Chapter 396: Chapter 229: Kneel Down (2)
"If anyone dies under mysterious circumstances, with their body shriveled and all blood drained, you must report immediately and inform me of the situation.
"Anyone daring to deceive me and conceal the truth... shall be punished!"
Lu Changhe’s heart trembled:
"Yes, I accept the order!"
Chu Qing glanced at him:
"Especially near Guang’an City, I’ve been pursuing that person all the way to this area, where I lost their trace.
"She might be hiding around Guang’an City, or perhaps she has already fled, but in any case, this is no small matter. You must keep it in mind."
"Yes, I understand,"
Lu Changhe said he understood, but in truth, he didn’t quite grasp it.
He also didn’t know exactly who Chu Qing was looking for.
But as things stand, after just saying he understood, he dared not ask again.
Chu Qing nodded, prepared to give some more instructions before leaving, but suddenly remembered what Wuchen had said about Guang’an Temple.
So he asked:
"Is there a Guang’an Temple within Guang’an City?"
"Indeed."
Lu Changhe nodded quickly:
"Currently, the abbot of Guang’an Temple is a former eminent monk from the Vajra Zen Institute, Dharma name Zen Master Hui Ji.
"These days, there’s a Buddhist ceremony at Guang’an Temple, with eminent monks from various places gathering to give talks. It’s very lively."
"A Buddhist ceremony?"
Chu Qing frowned slightly; he hadn’t seen any monks on his way here.
So he asked:
"Who exactly are attending?"
"There are eminent monks from nearby temples, as well as ascetic monks traveling the world.
"Oh, and I’ve heard people from the Vajra Sect are also coming... This ceremony is seven days long, and today is already the sixth day."
Chu Qing suddenly realized it, no wonder he hadn’t seen any monks; with the seven-day ceremony and it being the sixth day, all the monks should be at Guang’an Temple now.
His mind stirred, and he spoke softly:
"The matter I’ve entrusted to you is significant, do not treat it lightly. I have other matters to attend to, so I won’t stay long at your City Lord’s Mansion."
Having said that, he turned and left.
Lu Changhe hurriedly instructed a few capable disciples from the Blazing Hall to follow beside Chu Qing.
For the great name of being at Chu Qing’s command at any time.
Chu Qing didn’t mind. After all, if there was any intelligence feedback from the Blazing Hall, someone would need to be a go-between.
So he left these two Blazing Hall disciples by his side.
After leaving the City Lord’s Mansion, Chu Qing pondered over the Buddhist ceremony at Guang’an Temple and Zen Master Hui Ji while heading to the tea house from earlier.
Monks travel the world, staying at various temples and sometimes even becoming the host; it’s quite normal.
Zen Master Hui Ji, being originally from the Vajra Sect, is not someone ordinary monks can compare to whether in Buddhist technique or martial arts.
Dwelling in the modest Guang’an Temple is actually beneath his abilities.
And for the Vajra Zen Institute, one of the Five Gates, to come and attend this modest ceremony at Guang’an Temple, there seems to be something more to it.
Chu Qing contemplated Wuchen’s issue, feeling there might be some twists involved.
However, this matter has spanned nearly twenty years, so even if there are complications, it’s understandable.
Walking along and lost in thought, he soon reached near the tea house.
Before he could enter, he heard loud crashing sounds, clearly indicating someone was in a brawl inside the tea house.
Chu Qing frowned slightly, and the two disciples from Blazing Hall behind him changed their expressions.
This important person had just arrived in Guang’an City, and a fight broke out in the tea house. If it left an impression of disorder, Lu Changhe’s vice squad leader position might be at risk.
So they hurriedly entered, attempting to stop the situation from escalating.
Chu Qing followed them into the tea house, seeing tables and chairs overturned, with three people fighting.
One was Gentle, and the other two were actually two bald-headed monks.
The three were engaged in a fierce fight in the tea house, with Gentle using [Taiyi Divine Fist] and [Taiyi Divine Leg] to fight two at once, having the upper hand.
Wuchen stood by with a furrowed brow, appearing anxious.
He didn’t intervene, not because he didn’t want to, but because he couldn’t.
