Chapter 165: Chapter 165: I’m Really Afraid You’ll Eat Yourself to Death

But before he could make a move, someone else charged at him.

"You’re just one of Felix Foley’s dogs! And you want to be the boss? Dream on! Anyone could be the boss, but it’ll never be you!"

"Bullshit! Today, I’ll show you what I’m capable of!"

"Then show me! I’d love to see what you’ve got!"

By the time Sierra Sullivan realized something was wrong, the men had already descended into a brawl.

Watching the scene, she instinctively furrowed her brow, thinking they were trying to pull some trick, maybe create a chance to escape.

But she soon realized she was overthinking it.

These people were genuinely attacking each other, not just putting on an act.

Everyone was using their full strength, as if they couldn’t wait to kill each other.

Of course, some succeeded, and some didn’t.

Watching the chaotic mess, Sierra Sullivan grew frustrated.

Their fighting was endless, but Nathan Thorne’s condition couldn’t wait any longer.

She could wait, but Nathan Thorne couldn’t!

With that thought, a murderous aura enveloped her. She no longer hesitated. Whoever struck the most viciously, she would lend them a hand.

Seeing Sierra Sullivan’s actions, Jayce almost laughed but held it back. He even started doing the same thing.

With their "help," it didn’t take long for everyone to be lying on the ground, completely still.

All dead.

Every last one of them.

Without any further hesitation, Sierra Sullivan and Jayce ran over to Nathan Thorne.

"Nathan Thorne, how are you?" Sierra Sullivan asked anxiously.

As expected, there was no response.

"Sierra, don’t worry just yet," Jayce said softly. "Look at Nathan Thorne’s face. Doesn’t he look much better than before?"

Although anxious, Sierra Sullivan hadn’t completely lost her head.

Hearing Jayce say this, she took a closer look.

And upon looking, she realized it really was true!

Compared to before, Nathan Thorne’s complexion was much better. At least it was no longer a deathly gray!

’Does this mean... Nathan Thorne has pulled through?’

"So..." Sierra Sullivan hesitated. "Should we wait here and see how things go?"

Jayce nodded. "That’s what I was thinking. Even if we took him back to the base right now, it would take several hours, and we could run into all sorts of trouble on the way. He has a Healing Ability himself, so he might be able to self-heal. Since his condition is already improving, it’s better to stay here and monitor the situation."

Jayce’s explanation sounded perfectly reasonable.

But in reality, it all boiled down to one thing: taking a gamble.

But with any gamble, you can win or you can lose.

Winning, of course, would mean a happy ending for everyone.

But if they lost...

Sierra Sullivan didn’t let herself think about it any further.

No one wanted to lose.

’I hope we don’t lose.’

Dominic Crawford walked over and stared at Nathan Thorne. "His color looks okay. Maybe he’ll wake up soon."

Hearing Dominic Crawford’s words, Sierra Sullivan couldn’t help but chuckle.

’How could he possibly wake up that quickly?’

Just as she was thinking this, she heard Dominic Crawford cry out in alarm.

"Holy crap! He’s really awake!"

’Really awake?’

Sierra Sullivan was in disbelief, but she instinctively looked toward Nathan Thorne.

As she did, her gaze met Nathan Thorne’s confused eyes.

"Sierra Sullivan? Jayce?" Nathan Thorne was also completely bewildered. "Did you guys die too?"

Sierra Sullivan was speechless. "..."

The man was awake, but his brain clearly hadn’t caught up yet.

’Just listen to the nonsense he’s spouting!’

’What does he mean, "did we die too"?’

’Did it not occur to him that maybe he hadn’t died at all?’

Jayce slapped Nathan Thorne hard on the shoulder. "We’re not dead, and you’re alive and well! Don’t say things like that ever again!"

Nathan Thorne grimaced in pain but wasn’t the least bit angry.

Not only was he not angry, he was actually incredibly excited.

"Not dead? I’m really not dead! This is... this is great!"

Before, he had felt his eyelids getting heavier and his body growing colder, until he finally lost consciousness completely.

He thought he was a goner for sure this time.

’Who would have thought!’

Against all odds, he had woken up!

Knowing he had just come back from the brink of death, Sierra Sullivan couldn’t be bothered to argue with him. "How are you feeling now?"

Nathan Thorne took a moment to assess himself. "I feel... to be honest, I don’t feel much of anything. Just a little hungry."

’What a foodie!’

He just survived a brush with death, and forget about any sense of relief—the first thing he says is that he’s hungry!

’But on second thought, having an appetite is a blessing!’

’As long as he can eat, it means he’s mostly recovered!’

Thinking this, Sierra Sullivan smiled. "Hungry is easy to solve. What do you want to eat?"

Whatever he wanted, she had it.

Nathan Thorne grinned. "I’m not picky! I’ll eat whatever you give me! Anything you’ve got!"

Hearing this, Sierra Sullivan didn’t ask again. She pulled a platter of steaming hot meat buns, a tureen of soup, and a fruit platter from her space.

"Eat up!"

Nathan Thorne’s eyes lit up as he stared at the food.

"Sierra Sullivan! You’re the best! Having you around is Jayce’s good fortune, and mine too!"

Jayce slapped Nathan Thorne’s shoulder hard again. "Just eat! Can’t all this food shut you up?"

"It can!" Nathan Thorne nodded vigorously. "It absolutely can!"

For the next while, Nathan Thorne stopped talking and focused solely on chowing down.

Each meat bun was bigger than his fist and incredibly dense.

A normal person would be full after just one of these buns.

Someone with a large appetite might manage two.

But right now, Nathan Thorne was like a competitive eater. His stomach was a bottomless pit that couldn’t be filled, no matter how much food he stuffed into it.

As for the dead bodies in the room and the lingering smell of blood in the air, those things weren’t even on Nathan Thorne’s radar.

Nothing was more important than eating!

At that moment, he felt like he was starving to death, and only by constantly stuffing food into his mouth could he alleviate the feeling.

Before long, the buns, the soup, and the fruit platter were all completely gone.

If she hadn’t seen it with her own eyes, Sierra Sullivan would have thought Nathan Thorne had hidden the food somewhere.

That was ten whole meat buns!

It wasn’t that she was upset about the buns; she was mainly afraid Nathan Thorne would eat himself to death!

Nathan Thorne rubbed his stomach, then looked over at Sierra Sullivan with pleading eyes. "Sierra Sullivan, is there any more?"

Sierra Sullivan: "???"

’Is there more?’

She had more, plenty more, as much as he could ever want, but could Nathan Thorne really eat that much?

"Maybe you should take a break before eating more," Sierra Sullivan suggested sincerely. "I’m genuinely worried you’re going to burst."
