Chapter 175: Behind The Scenes
"Man, my sisters are pissed."
It was Sunday morning and the sun was shining bright in a yellow glow, making the grass and plants in the surroundings very vibrant.
Glancing at his phone, Theo grimaced upon seeing the text messages from his three little sisters, walking towards the green truck as Miles placed a comforting hand on his shoulder while Oliver and Simon laughed.
Yes, they were preparing to leave; the sleepover had come to an end.
Holding a sealed disposable bag in which he kept his blood-stained shirt and jacket, Miles gave the house a quick glance, feeling a bit reluctant as he recalled the events of these past twenty-four hours here.
For Theo, Oliver, and Simon, Miles thought it would have been a great brotherly time at best, but when accounting for his ordeal, he had an epic, almost legendary time fucking his best friend’s older sister. Especially last night, the last few fast-paced strokes he delivered became a core memory after Delaney passed out from pleasure.
Even this morning, she was still in her room and didn’t see them off because she was yet to recover.
’Well, it’s from one pussy to multiple pussies. She’ll probably find me when she needs it.’ Thinking about the fact that she would never return to being a lesbian, loyal to just his dick, Miles withdrew the reluctance in his heart and entered the vehicle.
Somewhere else.
In a dark room with closed curtains that shrouded the space from the sunlight.
Ding!
Following the notification sound, a phone screen lit up, illuminating a familiar face in the darkness with a tense expression. Chris.
Hurriedly swiping up the lock, Chris’ pupils fidgeted across the screen, darting wildly as he read the clearest news report involving crimes in the city.
Yet just like yesterday, there was no report about people being caught and the dead body of a high school youth, precisely Miles’.
"Fuck."
Chris cursed and slammed the phone against his bed, not doubting that Miles was dead but worried about the men that were captured after killing Miles and the police’s silence over this.
Because of this, he stayed indoors at home fearing that he was on the police wanted list and hid in the basement.
He didn’t share what transpired on the phone with Ben and Tyler, hoping to use them as bait if the police were onto him. However, after several calls at the end of the previous day, he realized the two were living much better than him and chose to leave the basement.
That person also called, asking if he received a confirmation of the deal done.
Lying with a racing heartbeat, he told the person that he received the call and those hired to kill Miles said they had a bit of a problem feeding Miles’ body to alligators.
At this moment, pondering his life in silence, Chris rubbed his face and exhaled.
"Perhaps they never got caught to begin with or probably escaped.."
Chris muttered, feeling vexed, and stood up from the bed.
In a dimly lit underground parking lot.
Vrooooom!
A black Chevrolet Camaro pulled in and parked. Following the click of doors being opened, two figures calmly stepped outside of it as they gave the surroundings a quick scan and puffed the thick blunt in their hands.
"Smoke, got any news on Ace?"
The man to the right suddenly said, swaggering as he walked forward.
"Naaah. It’s the usual routine dawg. Lay low after the kill. He’s probably fucking some bitches with his boys right now. It’s all good."
The other, referred to as Smoke, skillfully puffed his blunt, creating an interesting pattern with the smoke.
"True. Just thought to ask since it feels a little strange. He didn’t report."
Placing the blunt between his lips, the man said.
"Relax Big D. Besides, from what I have heard, the target was a high school kid. What a cruel world for the kid."
Smoke said, leaving Big D quite astonished, which was rare for a hardened gangster like him.
"A high school kid? Since when did we start meddling in such affairs?"
Big D frowned, halting the blunt.
"Don’t think about it blud. From what I know, the person who put the hit has a solid connection and paid a huge sum. Only the boss has a clue of the person’s identity too."
Hearing the boss was involved, Big D could only dismiss how he felt.
Dominic City Police Department. Captain’s Office.
"Sir, we’ve combed through the sightings of these individuals in the past five days and I think we’ve gotten a lead on what we are after. It’s them."
The Lieutenant reported, submitting a series of files on the Captain’s desk.
Whilst Natalie Voss, sitting with her back turned to the Lieutenant, seemed to freeze by the term ’them’ and quickly turned her chair.
"Them?" She asked again for confirmation and the Lieutenant nodded, looking like he had something to say.
"Go on."
"Sir, after an extensive search, we discovered that the only active location on that night is a high school birthday party and after checking the house registration in the surrounding one kilometer, there is no family with a military personnel or linked to the police. They are mostly high-profile figures and not in the city at that moment. So an estimation of the target failed."
Listening to the lieutenant’s report, Natalie squinted her eyes.
"So what are you saying?"
"I mean, what if it’s one of the parents of those at the birthday party? They came to pick up or drive their child to the birthday party?"
Silence fell and Natalie furrowed her brows with utmost seriousness.
"You kinda make sense, Lieutenant. But knowing teens nowadays, do you think they’ll allow their parents to babysit them and risk being laughed at for being babysat to a party?"
The lieutenant froze, seemingly recalling his own daughter.
Natalie shook her head and spoke up.
"You can personally check in with the parents yourself since your oldest daughter also attends the school. And make sure not to attract any form of suspicion or seem weird ."
