Chapter 680: Chapter 680: Mix-up

Saturday, after a week of elementary school life, Candy was slowly getting used to this routine.

Sure enough, just as Mo Jingchun came back from his morning run, he saw Candy running down from upstairs with her school bag in hand.

Under Mo Jingchun’s bewildered gaze, Candy casually threw the bag onto the sofa and headed straight for the kitchen.

Where’s my sister? Where’s my breakfast? Am I going to school hungry today?

Mo Jingchun, wiping sweat with a napkin, walked into the kitchen and seeing Candy standing there dumbfounded, said, "It’s Saturday today, why are you running downstairs with your school bag?"

"The parents’ group didn’t say anything about extra classes today."

"And by the way, I didn’t even wake you up, how come you’re awake?"

Candy turned around, staring wide-eyed at her brother with three big question marks above his head, and asked somewhat uncertainly:

"Today is Saturday."

"Uh-huh."

"So no school?"

"Uh-huh."

Mo Jingchun looked curiously at his sister, probably still half-asleep, and grinned: "You weren’t planning to eat breakfast and go to school, were you?"

"Hahaha."

Seeing her brother laughing at her, Candy, with a dark face, pushed her brother blocking the door and angrily stomped back upstairs with her school bag.

"No one told me."

Her brother’s laughter echoed behind her again.

"Hahaha, you knew in kindergarten that you didn’t have school on weekends, how come you forgot in elementary school?"

Candy ignored her brother’s tickled laughter, went back to her bedroom, and seeing Bun still sleeping in bed, crawled back under the covers.

Come to think of it, her sister’s door was still closed, which means her sister hadn’t gotten up.

Her brother didn’t wake her either, which means she could continue sleeping.

The most crucial part is, even Bun is still asleep, he knows there’s no need to go out today!!!

The more she thought about it, the more annoyed she got, so Candy simply snatched the quilt and covered her head.

Suddenly deprived of the quilt, Bun opened his eyes, looked, shuffled his little paws, and burrowed back under the covers.

Half-asleep, Candy fell asleep again.

Past noon, Zhou Yaling came in with a bowl of noodles, pushing open the door to Candy’s bedroom.

She pulled open the curtains, letting sunlight flood the pink bedroom instantly.

"Lazybones, time to get up."

With that, Zhou Yaling slurped a mouthful of delicious noodle broth.

"Hey, get up quickly, or else your brother will come upstairs with a stick."

Rubbing her eyes, Candy begrudgingly popped her head out from under the covers.

Seeing her sister slurping noodles, Candy pursed her lips and said, "Sis, I finally understand why you like to sleep in."

"Because it’s so exhausting."

With that, Candy sighed, weakly tossing aside the quilt.

"Elementary school and kindergarten are poles apart, so tiring."

Zhou Yaling shrugged it off with a slight smile; this was just the beginning, high school was still far away.

If there was one thing Zhou Yaling admired, it was those who chose to repeat grades, carrying pressure incomparable to the regular seniors.

"I heard from big brother that you sleepwalked this morning?"

Hearing this, Candy rolled her eyes, jumped out of bed, and put on her school uniform jacket.

"Sleepwalk? No one told me there was no school today. I woke up a bit dazed, looked at the time, and it was time to get up, so I did."

"Who knew it’d be a big misunderstanding."

Zhou Yaling chuckled, not teasing Candy further.

Most students have experienced this; it was just surprising Candy had developed a biological clock after just a week of primary school, waking up on her own.

A bit muddled, forgetting it was Saturday was quite normal.

In the future, when Candy reached high school, counting days on her fingers, she surely wouldn’t make such a simple mistake.

At Huo County High School, they generally had one day and a half off per month; in such circumstances, most students chose to catch up on sleep during this rare break.

Waking up early? Not a chance. Even the biological clock wouldn’t work.

Slurping noodles, Candy asked, "Where’s my brother?"

Zhou Yaling gestured with her eyes outside the door, saying, "Where else could he be, tending to his flowers and plants in the yard."

Such a good vegetable garden, turned into a flower bed by her brother.

Just then, Mo Jingchun walked in holding a watering can.

"I heard everything just now."

"All I did was pull a few of your green onions, no need to hold a grudge for so long, right?"

Grinning, Mo Jingchun put the watering can in the storage room, only to be met with Zhou Yaling’s huge eye-roll when he emerged.

"Awooo~"

Suddenly, Little Grey ran in miserably with its tail between its legs.

"Awooo~"

The three of them looked puzzled as Little Grey persistently pawed at its nose.

"What’s up with this dog?"

Mo Jingchun raised an eyebrow, saying, "How should I know? It was fine in the yard just now."

Little Grey kept whining, and the three couldn’t figure out what had happened. There wasn’t a single wound, and they didn’t know why it was whining.

"Wow, Little Grey’s nose looks a bit big today."

As Candy spoke, Mo Jingchun and Zhou Yaling’s gazes turned to Little Grey’s nose that it was constantly pawing at.

Visibly, a part of the dog’s nose was swollen.

Candy was so amazed her mouth could fit an egg!

"Brother, turns out you can gain weight like this!"

Mo Jingchun’s mouth twitched; it was obvious Little Grey was stung by a bee which caused the swelling, but Candy made it sound like gaining weight.

"Zero, what happened, how did it get stung by a bee out of nowhere?"

Zero didn’t answer, instead silently turned on the TV and played the backyard surveillance footage from a minute ago.

In the footage, after Mo Jingchun left, Little Grey started nibbling on flower petals.

Coincidentally, some bees flew over at that moment to gather nectar.

A showdown was imminent, and evidently, Little Grey lost, easily subdued by a bee.

In the grand scheme, Little Grey didn’t lose much; the swelling would subside in a few days, but the bee was likely bedridden now without a stinger.

No longer having its stinger, the bee obviously wouldn’t survive.

Candy distastefully pushed the dog’s head aside, scolding, "Serves you right for being nosy, got what you deserved this time, didn’t you."

"Even I don’t dare mess with bees, and here you go, sniffing with your dog nose."

"Good thing it wasn’t a hornet, or else I’d have reluctantly shed a few tears for you."

Watching Candy lecturing Little Grey, Mo Jingchun chuckled inwardly.

Saying she’d reluctantly shed a few tears, when really, Candy would be the one crying the hardest if something happened to Little Grey or Bun one day.
