Chapter 34: More Profit
Liam thought for a moment before finally walking over to Qian Yingyue’s desk.
The woman was too focused—she didn’t even notice him until a few seconds later.
Most international students were like this, especially those from China. They were obsessed with studying and didn’t care about anything else.
There was no concept of "having fun" in their lives.
Even if some were influenced by Western lifestyles, it wasn’t excessive—and Qian Yingyue was someone who wasn’t influenced at all.
"What is it?" she asked.
Liam couldn’t hide his awkwardness.
"Can I ask for your help?" he said.
"Help?" Qian Yingyue frowned slightly, confused.
"I actually forgot about my assignment..." Liam chose to be honest. "I only finished a quarter of it, then stopped for three days, and now I’ve forgotten everything."
Hearing that, her frown deepened.
"I heard you sell your personal research, so I want to buy it..." Liam continued, stating his purpose.
After hearing that, Qian Yingyue didn’t show much expression, only nodding.
"Five hundred dollars," she said.
Liam immediately took out $500 in cash and placed it on her desk.
"You must be making a lot of money from this. No need to show it to me—just keep it and submit it to Professor Diaz later," he said.
"Alright," she replied simply, putting the money into her bag without caring about Liam’s comment.
Then she returned to reading.
Liam walked away, letting out a breath.
If he didn’t have money, expenses like this would drive him crazy.
The class started to fill up as he returned to his seat.
Vivian came in with Alex Gonzalez, looking closer than usual.
Maybe failing to approach Luna made him settle for Vivian instead.
"Everyone, I have good news for you all..." Vivian suddenly spoke.
The class became slightly surprised.
"What is it, Vivian?" someone asked.
"Tomorrow is Alex’s birthday, and tonight he’s hosting a pool party. He’ll treat anyone who wants to come."
"Really?" Many students became excited.
Most of them liked parties—but for someone like Qian Yingyue, she didn’t care at all.
"Yes, just come. I’ll send the address in the group. If you have friends from other faculties, invite them too. Even if Alex isn’t as rich as certain people, he’s not stingy when it comes to everyone’s enjoyment..." Vivian said.
"We’ll definitely come..." several groups nodded, chuckling.
They clearly understood that Vivian was indirectly mocking Liam.
Liam had spent a lot on Professor John’s gift and even sent a lion gift to Professor Diaz—but to most students, that only showed he had money.
If he didn’t host a party for fellow students, he would still be seen as stingy.
Of course, Liam didn’t care about such remarks.
The lecturer arrived, and Liam listened to the lesson seriously until it ended.
After that, he opened Dex to check MindChain’s price.
New ATH — 0.0025 (2.5 Million Market Cap).
It had risen even further.
And there was a reason.
Two out of the three meme coins Liam picked had already reached their targets. Only one remained, with a target of 2 million market cap, and it hadn’t moved much yet.
Meanwhile, the developer wallet balance had already reached $130,000.
Liam checked Bitcoin again—and this time his eyes lit up.
(9–10 AM)
(Current Price: 77,782.99)
(Highest Price: 79,337.64) +2%
(Lowest Price: 76,926.21) -1.1%
This was what he liked—big movement.
He didn’t know which would come first, up or down.
But one thing was clear—there hadn’t been any major movement since 9 AM. That meant it was about to start.
Since he wanted to stay in class, he decided to wait.
Wait until it reached either the highest or lowest point—so he could maximize profit.
Meaning 2% plus 1.1%.
The price began to rise slowly first.
Buy volume looked strong.
It didn’t take long before it approached the 2% mark.
Liam didn’t wait anymore.
He opened a $100,000 short position using the developer wallet, and another $200,000 using his personal funds.
As long as he was patient in monitoring, this was what he would gain.
Not long after he entered, the price began to drop sharply—
Going against the expectations of others who thought Bitcoin would surge.
Every minute, it dropped around 0.30%.
When it returned to the original price, his short was already up 200% profit—and it didn’t stop there.
Meanwhile, MindChain was still holding at 0.0025, but Liam knew that after this massive profit, it would truly explode.
"Ohhh, shit..."
Jack suddenly shouted from his seat, staring at Liam in disbelief.
He had been silent earlier, busy texting, and only now checked MindChain again.
The result completely exceeded his wildest expectations.
Liam gave him a look to stay quiet.
Jack immediately shut up, staring at his phone without blinking.
Bitcoin kept falling.
MindChain’s profit kept increasing.
That $100,000 was getting closer to $400,000.
Jack started breathing heavily.
Anyone watching would probably feel the same—after all, $150,000 would be distributed.
When it hit the target, the position closed with a net profit of $300,000.
Half of it was instantly distributed.
Jack, holding 10% of the supply, received a huge amount.
And with the current market cap, the value of his coins had skyrocketed as well.
He stood up, walked over, sat beside Liam, and asked in a low voice,
"Tell me... is this real? Am I rich now?"
"Maybe it’s just a dream. Your miserable life will return when you wake up," Liam replied with a chuckle.
He stood up and left, suddenly wanting some iced milk coffee.
His money had increased again.
After all, he had also used $200,000 of his personal funds.
In total, Liam’s wealth had already surpassed $3 million, not including assets like MindChain.
Someone could work their entire life—without eating or drinking—and still not earn that much.
And he knew that in a developing country,
$3 million was already enough to be considered extremely wealthy.
He couldn’t help but start thinking about what he should use this money for.