Because judging by their stature and martial arts, those two monks were from the Vajra Sect.
In addition to those two monks, there was a monk in white sitting by a window, leisurely sipping tea while watching the fight.
He appeared quite nonchalant.
His handsome features seemed untouched by worldly dust, resembling a Buddha’s Son, with a red mark on his brow adding to his ethereal presence.
But in his demeanor, there was a hint of aloofness, a solitary arrogance, leaving Chu Qing with a somewhat unfavorable first impression.
The two disciples from Blazing Hall had already entered the tea house, when one shouted:
"Stop! Fighting so brazenly in our Blazing Hall’s territory, what kind of conduct is this?"
The monks ignored the rebuke from the Blazing Hall disciples.
Gentle had already seen Chu Qing and immediately flipped his hands, splitting his fingers into two, each pointing out a strike of [Nine Heavens Star Finger], temporarily driving the two monks back.
The two monks stepped back a few steps, but were about to rush in again, when the Blazing Hall disciples stood between them.
"Is the Vajra Sect ignoring our Blazing Hall?"
"With the Blazing Hall having pledged to a new lord, does the so-called number one young master of South Ridge really give you such confidence?"
The monk in white chuckled lightly:
"From this monk’s perspective, with Beitang Lie dead, the Blazing Hall is already in name only.
"It’s not that this monk disregards you; it’s that you... aren’t worthy of this monk’s attention."
"How bold!"
The two Blazing Hall disciples instantly flared up with anger, scolding loudly:
"Reckless baldhead, state your name; the Blazing Hall will surely question the Vajra Sect about this!"
Five halls, three sects, five gates, and one manor, no one is superior; the Vajra Sect may be farther from the Blazing Hall, but it’s no pushover to be bullied.
How could they allow the other side such disrespect?
Chu Qing, meanwhile, approached Gentle:
"Are you hurt?"
Gentle shook his head:
"They’re not capable of harming me."
The monk in white, seeing Chu Qing stand by Gentle, slightly squinted his eyes:
"Ah, it turns out you and this person are together, and these two Blazing Hall disciples are also with you?
"Yet I do not know who you might be?
"To have the Blazing Hall’s hounds flaunting by your side?"
Chu Qing ignored the rude monk and asked Gentle:
"How did you end up in a fight?"
"Earlier, when the storyteller mentioned that the Third Lord was the number one young master of South Ridge...
Gentle whispered:
"I joined others in cheering; however, I somehow offended this insolent monk.
"In disagreement, he wanted to fight me.
"And thus the fight broke out."
The monk, seeing Chu Qing disregard him and only chat with the girl disguised as a man, slightly frowned:
"Can the monk’s words not be heard, benefactor? Are your ears failing at such a young age?"
Chu Qing glanced at Wuchen bewilderedly, wondering what was going on with the Vajra Sect.
Looking so otherworldly, yet the monk seemed to have no filter when speaking.
He raised his gaze to glance at the monk:
"Little monk, are you talking to me?"
The monk in white turned his face sinister:
"What did you call this monk?"
Before Chu Qing could answer, the two monks who had fought with Gentle stepped forward:
"Benefactor, do not utter slander. The one before you is our Vajra Sect’s Buddha’s Son, Dharma name Lingxin!"
Chu Qing chuckled softly, then suddenly commanded in a low voice:
"Kneel."
The voice wasn’t loud, yet it resonated in their ears.
The two monks only felt their heads buzz, their legs went weak without knowing why, and with a thud, they knelt directly on the ground.
"A monk neglects to cultivate their virtues, telling others not to utter slanders...
"What kind of filthy figures have appeared from Vajra Zen Institute?
"Come, slap them for me."
The two Blazing Hall disciples felt a jolt, realizing there was work to be done.
The master indeed possessed unparalleled Divine Skill; the disciples of Vajra Zen Institute weren’t to be trifled with, yet they knelt down obediently as commanded.
This martial arts, so profoundly exceptional.
They then stepped forward, swinging their large palms wide, ready to strike down.
As the hands were about to fall, the Lingxin monk slammed the table and stood up:
"Stop!!"
