Chapter 466: Chapter 466: Wanting to Use the Honey Trap
After the family of three left, the other contestants immediately gathered around.
Jiang Xiaoti took off her mascot headgear, fuming, "What’s wrong with kids these days? They’re impossible to fool! How is my little ice bear ugly? It looks like a tiny angel! Their sharp tongues, though—definitely more like little devils!"
Lu Yujing finally felt slightly relieved. Turns out it wasn’t that her creations were unsellable, but that all avenues for sales had been completely shut off. With free options available, who would want to pay?
"I’m done! The show is outright sabotaging us—there’s free ice sculpture experiences now, who’s gonna spend money on our ugly trinkets?" Qin Feng fully understood his own work didn’t stand a chance, particularly against the allure of free offerings.
Li Haidong, on the other hand, felt lucky. "Good thing I didn’t bother trying to sell anything, or who knows what kind of embarrassment I might’ve faced."
With morale hitting rock bottom, none of the contestants were motivated to continue selling. Suddenly, the missing PD appeared to cheer them on: "Don’t give up, everyone! So what if it’s free? You need to focus on leveraging your strengths. There are always ways around difficulties. As long as you don’t give up, you can make it happen!"
"Tsk!" None of the contestants bought into the PD’s pep talk, collectively sneering at him in unison.
The PD grinned awkwardly and raised his hands, "Hey, come on now, I’m just trying to encourage you! Look, you’ve been out here nearly all day and haven’t even gotten to enjoy any of the amusement park attractions. Don’t you think it’s a waste? Hurry up and find a way to earn your ticket money!"
"Sister Sangsang, you should just take down the director and rob the show for its money. Problem solved, tickets secured." Song Shiye, ever shameless, came up with a downright sneaky suggestion.
The PD, knowing all too well what Sang Ning was capable of, instantly backed away cautiously, protesting as he retreated, "No, no, no, please, don’t get impulsive. The task isn’t done yet—you still need to put in effort! Good luck!"
Qin Feng waved dismissively, "Not selling anymore, not selling anymore—let the show do as it pleases!"
Drawing from everyone’s previous failures, Sang Ning considered for a moment before proposing, "How about we try heading to the free Ice Sculpture Experience Hall?"
The contestants all gave her incredulous looks.
Even Song Shiye, who often responded positively to her ideas, wasn’t sold: "Sister Sangsang, we couldn’t sell anything outside their place, let alone if we go directly to challenge them on their turf—they’ll probably beat us to death!"
Sang Ning shook her head, "It won’t get that bad. As long as you’re there, this batch of items has hope of being sold."
Song Shiye pointed to himself in disbelief, "Me?" Why did this suddenly feel like bad news?
"Yes, you." Sang Ning shifted her gaze, "And Qin Feng, you two are our secret weapons for sales!"
After a day of setbacks, Qin Feng had convinced himself he was completely useless. But hearing Sang Ning’s words ignited a spark of hope within him, and he responded dramatically, "Lady Sang Ning, wherever you need my talents, feel free to command me!"
"And what about us? Are we just useless now?" Jiang Xiaoti pointed at herself, as well as Lu Yujing, Li Haidong, and Wei Lan beside her.
Sang Ning asked Jiang Xiaoti, "Do you have any talents?"
Jiang Xiaoti froze for a moment before timidly replying, "Does the cello count?"
Sang Ning nodded, "Of course it does!"
Wei Lan, not knowing Sang Ning’s plan but eager to contribute, offered, "In that case, I can play the violin. Can that help?"
Sang Ning nodded enthusiastically, "Extremely helpful!"
Li Haidong wasn’t about to be left behind: "I can play the saxophone!"
Just as Lu Yujing was about to speak, Sang Ning raised a hand to cut her off: "I already know ballet is your specialty."
Nobody knew what Sang Ning had in mind, but somehow they all blindly followed her to a travel photography store.
When they were trying to sell ice sculptures earlier, Sang Ning had already noticed this small shop. It was tucked away in a quieter corner of the amusement park, with hardly any foot traffic outside.
Leading the group inside, she called out, "Boss, are you open today?"
"Open, open!" An excited voice answered immediately, followed by a figure emerging from the back.
The person who stepped out was a young woman, smiling warmly as she greeted them, "I’m the owner. May I ask, what do you need, guests?"
"Ahh!!!!" Mid-sentence, the woman suddenly shrieked, startling everyone.
Since there was no selling involved now, Sang Ning had taken off her mascot headgear, revealing her true appearance.
Recognizing her, the young woman couldn’t stop screaming and immediately hugged Sang Ning, "Ah!!! Am I dreaming? Is this really Sang Jie alive?"
Sang Ning allowed the hug with an amused expression, "Not alive? Do you mean undead?"
After screaming and hugging for a while, the young woman finally remembered to compose herself. She quickly let go of Sang Ning and gushed, "Sang Jie, I’m so excited! I’m your fan—I never thought I’d get to see you in person, let alone hug you. This totally made my day!"
Sang Ning hadn’t expected to meet a fan and softened her tone, "Would you like an autograph or a photo?"
The young woman nodded quickly, "Yes, of course I want them!"
After the autograph and photos, the woman remembered her job and asked, "Sang Jie, did you and your friends come to take pictures?"
Sang Ning replied, "Not exactly. We’re here to rent some clothes. Can your shop provide just styling services?"
"Absolutely! Not to brag, but even though my shop’s location is a bit remote, my wardrobe is hands down the most diverse and stylish among all the travel photography stores in the amusement park."
Feeling assured, Sang Ning pointed at Song Shiye and Qin Feng, who were still wearing their mascot headgear, "Great, then I’d like you to pick out some fitting military-style outfits for these two, and give them stylized looks. Make them unrecognizable, but also strikingly handsome—like characters straight out of a manga."
The young woman flashed an "OK" hand sign, "No problem, Sang Jie. You’re lucky you ran into me—I specialize in makeup transformations!"
Song Shiye and Qin Feng exchanged worried looks—they’d already figured out Sang Ning’s intentions. Wow, so they were going to be sacrifices for some old-fashioned ’pretty boys’ strategy!
Even though they didn’t like it, Song Shiye and Qin Feng had already agreed to cooperate. Resigned, they took off their mascot headgear and prepared to undergo their transformations.
As soon as they removed the headgear, the young woman erupted in another round of screaming, "Ah!!!! I must’ve stepped in good luck today! Is that Song Shiye alive? And this other unbelievably handsome guy whose name I don’t know—I’ve struck gold!"
Qin Feng coughed lightly, covering his mouth, "Not knowing my name doesn’t mean you have to emphasize it."
The young woman patted her chest confidently at Sang Ning, "Don’t worry, idol! I’ll call my partner over to help, and in at most an hour, I’ll deliver the ultimate transformations!"
Song Shiye and Qin Feng were ushered into the makeup room, leaving the rest of the group unsure of what was next. Lu Yujing hesitantly asked, "Do we need to change clothes too?"
"Nope. The key is creating eye-catching contrasts. We’ll just keep our mascot headgear on."
Sang Ning’s plan didn’t sit well with Lu Yujing, who felt cheated. If she was really going to perform ballet, wasn’t a beautiful outfit basically a necessity?
Sang Ning understood Lu Yujing’s thoughts and explained, "I’m looking out for you—ballet outfits are so thin. Are you sure you can handle the cold weather?"
