body stronger. The pain dulled, not full gone, but enough for he to keep up.
He leaped towards the dark silhouettes of purple light, and massive shadow. As he go closer he stretched his hand, summoning his dagger and at that moment, the clouds cleared.
The silver light illuminated the roof top and all there was, was chaos. Most of his teammates were on the ground bleeding out with severe injuries. Martha had been knocked out, Obi clutching his bleeding calf.
Zendaya was without a scar thanks to her ability and Allen was too quick to permanently invalidate. The owl creature itself wasn’t very good, chunks of its feathers were gone in some areas and it’s body was constantly dripping blood.
Regularly it took to the sky and flew back down to grab its target but now it just flew, three meters of the roof circling them. ’Slower, I have to take this opportunity and end this.’
Holding his dagger by the tip, Marcus hurdled it at the owl and officially re-entered the battle. The dagger flew like a boomerang, curving and spinning into a shimmer of light.
Slicing the tip of the owl’s outstretched wing, Marcus saw a counter at the corner of his eyes increase.

" I would skin you alive you worthless pile of feathers." Catching his blade, Marcus skillfully rotated it between his fingers and rushed closer to the bird.
Reaching Allen in moments Marcus held him by the shoulder, he pointed to himself and the bird, then pointed to Allen and his back. Allen looked confused for a moment before understand what Marcus meant.
Leaving the boy, Marcus ran up to the owl and threw his dagger directly at its abdomen. Seeing this the owl took to the skys. Knowing it would return, Marcus repeated his sign message to Zendaya.
She looked confused even after he repeated it for the fourth time. Trying to explain for the fifth time, the Owl slammed directly Marcus, its rock hard skull smashing into his left arm.
Marcus was almost launched off the roof, if he didn’t call on his dagger on time to slow down his momentum, he would have been plummeting down a fifteen meter height.
Sinking his dagger into the concrete he instantly lost all momentum and dropped. However the owl had been following him ever since, it picked him by the neck and flinged him into the sky.
"Woah!!!" He screamed as he tried stabilizimg himself mid air. By the time he did he was above the clouds and staring at the serene moon. "Now drop."
With gravity now acting on his body, be began his descent but was instantly meet with annoyed gaze of the owl. Marcus was taken aback by the true sight of the owl.
It’s most dominant feature being it’s sleek jet black feathers, which gave it its soundless and stealthly flight.
Landing on an outstretched wing, Marcus pushed himself away from the owl, breaking the wing while continuing his free fall. Dropping back first, he was able to see the owl come for him in blind rage.
Spinning his body, he directed his weight and tilted his fall a bit, not noticeable but enough for the owl to completely miss him. And it did as it was free falling as well but with a little more control.
"Four seconds till I hit the ground, either it dies, I die. Or we both die." Holding his dagger by the tip, he tossed it and the owl bellow him and followed up with a punch carrying most of his strength behind it.
The fall of the owl increased tremendously, however it was able to muster enough strength to swerve out of the way and avoid Marcus next punch.
Now it had Marcus on the same level as it was. It glided towards him with its talons glimmering under moonlight. Sinking its inborn blades into Marcus’s side, the boy let out a scream as he called back his dagger.
It was barely in his hands when he threw it back at the owl, and it took off half it’s skull. Painstakingly he dragged out the owl’s claw, together with pieces of flesh and about a little of his blood.
Although extremely hard, he climbed the owl’s body and flipped to serve as his cushion, his hands holding tightly on the partly dead owl’s wings.
"Time’s..." They both crashed to the ground with a boom and Marcus was flung to the edge of the roof top. In his hands we’re both wings of the owl.
Marcus’s face was contorted in pain and he rolled side by side. He didn’t notice the owl’s wings vanish into his grasp. What he did notice moments later was Zendaya wrapping his sides with her shirt.
"Allison, get over here his bleeding out." She yelled, a girl who was tending to Gabriel quickly got up and sprinted to them. Allison looked at him, years streaming down her petite face.
Marcus however had stopped rolling because the pain was already subsiding. He felt his body growing stronger, everything which made him peak human was improving trifold.
His strength, speed, agility, durability, regeneration, perception, etc was breaking into the superhuman.

Letting out a final scream Marcus opened his eyes. His body rapidly healing itself, although fast, it could take weeks, probably months to heal some injuries.
Heaving a sigh, he sat up and hugged Allison, "It’s already Alli, I am fine, we all are." He said breaking from the hug and cupping her reddened face.
"..." Allison said but Marcus face immediately turned pale. He looked at Zendaya, "What’s wrong." She said with a concerned expression then Marcus dropped the bomb.
"I can’t hear a word you say."
Allison immediately been checking his ears and when she did, she burst into a second round of tears falling on Marcus chest. Despair clutched at his heart, however he couldn’t let that slow him down.
Rising from Allison’s grip he began walking to the bulkhead of the mall. He stopped and turned to girls and Allen who was nursing his bruises. "Take care of yourselves, I am going to get some painkillers.".
Hearing this the girls called out to him, but he couldn’t hear them. Strangely no one tried to stop him, either because they knew he would never listen. Or they knew medical supplies was thier only hope of seeing the next day.
"His is dieing for sure." Allen sighed.
Stunned by the pain, Martha hurdled a javelin at it striking the chest cleanly, the rest saw the opportunity to go for thier attacks. But the owl raised it’s head and let out a horrifying screech.
Every one present shook violently, dropping to the ground in painful spasms. Marcus dropped to his knees and palms retching blood. His nose and ears were bleeding and the only thing he could hear was pure static.
That was only the beginning
