Chapter 689: Chapter 689: Making Her Drink the Medicine
Later, the doctor came in, prescribed some medicine for Song Yinyin, and set up an IV drip.
The fever medicine from S Country was quite different from that in Country Z, with a bad taste and a strange flavor. Song Yinyin couldn’t ingest it, turning her head away to push aside the medicine Lu Jihan brought to her.
"It’s so hard to drink..."
"You have to drink it, even if it tastes bad!"
Lu Jihan frowned, commanding with a tone of authority.
"I don’t want to..." Song Yinyin’s consciousness was drifting, instinctively rejecting anything that came near her mouth.
She didn’t know what the medicine was made of; it tasted terrible and was unbearably uncomfortable, she simply couldn’t swallow it, and the liquid trickled down from the corner of her lips.
Lu Jihan simply frowned, taking up the medicine bottle and taking a sip himself.
Then he bent down and touched her lips, disregarding her resistance and struggle, forcibly prying open her mouth and pouring the medicine into her mouth from his own.
Song Yinyin choked on it and spat out quite a bit, but at least some of it got inside.
Seeing that this method was effective, Lu Jihan repeated it, feeding another mouthful into her mouth, and this time, Song Yinyin managed to swallow all the medicine.
Satisfied with the result, Lu Jihan laid her down.
Once out of his warm embrace, Song Yinyin began to shiver again, feeling cold all over, hugging herself, and her teeth chattering.
Lu Jihan’s heart sank at the sight and he had no choice but to pick her up again.
He dried her off, wrapped her in a blanket, and laid her back on the bed. Then he covered her with a thick quilt and continually rubbed her hands and feet with his own.
But this didn’t seem very effective, so he simply took off his coat and slipped into bed with Song Yinyin.
Song Yinyin felt a warm figure approach, and she immediately wrapped her arms around him, clinging to Lu Jinghan’s body.
She felt extremely unwell, whining in Lu Jihan’s arms, her brows tightly knitted, her fair face flushed a deep red, and her pink lips an unnatural rosy hue.
Even while sick, she couldn’t stay still, her little mouth opening and closing, mumbling something unintelligible, which made Lu Jihan amused and helpless.
He leaned closer to Song Yinyin’s lips and vaguely heard her saying she wanted to drink water.
So he got up again to get her some water.
But as soon as he moved a bit, Song Yinyin sensed it and, fearing he’d leave, tightened her hold around his neck.
Lu Jihan gently patted her back in consolation.
Sure enough, she obediently stayed still, and the tight embrace of her hands relaxed.
Only then could Lu Jihan slightly free her wrists and rise to get water for her.
After drinking the water, Song Yinyin calmed down a bit, but her brows remained tightly furrowed as if she was still feeling quite uncomfortable.
Seeing this, Lu Jihan couldn’t help but feel a pang of heartache, frequently kissing her red lips, cheeks, and forehead in comfort, occasionally whispering soothing words.
He even sang nursery rhymes, just like he would when coaxing a child to sleep.
And this indeed had the desired effect, as Song Yinyin listened to his singing, slowly relaxed, squinting with slightly closed eyes, panting softly amidst difficult breaths, nestled languidly in Lu Jihan’s arms, gradually falling into a deep sleep.
Lu Jihan watched her sleeping form and soon fell asleep himself.
......
The next day.
Lu Jihan, possessing a robust constitution, after a night’s sleep, woke up in the morning full of energy, looking dashing and well-rested, as if staying up all night taking care of her hadn’t affected him at all.
