Chapter 420: Chapter 241: Reunion with Taiheng (Part 2)

The man was caught in the chaos of the Sword Qi, flailing his arms; with a pivot of the sword’s edge, he barely evaded the Sword Momentum and hurriedly executed a roll in mid-air. Then, with a point of his sword, touched the Sword Qi and used the resulting recoil force to shift his position.

However, he underestimated the power of the recoil, slamming himself hard against a tree trunk and spitting out a mouthful of blood upon landing.

Trying to dodge the "Moonlight as a Sword," he almost ended up killing himself instead.

"Impressive!!"

Another voice sounded; several figures appeared, slipping past the "Moonlight as a Sword" and drawing closer.

Chu Qing frowned slightly and unleashed a powerful palm strike.

Before the figures could get close, they were swept away by the Palm Force mixed with Dragon Roar, defensively holding their swords horizontally across their chests, pushed back by the violent gust.

One of them lost his balance and exclaimed "Ouch!" tumbling to the ground, limbs askew.

The two beside him saw this and, while retreating, reached out to grab him.

The good news is they didn’t fall over together... the bad news is they dragged the person backward, causing his legs to scurry:

"Let go of me, let go of me... the ground is cold... ouch, there’s a rock!"

Chu Qing and Wu Qianhuan exchanged glances, Wu Qianhuan looking bewildered, unsure where this group of jokesters came from.

But Chu Qing recognized their Martial Arts, feeling even more confused... in his impression, this sect wasn’t supposed to be like this.

Seeing them steady themselves with hesitant eyes.

Chu Qing stepped forward, clasping his hands:

"May I ask, are you from the Taiheng Sect?"

"Indeed!"

An older-looking woman among them spun her long sword:

"Senior disciple of Zhou Wenmiao from Taiheng Sect, Shan Lan!

"Your Palm Technique... are you perhaps the Mad Saber third young master?"

Chu Qing slightly nodded, admitting his identity:

"Indeed, it’s me."

Shan Lan froze, glancing at the surrounding junior brothers and sisters; they all exchanged looks and then lowered their heads in silence...

Shan Lan gritted her teeth secretly, forcing a laugh:

"You see how things got twisted... it’s all just a misunderstanding.

"There’s a demon lurking in this forest; we were ordered to investigate. Unexpectedly, we happened upon the third young master.

"No one expected to encounter anyone here, so upon seeing a person... it was inevitable to assume it was that malicious being.

"Hence our offensive action..."

"...I see."

Chu Qing laughed heartily:

"It’s said that acquaintanceships often arise from confrontation..."

Upon saying this, he hesitated, realizing that acquaintanceships typically arise from evenly matched confrontations... but now with nothing happening on his side while theirs was chaotic, it felt somewhat improper.

Yet, that was irrelevant, and he softly said:

"You came due to the people here? We did too, but weren’t aware if the fellow members of the Taiheng Sect had discovered anything?"

Shan Lan shook her head:

"This Illusion Array is manageable, but since arriving here, we haven’t found traces of that person."

"If that’s the case, shall we explore together?"

"Sure." Shan Lan immediately agreed.

Then she called her unruly junior brothers and sisters over, introducing them to Chu Qing one by one.

However, Chu Qing noticed that they all seemed rather taciturn.

Especially one named Chen Buyu; you couldn’t get even a peep out of him. The others were either curious or attentive to Chu Qing, inevitably chatting with him.

Yet Chen Buyu remained silent throughout.

Chu Qing glanced at Chen Buyu in puzzlement; Shan Lan noticed his gaze and laughed:

"What’s the matter, third young master?"

"Nothing... just curious."

What kind of parents would name their child ’Buyu’ (Silent)? What kind of name is that, anyhow?

This kind of question seemed recurrent, so when Shan Lan heard Chu Qing speak, she immediately discerned his thoughts. After some hesitation, she explained:

"The name wasn’t given by his parents... it’s from his master."

Chu Qing suddenly thought of someone... Mo Duxing!

A master giving a name must have a reason!

Chu Qing promptly asked:

"Why?"

Chen Buyu hurriedly grabbed Shan Lan’s sleeve, shaking his head repeatedly.

Shan Lan smiled, and before she could speak, the other disciples were already spilling the beans one after another.

Indeed, there’s a story to this.

Chen Buyu’s name was changed because he was overly talkative and had a sharp tongue that easily offended others.

At the sect, it was mostly alright until a time when two groups were in a dispute. The mediator couldn’t resolve it and invited Taiheng Mountain experts to help.

The task posed no danger but reflected Taiheng Sect’s reputation broadly.

So, it didn’t matter who went... eventually, they chose the rarely descending Chen Buyu.

Chen Buyu cheerfully went, returning just as happy.

His master thought he had resolved it, but upon inquiry, he was nearly enraged.

Initially, it was just a minor friction, with the persistence for reputation.

Had someone from Taiheng Sect mediated, they could boast about it later.

But as it turned out... the minor friction escalated to a blood feud under Chen Buyu’s mediation.

The sides fought for three days and nights without a decisive victory, swearing never to cease, continuing the vendetta to this day...

Even Chen Buyu’s master intervened, but to no avail.

Both parties initially had deep-seated enmity unbeknownst to them; Chen Buyu was the one who discovered it, leading to the current state.

It’s said Chen Buyu’s master sat for a long time to catch his breath upon returning.

Occurrences like these, if once could be coincidence, twice as accidents, then happening three times... four, five... six times... definitely aren’t accidents.

This fool’s mouth is like an oracle!

His master renamed him Chen Buyu, to speak less, especially before outsiders.

Otherwise, an amicable person without any prejudice toward Taiheng Sect might form a vendetta due to a few words.

Wu Qianhuan found this amusing... never had she heard of such a person.

She felt that traveling the Martial World indeed broadened her horizons.

Chu Qing thought Mo Duxing and Chen Buyu would have much to discuss.

But relatively, Mo Duxing feigned expertise, whereas Chen Buyu’s mouth was genuinely formidable.

Chen Buyu listened silently for a long time, couldn’t help but murmur:

"Much ado about nothing..."

This seemed directed at Wu Qianhuan, who promptly stifled her laughter, reflecting on whether she was too excessive.

Chu Qing suddenly realized:

"The voice earlier calling us demons, that was you, wasn’t it?"

Once the words left, Chen Buyu’s surrounding junior brothers were quick to react.

"Yes, it was you!"

"If you hadn’t called us demons, how could we have rushed at the third young master?"

"The beating we took slightly was your fault!"

"Stop talking, get him!"

They immediately pinned Chen Buyu to the ground, giving him a sound thrashing, especially the one dragged backward, nearly tearing his pants, responded with anger and boldness.

Shan Lan stood awkwardly aside, wanting to mediate but not knowing how, only managing a dry laugh to Chu Qing:

"Well... my junior brothers and sisters are young, hope the third young master won’t mind."

Chu Qing gestured dismissively:

"Heard much of Taiheng Sect’s reputation, meeting in person is better.

"The sect’s harmony, no wonder Taiheng Sect ranks among the top five sects."

Shan Lan pondered, feeling assured that Chu Qing wasn’t being sarcastic, and relaxed.

She then separated the bickering disciples, and together they searched the Locust Tree Forest.

They combed thoroughly through every nook and cranny, only finding a letter.

The letter bore a graceful yet strangely exuberant script: For the Third Young Master’s Eyes Only!
